//STAR TREK RPER SECRET SANTA
I did this for the RP group I was in last year and I want to do it again this year.Â
What?
This is a great way to meet other RPers that you may not have interacted with before. What will happen is that when you draw a name (I’ll do it on my end and I’ll tell you who you get) your character will have to eventually give a gift to that person’s character. Just put anything in their submit box and maybe a little message to go with it! Great way to start a conversation with someone and hey, who knows? Maybe you’ll find that your characters mesh in a really awesome way that you never even thought of!
RULES:
Have your submit open. That’s how people will give gifts to their Secret Santa so it’s pretty crucial.
You must be an RPer with a Star Trek character or OC in the Star Trek verse(s). No personal blogs and no RP blogs that aren’t in the Star Trek fandom. This isn’t to hate on other fandoms, but since this is designed to meet new RPers, it might be very difficult for someone to have to figure out how to put their character in a universe where they can give yours a present if the two of you are in different fandoms. It’s especially difficult if you’ve never done it before and such. This rule is really to make meeting new RPers less stressful. If you aren’t a Star Trek RPer and you want to participate, maybe start your own in your own fandom! Hell, I don’t care if you even just copy-paste these rules either. Have at it!
You must be willing to have someone you might not have RPd with before. It is kind of the point of this thing. I can understand how nerve-wracking it might be approaching someone you know nothing about, but hopefully the fact that everyone involved is going through the same thing should help.
Reblog to sign up. This will be better than having my inbox flooded. This also means that you should only reblog if you want to sign up. If you reblog more than once, your name will only be entered once. It won’t count for or against you (so if you forgot if you reblogged or not, it doesn’t hurt to reblog it to make sure). If you reblog but then later decide that you don’t want to participate, you can always send me a message to let me know so I can take you off the list.
You will have until Saturday December 7th, 11:59 PM Central Standard Time to sign up for this. I will make the Secret Santa list that weekend and have it for y’all in the coming days. It might take a while to inform everyone since I have an ask limit and I have no idea how many people will be in on this.
Once you have your Secret Santa, you have until Saturday December 21st, 11:59 PM Central Standard Time to give your Secret Santa a gift in their submit box. This could be a picture of the gift your character gives theirs and possibly a conversation starter of your character giving theirs the gift, but really it can be anything. If on the 21st you haven’t received a gift from anyone, let me know and I will remind that person/ask what’s up. If I get no response or you do not receive a gift, don’t worry. You will get one. I or one of my little elves will give one to your character. Nobody shall be left out, I promise.
Also, I’ll be using the tag #star trek secret santa for this. You’re not required to use this tag, but if you want to see how other Secret Santa exchanges are going down, you could check that.
