Meanwhile the world goes on. ...
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting -
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things."

“When you start to know someone, all their physical characteristics start to disappear. You begin to dwell in their energy, recognize the scent of their skin. You see only the essence of the person, not the shell. That’s why you can’t fall in love with beauty. You can lust after it, be infatuated by it, want to own it. You can love it with your eyes and your body but not your heart. And that’s why, when you really connect with a person’s inner self, any physical imperfections disappear, become irrelevant.”

what are your favorite books? ♥️
Hi love, thanks for the question!
I would say that my all time favourite book would definitely be S. by Doug Dorst and J. J. Abrams. It doesn’t fit into any one genre which I love, because you get romance as well as action and you’re constantly engaged. The way the book itself is arranged is also incredibly unique and you have to figure out your own way of reading the multiple storylines that come together through the annotations, footnotes and added documents on top of the text itself. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, I would highly recommend it!
My other favourite books in my later teens have been The Odyssey by Homer (I’m starting a Classics degree and this was the epic that truly got me into the subject) and The Secret History by Donna Tartt (which I read a few years before starting Classical Civ at A-level and probably subconsciously got me into the subject). I have loads of other books I loved in my childhood and dozens of plays and poems that I hold dear to my heart, but at the moment I would say those are my top 3! x
