I think it would be very juicy if modern Jean/Scott/Logan involved Jean being jealous of Logan for having developed an entire right-hand man/divorce/reconciliation dynamic with Scott while she was dead, and Logan being totally blindsided by this!

Like, I’m just thinking about that 90s plot where Scott gets knocked unconscious and Logan goes feral protecting him and will only give him up to Jean. And like, maybe Jean had gotten a little too used to this dynamic, where Logan gave up care of Scott to her because, well, Logan’s damaged and Jean knows best. And she’s not at all prepared in the current day to see Logan in a role where he’s the one to steady Scott, both in battle and emotionally. 

Now Logan thinks as this thing is sparking that, well, he and Scott were so complicated for so long. But the him and Jean part’s gonna be easy, right? They’re friends, and he knows they’re attracted to each other, and Jean is good with this kind of thing.

Logan thinks that if they’re all together, taking care of Scott’s gonna be a team activity now. So he takes his place at Scott’s side and reassures him after he leads the X-Men through a tough situation. 

And Jean just loses her shit because SHE SHOULD BE THE ONE SCOTT NEEDS!
