If you love a flower, don’t pick it up. Because if you pick it up it dies and it ceases to be what you love. So if you love a flower, let it be. Love is not about possession. Love is about appreciation.

WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER WHEN YOU ARE IN A BAD MOOD?
Sometimes it's cupcake and sometimes it's meditation. It really depends on my state of mind; irrational or lucid.
Listen to Your Cravings. Then seek to understand them. I suddenly had a craving for mozzarella sticks at 9:43pm. Yum!!! However, I know as a mother of two those cheese sticks would go straight to butt. Lucid realization: Look up the nutrients in mozzarella sticks: B12, protein, and calcium. A better choice to meet by body's need was a milk based protein shake. I drank half and was immediately satisfied. Yay!!! Butt saved.
This action and the realization of this center of consciousness, is the meaning of Yoga.
atha yoga anushasanam (Now, this is yoga.) - Sutra 1.1 Yoga Sutras of Patanjali
“In just a few simple words, Patanjali, the father of yoga, is subtly telling you that Yoga is being present. Commit wholeheartedly to what you are doing. Take responsibility. Take ownership of yourself and your life. Seek sage advice. Learn and experience by practice, by doing. Commitment means readiness, with appropriate action and responsibility. Without your full commitment, you won’t succeed.
To succeed in the study of yoga, you must embrace the subject matter with every cell of your being, as its purpose-self-discovery-is, quite simply, life’s purpose, whether you are aware of it or not. On a psychological level, too, you will need preparation, because the path to self-discovery is one with many hurdles.” - Centered Yoga
This. Yoga is learning about yourself. Yoga is allowing yourself the space and time to grow.
I was meant for me to see this blog. My 5 year old son ask me "why was he not great? Everyone can do things that I can't." I was hurt by this and attempted to explain the very thing this blog is portraying visually. Thank you!
There are seven chakras that go up the body. Each pool of energy has a purpose, and can be blocked by a specific kind of emotional muck.

Love redefines itself when you have child. There is nothing so pure, grounding, and infinite.
"Relate to Aspire"
During yoga practice my instructor shared that his wife, also instructing the class, had never had a Big Mac from McDonald's. With that, my aspiration of becoming a yogi suddenly became slightly doubtful. In that moment I felt that since I could not relate, my goal of mastering crow pose was tarnished by the fact that I have in my lifetime eaten a Big Mac. So, the question is "must you relate to something aspire?" How silly right but think about it? Lucid realization: Sometimes what your aspire to be is only limited by your own insecurities. My fear of inadequacy was looking for anything to proof it right.
Is your desire to understand or control?
My 18 month just would not go to sleep. After my third trip to his room, I felt my tensions rising. When I saw him he reached out to me. Heartwarming in both ways; frustrating and endearing. So, I decided to just there on the bed and meditate hoping to knock out to birds with one stone. Instead of him going to sleep he crawled over to me and pulled on my arm. When I looked at him this time I remember how traumatic it was for him to lock himself in our bedroom for 20 minutes as my husband figured out how to remove the knob. Afterwards, he was exhausted and laid down for a nap for an hour and half which he awoke at 5:00pm.
I remembered an article I read about the source of anger is an unmet desire. So, was my desire at this moment a desire to understand or control? I decided on understanding and laid down beside him as he wrapped his arm around my neck he drifted soundly off to sleep within a few minutes. As I tip toed outside the room I cracked the door. So, maybe the path of least resistance is understanding.
On many ocassions I have heard myself tell my children when they are doing something wrong. I have also noticed at work I argue my point of view to persuade others to agree. For instance, my five old son was carrying a large cupcake in its container but the way he was holding it was causing the cupcake to be smashed against the wall of container. I told him was carrying it wrong then paused it questioned if it was it truly about right and wrong or making sure the cake arrived home unscaved. So, I corrected myself and said" that is one way to hold it but if you don't want to smash the cupcake you might want to hold it like this." Lucid Realization: Grant there are somethings that are truly right and wrong but could intention be deciding factor? In the end is it truly about right and wrong or is it a preference and your ego's desire to be right.
If the saying is true, “how you do anything is how you do everything”, then finding balance in your yoga practice will help find balance in life. I struggle with balancing poses. I feel unsteady in anticipation of the pose in my practice. My mind races with thoughts of falling that I typically loose my balance.
My Lucid Realization: I will continue to practice balance poses to find not only physical but mental and emotional steadiness

When your life seems to be constant chaos it is time to sit and be still. I love this guided meditation from Meditation Oasis.
Love this.
Crappy day or crappy moment - it is a choice
When I returned home after a busy day, I was greeted by the foul smell of dog crap. My husband greeted me with "there was an accident." Let me tell you that was putting it kindly. One of the dogs somehow was closed in my boys room and in anxiety desecrated my boys room. There was crap and urine on every area of the floor. It was like watching movie where every direction you looked there was that sound of horror. I immediately returned to my car to drive to the store to rent a rug cleaner. While cleaning the carpet in the boys room my 5 year old son rushed to tell that the dog had thrown up in the living room. I just could not get a break. Then my 5 year said, "What a bad day." His comment made me take pause then respond, "it was a bad moment but not a bad day." It took me 2 hours to restore my home to pristine condition. Afterwards, restorative yoga for my mind and body.
Frazzled? Find your presence.
After the typical busy evening of a working mom, the last thing I wanted to do was anything that required additional energy. I knew I was frazzled when I could not complete sentences when responding to my 5 year son's barrage of questions while preparing dinner. Even though you may feel actively engaged in your daily chaos you are operating on auto-pilot. There is nothing the mind and body needs more than an activity that fosters presence. So, pull out the yoga mat and find yourself.
It may be beneficial to read this each morning before entering the world.
