About William's plan and childhood.
When William explains his plan to Albert, he represents the age of about 11 years old. Even being as clever as he may be, it is a very young age to have such a sordid and exact view of the world, and what’s more, such a radical plan to remedy it.
In addition, as we have seen on several occasions (Baxter’s trial, Moriarty mansion plan) he has a very “tenacious” personality carved into him. It is difficult to think that a human being can be born with this behaviour without being caused by anything.
We know that the childhood of the brothers was not easy, considering that they are orphans of White Chapel. This leads me to think that there was a tragic event that worked as a trigger for William to see the reality of the world. (William handsome as always in the second pic) .
Back to the church scene with Albert, both in the manga and in the anime William’s thoughts are depicted with the painting by W. Blake, “The Great Red Dragon and the Woman Clothed with the Sun.”
This painting depicts a scene from the Apocalypse of Saint John (New Testament): “And the dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child.” Revelation 12:4.
As you know, the woman facing the dragon is pregnant. I know that all this is much more metaphorical and that the woman means goodness, but in any case it is very interesting to think the following:
The woman is pregnant, and the child is William. If we stay with the metaphorical sense, we could understand that William is born of goodness, and that because of his good attitude, demons have been about to ‘devour’ him (or have ended up doing so) at a very young age.
Taking a step further: What if the tragic event has to do with William’s real mother protecting her son, as he was a spectator of the tragedy? His mother sacrificed herself for her children. This may also be why William is so overprotective of Louis.
I am aware that this theory is a little too far-fetched, but since there are still many loose ends, let us allow ourselves the pleasure of rambling.
