My husband and I were in Guatemala almost 5 years ago and in jest, I sent this email to my Mom back then. Volcán del Fuego was in the background of my hotel room. It was almost winter break for her and I knew she was tired of grading tests. I never thought that volcano would erupt either. My heart goes out to the people of Guatemala. Everyone there was as nice and friendly as can be, and treated my husband and I like family. I will never forget your culture, beauty, and most of all, passion.
