Honor-Level Classes-Doās and Donāts
Since Iāve been in advanced classes since fourth grade (and testing for them since thirdāgross) I wanna make a small guide for choosing if theyāre right for you!
ā¢THEY LOOK GREAT ON COLLEGE APPLICATIONS BUT.... theyāre incredibly stressful. In IB/AP/Honor level classes, the workload is often trippled and expectations are exponentially higher. Donāt overload yourself just because itāll impress a college board.
ā¢ORGANIZATION IS KEY... Oftentimes (at younger ages) students will be placed in advanced classes because theyāre organized. This isnāt always the case, but it helps to have all of your assignments done neatly if you take these classes
ā¢PROCRASTINATION WILL KILL YOU... Sure, a lot of advanced students procrastinate, but thatās because they think they can because theyāre āadvanced.ā Especially if theyāve been in those classes for a long time. Just do your homework immediately, it sounds boring but itās worth it!
ā¢BE POLITE TO TEACHERS... Thereās a good reason smart kids are often āsuck-upsā and thatās because they know when to ask for help and how to do it politely. Not only that but being polite makes an amazing first impression, which does wonders in the long run.
ā¢MAKE FRIENDS IN THOSE CLASSES... Theyāll probably save your ass. A lot of the times advanced kids form a group to help each other remember deadlines and help with homework. This can minimize your stress.
***hey sorry if this is kinda sucky...iāve been out of my studyblr groove lmao! iāve been really sick lately and iāve been suuuuper busy organizing my schools Stand Up Comedy Club (or S.U.C.C)
GERMAN YOUTUBERS MEGAPOST
Hey German Study Buddies,
I think watching German youtube for the past year or so has allowed my German to improve so much. Adopting the German colloquialisms and listening to the fluency and grammar structures in the videos has really helped me so so much! For anybody learning a language: youtube is the best!
Not only is it fun to watch the many funny videos or hauls (yesā¦I have obsession with clothing hauls), but also you can learn so much by just continually listening to the German. Anyway, it took me a while to find these German youtubers so I thought I would share them in one big master post here:
PS: if you know any other good German youtubers let me know and Iāll add to the list! :) PPS: I put a little heart next to my favourite ones x

How Do I Keep My Grades Up?
Heyo!! Since I SOMEHOW have straight Aās so far, I might as well post how I keep my grades up! :)
⢠I take comprehensive notes, so for worksheet-type assignments, my answers are just in my notes!
⢠I pay attention to what answers I miss on assignments and quizzes so when exams come up, I know what I need to study
⢠I seize any opportunity for extra credit!! Since itās cold season, my Geometry teacher offered 10 points of extra credit for 2 tissue boxes + some basic math showing we knew how to measure volume/surface area. THIS RAISED MY GRADE FROM A MID LEVEL B TO A MID LEVEL A
ā¢If your teachers accept late work, TURN IN MISSING ASSIGNMENTS!!!! This is such a simple fix but my friends had terrible grades just because of missing assignments
ā¢If you can, keep track of your grades. Most school districts use a website/app to post grades. These usually have your scores on assignments and tests, so you know what scores youāre getting ahead of time!
ā¢Check your damn answers if you can. Most textbooks (math especially) have some of the answers in the back so you can see what questions you missed
ā¢Email your teachers!!! They donāt bite and if youāre polite, youāll probably get what you need!
*9/16/18
Heyo!! Sorry Iāve been absent lately, Iāve been SUPER sick and just mentally unwell so Iāve been off tumblr for a bit. Hopefully Iāll be way better in the upcoming days (plus iāve met a boy who makes my heart šš so iām suuuper happy)

3 Weeks of High School...
So in my first three weeks of high school, some WILD things have been said and even wilder things have happened, hereās a vague list of some of them
ā¢I have 5 senior (and one junior) bodyguards through my drama class because I give them food every day
ā¢One guy runs through the halls before school, during lunch, and i assume after school. My friend FORCED him to join the cross-country team
ā¢I got involved in a love triangle
ā¢Thereās a senior who plays the guitar during lunch (who has been dubbed Funky Guitar Man by me)
ā¢Funky Guitar Man calls me ālittle oneā
ā¢The senior aides in my drama class have a rolling chair race every day
ā¢On occasion, the aides form a literal train with their chairs
ā¢My English teacher chucked an apple at one of my classmates
ā¢My old biology teacher said, and i quote, āI love you like a stepchild that Iām still mad at.ā because i transferred out of his class
ā¢One of my seniors was being pulled out of a chair, and in attempt to save himself, he grabbed my glasses off of my face
ā¢āIf you put Finn on the table, itāll get lighter.ā
ā¢āāHOLY SHIT THEYāRE GOING TO KILL THEMSELVES? SIGN ME UP!ā
ā¢āSo Philadelphia is the city of incest? NICE!ā
Ey you!!!!!!!!!!!
Pimples are normal and natural!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Itās totally ok to have belly fat thatās where ya food goes!!!!!!!!!!!
Hair grows from everywhere itās super annoying but yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ask Me Anything!
Heyo!! Iāve been super duper sick lately (thanks germs) but iām back and I want to interact with the studyblr community!
ā¢Ask me any questions! It can be personal or school-related!
ā¢It can be about studying, note taking, or a TV show you like!
ā¢Please keep it PG (or a very very mild PG-13) since Iām still 14 lmao
ā¢Anon messages are totally fine if youāre shy!
20/08/2018
Today Iāve studied with a friend of mine in this super cute place and it was awesome. I love having someone to study with and it really helps me to not feel overwhelmed by all the things I need to do.
How to start!
Make some coffee/ tea / snack.
Instead of spending hours procrastinating on your phone, watch a motivational video while you eat.
Tidy your study space, get rid of dishes, mugs and anything that isn“t study related. Leave your glass of water.
Go wash your face with cold water.
Check time.
Turn off your phone and computer. If your study material is there, turn the wifi off.
Study.
Take a short break. (Go to the toilet, refill your glass, stretch, open a window, listen to music, talk to someone, call your mom, etc)
Follow this sequence four times.
Take a long break. (Get another snack, watch a motivational video, go on a short walk, read a book, do some yoga, take a shower, go outside, doodle, post something on tumblr, take a nap or whatever you“d like to do. DO NOT WATCH A TV SHOW YOU ARE NOT GOING TO STOP AND YOU KNOW IT PUNK. Also, make it so that your break doesn“t last longer that 25 minutes, don“t waste precious time)
Go back, keep studying.
<3
please take a moment right now and have some food if you havenāt yet!! š»š»š»
My Note-Taking Tips!
Heyo!!! Iāve been using different note-taking methods for a few years and Iāve figured out which things are best for me! I hope you can find these tips useful, too!
Bullet points are God.
*Theyāre great for making your points look organized, plus you can use different symbols for different subcategories
Donāt be afraid to have unaesthetic notes!
*Donāt be afraid to mess up on spelling or accidentally using the wrong highlighter on a word! Youāll live!
*Donāt have messy or unorganized notes, though. Youāll have a harder time finding the correct information for your homework!
Cornell Notes are worth the setup!
*Before this year, I couldnāt stand setting up Cornell Notes because I was too lazy to see that they were vastly superior to my old methods!
ā¢The point of Cornell Notes (or CN) is to create a study guide for yourself so you can go back and remember the main points of that lesson
Try New Note-Taking Methods!
ā¢Sometimes one element of one method doesnāt work for you but another one does, try it out!

Tips For Being Trans at School!
Heyo!! Iāve been openly transgender (at school, my parents arenāt really accepting) for about three years now, and i have some tips for some students who are nervous about certain things!
DISCLAIMER: MY SCHOOL DISTRICT HAS A ZERO-TOLERANCE POLICY TO DISCRIMINATION AGAINST TRANSGENDER STUDENTS SO YOUR EXPERIENCE COULD BE DIFFERENT THAN MINE
If you can, tell your teachers your preferred name and pronouns ASAP!
ā¢Not only will this lower the chance of them deadnaming you in the future (especially during roll call) but if youāre polite, it serves as a great first impression!
Correct people on your pronouns!!!!!!!!
ā¢This has genuinely worked for me, and it can also give you an awareness of whoās safe to work with in the future. If theyāre intolerant, avoid them whenever possible, but if they make an effort, theyāre most likely good to partner with.
Donāt let yourself be confined to what your gender is āsupposedā to be.
ā¢Wear clothes that make you happy and donāt be afraid to do an activity thatās too feminine/masculine
ā¢If youāre AFAB, and youāre still interested in traditionally feminine things even though youāre transitioning, itās completely fine!
Make friends wherever possible
ā¢Two of my good friends are the student body president (whoās also on the football and cross country teams) and a punk dude whoās in a band. My point being, even if you might not think you have nothing in common, you probably do!!
Use the Bathroom Safely
ā¢Believe me, using the correct bathroom for the first time is TERRIFYING for a lot of transitioning people.
⢠If you feel unsafe at any point, talk to an adult. ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE BEEN PERSONALLY THREATENED!
ā¢YOUR SAFETY IS IMPORTANT
(FtM-specific) Emergency Supplies
ā¢Have menstrual supplies in your bookbag or locker, asking for a tampon sucks ass (iām speaking from experience lmao)
ā¢Even just a pencil bag with some ibuprofen (if your school allows it), tampons, pads, etc is good enough so itās out of your way until you need it
Thatās really all I have right now. I might be posting more often since my first week is over and I donāt have any more āintroductionā projects lmao. If you have any questions my ask box is always open!
(if i worded something poorly, please let me know!! iād hate to have accidentally said something i didnāt mean in this post!)
