Season seven is kind of about Dean now fully knowing he can't hack it in a straight relationship and it rocksssss
Supernatural season 16. It opens at a bar. A ridiculously hot woman begins to flirt with one man, and then another. The two men begin to fight over the woman, and soon, she egs more of them on. It turns into a drunken brawl, and as she exits the bar, the woman morphs into gabriel, smirking. He turns to the camera, and asks, "Didya miss me?"
The entire season consists of him trying to stop the events of 1518 and on, flirting with Sam, trying to get dean and cas together without not insulting dean, being direct, or sending cas to the empty. Lots of sex jokes. It's all filmed deadpool style, Gabe breaking the 4th wall ninety precent of the time, but Cas will occasionally do it in passing, and it will confuse sam and dean to no end.

Alex, your swag too different, your polycule too evil, they'll KILL YOU
dean winchester thirst trap edits are sometimes funny to me bc they're kinda removed from how i see the character (he's my sillyfunny friend to me like that's bestie that's bro that's buddy that's girlie) but castiel hotgirl thirst traps are so serious. they're serious business. they're calling it the most serious business in the world

Thinking about the light spreading over Dean’s face and overcoming the darkness when he finds out Cas is alive
It's details like this that make me appreciate the WORK that went into the everyday production of Supernatural.
This was a thoughtful choice. Everything had to be set up and staged to get this shot. This is a set - not a car on a real highway where this happened by chance. Jensen had a mark. The lights were rigged. The angle and temperature of the lights were chosen to set a specific mood for the scene overall.
Everyone who worked to create this scene was a seasoned professional who knew how to tell a story within seconds with minute detail. It's subtle. While we might not literally be thinking "oh there's light on Dean's face, so that means that he's allowing himself to hope because Cas, his favorite person, is alive". Like, no. We already know Cas is alive and fine because we've been watching him annoy The Shadow for a few weeks. But Dean doesn't know that.
Anyway. All of this was intentional. It continues to be wild to me that given the constraints of production schedules, CW fuckery, how many people were involved in the business of making this show in general, that there are so many moements of just really lovely and subtle filmaking like this. They didn't have to go so hard, but they did.
Which is why, as always, I have so many questions when any of the actors are like "it was platonic" because, yeah, OK buddy, tell it to the production team? Because storytelling goes beyond acting.
everytime i wear an outfit like this i think about this tweet
i simply cannot get over cas’ face post godstiel arc. he literally went 🥺 and everyone forgave him
i just don't think 16 minutes is going to cover it
i am really just constantly enamored by the fact that castiel was the best of those sons of bitches
he could take on multiple angels at once and win. he hauled the michael sword out of the pit. time and time again he gained the support of his siblings, fucked up so tremendously, then apologized, and gained the support of his siblings again. who else has the charisma, the skills, the strategy?
they just don’t do any classic homophobic children moments like this anymore
There was really no winning that one
They should have had a scene where the bad guy throws Dean (likely scenario) and Cas goes to catch him but halfway through Dean's arc through the air Cas remembers that a human man moving at speed towards an immovable object (angel) will hurt just as much as the wall he's trying to protect him from, so Dean hits Cas and he just folds like laundry, cradling Dean's body so tenderly even as they both hit the ground, and it works, the impact is swallowed in the soft heat of Cas's arms and Dean is so genuinely flustered that he just lays there on top of Cas even as the bad guy advances on them and Cas has to roll over Dean and shield him from a blow, and then he does get a little murderous because How Dare you think you can touch Dean Winchester? and he smites the fuck out of the bad guy and Dean is still laying on the ground just bright fucking red and wide eyed
