Fitness guru Richard Simmons struggled with compulsive eating, binging, and purging. “I did not like me or the way I looked,” he says. “But back then, you could not tell anyone. I took laxatives, learned to throw up and starved and ended up in the hospital.“
Artist Elton John struggled with bulimia. “Despite all the success, I think I just wanted to be loved. I wanted someone to love me.”
Actor Russell Brand struggled with bulimia, depression, and OCD. ‘It was clearly about getting out of myself and isolation. Feeling inadequate and unpleasant.’
