Tony: truth or dare?
Peter: truth.
Tony: how many hours have you slept this week?
Peter: dare.
Tony: go to sleep.
Peter: I don't like this game.
i know some of you will say “dont praise people for doing the bare minimum” but sometimes, you have to acknowledge and compliment even the smallest things for them to feel appreciated and for them to keep on!!
Peter: do you want the good news or the bad news first?
Tony: the good news
Peter: I won't do it again
nO WAIT-
Ah indeed
Hi! I’m so loving your Missing Link fic. It’s one of the most beautiful pieces I’ve ever read. The words that come out of your head!!! Insane. Your writing is so captivating I could read this all day errydayyyy. There’s 40+ chapters already which is literally amazing, I was just wondering how much more chapters will there be. Like is it so far from done , you have a million things that still needs to happen or do you have an end in sight. This is absolutely not me begging for an end btw, literally I will read it all even if you’re still updating two years from now SJDJS
First of all. that is so lovely of you to say and I am so glad that you have been enjoying it. It's definitely been a ride writing it.
As for how much is left, well I am in denial and saying not that much and one of my betas reckons it will be 80 chapters at least - which makes me feel a bit sick. Having gone through my plot, it is probably at least 20 chapters more minimum. But honestly, I don't know, I am not very good at judging. Heck before I started I would have said it would be no more than 200K and its pushing 240K now!
Does that even help?! D'oh - sorry!
I'd rather there be 200 chapters and I'll read every word of it
The only “Not All Men” post I’ll reblog.
To break down rape culture, we need to stop teaching people that men can’t help themselves; they absolutely can look for enthusiastic consent, and they must. This is absolute bare minimum decent human being behaviour.
Also, if you stop teaching people that “men can’t help themselves” it tends to go hand in hand with teaching the fact that no, men do not “always want it”– which in turn is beneficial for those men who might themselves be assaulted, regardless of the rapist’s gender. Enthusiastic, mindful consent applies to everyone.
Peter : Did it hurt? When I told you to Google it and I was right?
Tony :

Bringing this back because there is still confusion: Bucky is not responsible for the crimes of the Winter Soldier. The analogy is not “if you lost control of your car and killed someone you still need to be responsible for what your car caused”. It is not “if you’re a soldier who followed orders you still need to be responsible for the life you took”. Bucky was not distracted or indoctrinated. He was induced into a state where he had no idea who he was, could barely recall what he did, and where “he will do anything you tell him to”.
The correct analogy is “if someone hijacked your car, tied you up and locked you in the trunk, then drove your car into people, you are not held responsible for what happened to the victims because you were as much a victim as they are”. Yes, maybe you will feel guilty for not putting up enough of a fight, or for not killing the hijacker when you thought you had a chance. But you should be told by your good therapist that while your guilt is a natural reaction of a good person, it wasn’t your fault and you should not make contact with the other victims on your own, much less apologise on behalf of the people who hijacked your car.
I hope that’s how you get treated in the real world anyway.
(Edit: small correction on the wording of one of the analogies)
