Will my love get thicker if I don’t retwist

Short answer: Yes.Not retwisting your locs will make them thicker and fuller. Of course your hair thickness is also limited by your hair type and strand thickness, but by retwisting through interlocking and palm rolling you're making your locs thin in an effort to get the more manicured look by forcing the strands to stay in a smaller space.

LOC PSA:

DRY. YOUR. HAIR. EVERYTIME. Y'all loc mildew / mold is not a joke. And it's not rare to get either. Even if you think your hair's dry, DRY IT MORE. If you don't have the time it'll take to get it dry then think about washing it when you will have a lot of free time. My locs have gotten so long and beautiful but I'm considering CUTTING THEM OFF. :(( Again, dry your hair!
