So I just started watching interviews with a vampire, I am only on episode 4 and have been enjoying it so far. so i looked up the tag on here and apparently the writers pull some racist bs later in the show ? Does anyone know if the books do this? So far the first season appears to display the topic of historical racism (laws, attitudes, banks being shitty, etc.) as the horror it was, but apparently they swap after a certain character is introduced. ( i have only lightly skimmed to avoid heavy spoilers, apologies if i get stuff wrong) People were saying they race-swapped this character in a way that shed a negative light on POC on purpose; so does him being (i assume white?) the race he is in the books fix the issues the show had or is it still a racist mess of a show and book?

I like the story so far but i just don’t want to invest too much of my time into watching something that I ends up being shitty :p
