Throughout her childhood, Lucy Weasley was politely referred to as a bit of a handful. “She’s whimisical,” her mother would say. “She’s free-spirited,” echoed her father. It seemed from the moment she was born, she began to push buttons and boundaries, trying to find just how far she go. The most used phrase in her household was quite often “Lucy, no!” — and a voice always whispered back in her head “Lucy, yes.”
To handle their little handful, Percy and Audrey tried to find physical activities to keep Lucy occupied and enrolled her in a muggle dance class. She took to it instantly and transformed at once from the hyper-active and distracted girl they knew into a focused, dedicated performer. They found this hobby to be especially helpful when Molly went off to school and Lucy no longer had her favorite person to keep her in line.
When Lucy started at Hogwarts, it came as a surprise to absolutely no one that she was sorted into Slytherin — and though her father would never say it, but she knew, surprised or not, he was still just a bit disappointed. She paid this little mind, choosing instead to focus on her new housemates and the sheer joy she found in being reunited with her sister at school.
Lucy was never the type to be interested in a mundane life or a typical job. After leaving Hogwarts, she showed no interest in working for the Ministry like some of her family members or becoming a fancy journalist like Score. She opted to join the Royal Ballet Company instead to keep her mind occupied and her less desirable impulses in check as often as she can.
