dave strider but he gets dreams of all different alternate versions of himself and he has no idea what any of the dreams mean. some of them are incredibly terrifying so he decides that he's not going to bed ever again because what was that... to waking up and feeling like a totally different version of himself the entire day. to waking up one day with extreme fondness to someone to extreme hatred to the other and he doesn't understand why any of this is happening

— alpha dave strider relationship headcanons! (sfw & nsfw)

note: purely self-indulgent and probably all over the place ??? definitely not how i usually write and it was kind of fun! i also have no idea where most of these come from, i reached a flow state when i think about alpha dave okay. i also don't write nsfw, but i had some ideas and i wanted to add them, plus i don't think they're necessarily 'nsfw' as it's pretty mild. do not ask me to do more.

Unlike his beta part, Alpha Dave is not awkward at all; guy knows what he's doing wayyyy more than you'd think. He's confident and smug because he has every right to be. But don't worry, he's not going to fumble you or end up just stumbling over his words because he has no idea how to talk to you. he can talk, hes good at it; he's got the charisma, he's a movie director for a reason

Like I stated before: princess treatment, all the way. Do not even TRY to open a car door or open a door, he will stop you or slam the car door shut to open it for you instead and scolding you for doing something that he enjoys doing

He picks you up bridal style! Unless you don't like that style, he'll carry you whichever way you want him to carry you, he adores you and sees no reason to not express it publicly. Guy could not give less of a fuck if it messes with his "reputation" or something, or people take pictures or whatever. If he's with you NONE of that matters <3

Like I said before (in this post) he will add little easter eggs about you in his films. Small little things that ensure that you are so very special to him. Truly a guy who'll name a brand after you in a movie just to show that you are THAT special to him. Or your favourite colours in the film or your favourite flowers, or literally anything and everything. Obviously fans will take screenshots of these moments in the movie and question the reason for it or question about your name and who you are—Dave WILL be smug, like yes talk about MY partner

If people start to shit-talk you though, he is going to find a way to ruin their life it's okay. I mean, I guess he's mature enough but like at the same time he doesn't want anything remotely bad happening to you or people bad talking you is OUT OF THE QUESTION; like bad talk him, he can handle it. No literally. He can definitely handle a few jabs here and there, but if people start insulting you? yeah no, sorry, he's going to deal with it like how he usually does—out of scenes

Again, unlike his beta counterpart, Alpha Dave doesn't overthink dates. He's not sitting there fidgeting and freaking out over it, he knows where he wants to take you. Whether it be an expensive restaurant, or some nice diner, or to take a stroll in the park, or take you to a place you've been mentioning to him constantly...

He will ease you or comfort you if you are nervous or fidgeting, he will even hype you up. To me, Alpha Dave is a lot better at talking and comforting people. He's more suave and all, but he's not going to awkwardly pat your back. If you're nervous about going out or just feeling overall anxious; there's one choice: he'll settle at just staying home and watching something or doing anything else.

Seriously. those other dates can still happen, if not today, another time. your comfort is top priority.

You will be a pillow princess whether you like it or not. He does not want you to do literally ANYTHING.

Not the type to really care for his pleasure at all, it's an afterthought to him. Your pleasure is a lot more vital to him and hearing all your sounds is a win to him. That's more than enough to satisfy him

Body worshipper. He will worship you like you are a literal god to him, and he is a hopeless devotee. If you ever mention any insecurities you ever had on your body, he will pay extra attention to those spots and kiss, and praise, and comfort you into loving them as much as he loves them, as much as he loves you. You are perfect in his eyes

No. He is not into the the entire thing with cameras, that's a big no to him. Why would he even want to film you in your most vulnerable state? That's absurd, you deserve the most respect and what you two do privately should STAY private

Sure, Alpha Dave LOVES to show you off, but he will add marks where only he can see. he doesn't like the idea of humiliating you in public if he can do so in private.

Truly the guy who wants you to feel the most loved and cared for the entire time, so I don't think he'd degrade you or anything of that nature. He'll praise and check in with you sporadically

maybe its because ive been thinking about five (tua) regularly lately because i miss my time traveling assassin so im just going back and forth between him and dave its really awful guys

alpha dave would give you the princess treatment, he would treat you like royalty, he would literally open doors for you and just pick you up if you tell him your feet are feeling sore

hed like put easter eggs of you in his movies and when everyones like at a screenshot of you and is like "WHO IS THIS?!" and hes all smug and is like "thats the LOVE OF MY LIFE"

is it bad time to say that i cannot write homestuck atm </3 i'll try to write or finish what i have in the works but it is so difficult to write for a fandom you were so attached to and now it's kind of in the background </3 i write for it more for the sake that it's safe for me and i know the characters well enough to not be too mischaracterized

but it would be so fun to branch out even though that'll be so scary to me blargh oh well

a/n: i went to the movies a few days ago, and already had something in the works! the movie was awesome, btw. this was sort of made to be really silly and kind of unserious, i wanted to do something goofy! cause i'm bad at having fun i guess </3 word count: 1300+ words!

High chance you’d end up watching real shitty, terrible movies the ENTIRE TIME. You cannot escape it, he’ll beg and plead for you to watch the movies with him and he SWEARS they’re not bad (spoiler: they probably are)

There will be a moment he reenacts scenes of the films he adores and you have to watch him do it, and wonder where you went wrong in your life 

Or be incredibly surprised he can reenact it at all, either it’s extremely good or so goofy that he’s trying to get you to laugh because he sees that you look bored out of your mind

He might apologise… keyword: might

Speaking of: if you’re the type to joke about his fascination and adoration for Nic Cage like it’s an inside joke, he’ll force you (and himself) to watch every single movie he’s ever made and proceed to watch as John slowly begins to spiral and crash the fuck out over every single movie

Maybe it’s a good thing, free entertainment…

Like I said, reenacts, guy gets SO invested in the movie. No matter what you do, you cannot get this guy to pay attention to you and HE invited you to watch movies to HANGOUT (do you even call this a date if John isn’t paying attention to you? Side eye emoticon)

If you are the type to want to cuddle or get close to him, he will not budge. He might even shrug you off or move away before you can even decide to be sweet to him

He’s never going to give you the satisfaction, I’m so sorry he’s a bitch

“This movie is awesome!” John says with a smile!

“No it’s not…” You reply, unamused and quite bored

You are now being stared at like you said the worst thing imaginable

Maybe you should’ve stayed home… 

Remember when I said he might apologise? If you truly look like you wanna go home, he’d apologise and try to make it up to you in some way. Or he’d apologise and say he’s just happy that you’re watching movies with him

I’ll be so real with you, I don’t think this girl has ever watched a movie that isn’t Squiddles

She’d REALLY adore animal centric movies but would get so emotional about watching any of them and tells you to never let her watch them ever again… but then when you two do this again, she’s like “lets watch this movie!” and she shows you the saddest dog movie to ever be made in your entire life 

You’re like sighhhhhh here we go again, rinse and repeat 

Save her and save yourself from this emotional turmoil

You kind of have to show Jade different movies in order to get away from the Sad Animal Film of Despair but also to see what genres she really likes and what genres she doesn’t like

Her favourite types of movies are coming of age films! To main characters with dogs; she might also adore Disney movies 

She does NOT like apocalyptic movies or movies that heavily deal with isolation, it makes her think of her time at the island and that makes her really sad :( 

However, Jade’s curious about YOUR favourite movies and to see if any of her genres clash with yours; if they do, perfect! If they don’t bummer

Either way, she’s really happy to spend time with you, she’s someone who doesn’t care what you two watch, she is the true Goes With The Flow type of girl

♡ ROSE LALONDE

If we’re running with the cliche: she’d like gothic movies. She’d enjoy a lot of vampire films, she would adore Dracula with all her heart and soul. Among other vampire-centric movies

I’d also say she’d like dark academia movies

You’d think she’d be more fond of horror movies, considering her aesthetic and her mysterious aura she tries to bring to the table, but no. She likes grim movies that make you ponder and make you ask questions

She takes these movies nights VERY serious and would bring a pen and paper with her to jot down notes about the film and offer her two cents

Expect LOTS of jabs in the movies that you two are watching or things she thinks the producers could do better, or the writing feels wrong

This seems a bit hypocritical of her, when to me, I think when she’s writing her own little stories, her own little books, she’s using words no one has ever heard of in their entire life. Like, for instance, she’d use “libidinous” and you’re like girl what are you talking about

Rose just uses words because they’re fancy and pretty sounding 

So her criticizing the writing of a film is so funny 

The type to figure out a mystery and think it’s the most easiest mystery to ever be solved

Rose might drive you crazy, my bad

However, Rose would ask for your opinion on the films you two watch, if you liked it, if you hated it, what parts of it you liked and didn’t like; what parts of the film should’ve been done differently, all of it

She won’t say why she does (Your opinion matters a lot to her)

(And maybe she uses it to not make the same mistakes as they did, via her own book not a movie)

I’d also say she’d enjoy documentaries if movies aren’t your thing, as long as she gets to throw in her two cents of it

♡ DAVE STRIDER

Every single time I see a headcanon that this guy would be terrified out of his gourd over horror movies or psychological thrillers, an angel loses its wings

He’d hate movies with puppets in them, he hates the movie Saw with a burning passion 

But he can handle horror movies, psychological movies; it’s like the roles reversed with him and Rose on this or something…

Considering he’s a rather hypervigilant guy, he’d probably be the one picking things up on things the entire time while watching the movie, or things do NOT go over his head and he takes every little snippet of the cinematography to heart

He’d also make comments here and there about it, his likes, dislikes, or complaints about it… overall, he’s not scared of these types of movies because if he dealt with Bro most of his life, these are NOTHING. To him, his life was a real life horror movie in a way

As long as you don’t show movies with puppets or spiders, he’s fine with it (He’s scared of spiders, I don’t make the rules)

Unless you’re someone who despises these types of films or gets scared easily, he does a few things:

If you’re scared of the film, but look genuinely interested in it, he’d throw the typical romance movie cliche, wrapping an arm around you, letting you snuggle into him. One, he does it to make you laugh and not feel as scared as you once were and secondly to shield you; he may even start commentating about the movie and things you might’ve missed

He’s really good at catching things no one else has, it’s kind of scary how good he is at that

Or he commentates and makes up jokes about the movie to lessen the fear and make you laugh, making it bearable to watch while he offers comments of how stupid the people are in the movie 

It makes you know the movie is not real, it cannot get you, and you’re safe with Dave <3

ALTHOUGH, if you are actually terrified of the movie, Dave would immediately take notice of it and swap the movie to something lighthearted. He may not be scared, but if you’re scared? Nope. He’s not going to watch any of those movies with you. Your comfort means more to him than anything else

Hell, he even would find something he knows you’d enjoy and puts that on; he feels bad, his actions speak for themselves, he’s very sorry

But if you’re scared and are the one who chose the movie? Get ready for Dave to tease the hell out of you
