batwings smp is a minecraft roleplay smp based on powcreations "vampires smp."

in an alternative universe not to far from our own, 18 humans wander into an abandon town. at least.. they all seem human? there may be more to these people then meets the eye. if you can even call them human..

lucille ████ is one of the 18 humans who find themselves in oakhurst. she's an inspiring author who wishes to write something truly beautiful, leaving her mark in the world

with that, lucille brings with her a journal, to jot down any thoughts or ideas she may have during their time in oakhurst

lucille treats their journal almost like a diary. while she will jot down anything that inspires her, she also tends to write down just her inner thoughts and feelings about any present situation

it seems everyone feels a bit sorry for amonit

makes sense. what happened to them was horrible. being attacked out of rage and getting your humanity stolen from you. that would cause a town to feel pitiful from them. and it definitely doesn’t help seeming that they’re so unwilling to accept their new lifestyle

kalina— or well, i guess ravenna now? i don’t know. revenna tried explaining the vampire lifestyle to amonit, though it fell onto amonit’s unwilling ears. i don’t think they were willing to listen to a single thing any vampire was saying honestly

i will say, while amonit played stubbornly ignorant, i had taken notice of something. a quote that popped out in my mind

“a hungry vampire is a dangerous one”

it was something valentine told me as well. i mean of course, it makes sense. humans have blood in them. without a proper meal i’m sure a vampire would begin attacking anything that smelt of blood

ravenna tried warning amonit. said that she was in amonit’s shoes once before, said she killed a man because of it. because of the hunger 

she tried to tell amonit that if they followed the same path she did before, she could end up attacking someone. attacking kei

how interesting, really 

the hurt always do hurt others in return. and kei is such a fragile soul, i’m not sure if they could handle it

i wonder really. what would happen if kei was attacked. attacked by amonit. the tragedy of that. attacking a dear friend out of desperation 

they both have such fragile souls, it would just shatter them

oh how i wonder

amonit still refuses to eat anything that isn’t potatoes. i may not have to wait that long to see this story unfold

amonit seems to be doing okay. not well, not fine, just okay. barely hanging on

kei has been caring for them since the attack. they seem to be codependent on kei now, honestly on me too. they seem to be codependent on anyone who shows them even a hint of kindness

amonit seems so weak now. so timid, so shaky. they flinch at the sound of anything, like someone is always watching them. like a wounded butterfly

how cute, how pitiful 

in a sense i kind of feel bad for amonit. they never asked for this, they never wanted this. hell, they didn’t even believe in this. all they wanted was to go on a vacation, escape whatever family drama was going back at their home. i wonder, how will their family accept them now, with who they’ve become

and yet, despite it all. despite everything, amonit still has it in them to smile. they still have it in them to shine and bloom and flourish. how is that? how do they do it?

poor sweet amonit. my poor sweet angel. what a tragic character you are. a tragic, yet oh so beautiful character

a flower wilted, soft skin bruised. a dainty daisy stained in the blood of someone else’s aggression. the victim of oakhurst

everything always leads back to those damn tunnels

explored those tunnels again, this time with company. kathryn and valentine

apparently kathryn was also aware about the tunnel system, and the odd meeting room that seems to be connected to them, and valentine requested to see them. and who am i to deny such a request?

kathryn is. well, she definitely is a wild card. i always did take her as a type of “thrill seeker," though as i spent more time with her it seems she’s just a seeker for pain. a masochist really, anything to get the heart bumping. something i’ll never understand, but something intriguing nonetheless

kathryn claimed to have found the tunnels on accident as well. it seems she found them connected to another tomb, though they all seem to be connected through the tombs. i wonder why

valentine suggested it was probably to have a monopoly on those magical books, which honestly makes sense. a bit of a pain though, i’d really like to get my hands on another one of those books

on another note though, we were able to show valentine that so called meeting room, which seemed to. i’m not sure how to describe it. i guess disturb valentine. he didn’t seem to happy to see his name on the walls

furthermore, i guess our timing was awful because right as we were ready to exit, we got caught

allocer, holly, and the other guy. solace i think? that’s what valentine told me. honestly i couldn’t be damned to remember

guess i know who’s meeting room this belongs to now

they seemed pretty ticked off seeing us in their meeting room. i hope this doesn’t effect my relations with them, i’d hated for them to think of me in a negative light. especially if they’re the ones with the magical books. like valentine said, they do seem to be dangerous if you’re not on their good side, and i’d hate to get in the middle of that. they don’t seem to be the enemies i’d like to make

i wasn’t really able to ask any questions, they just kinda rushed us out. a shame really

i should apologize. i’ll do that later

i talked to valentine today

valentine. one of the twins. a morwood, i believe?

honestly speaking, i’d never paid too much attention to valentine. i don’t think i even remembered his name until last week

all i knew about valentine was that he was a twin. the twin who died. a stereotypical case of someone who “faked their death” after their “manor burned down.” honestly a bit overused

valentine’s also a vampire. got turned to cure their blindness. that in itself i guess is interesting

you know, i think i went into vampires with a very narrow-minded mindset. i went in believing vampires were as cartoonishly evil as they were implied to be in stories. like dracula. i assumed that’s how all vampires were, and well, holly definitely didn’t help

my ignorance blinded me. valentine helped me see that

it’s funny. i don’t even think he’d realize. i think he was trying to get me onto his side— or well. the vampire’s side

valentine was trying to manipulate me. i’m almost sure of that

he tried to use people he thought i cared for. the priest, amonit. kelly. he fails to realize that i don’t honestly care for anyone. i care about their character, not their person

manipulation is such a human thing. it’s such a painfully human trait people do, in a desperate attempt to get people to side with you, or pity you. people manipulate others for their own personal gain, whether it be for power, or empathy, or just pure fun. the beauty of being human

yet valentine isn’t human. but, as he puts it, he’s “still practically human.” just human enough to commit only a cruelty humans can

i should still keep an eye out for vampires. they are still “dangerous.” just, you know. maybe they are really still humans. just.. more deadly. though, i guess any human can become deadly if pushed hard enough

i explored more of those cave tunnels. the ones i had found a week ago

they all seem to connect itself into one main central point, with each tunnel seemingly being connected from the tombs. the one i entered from was the tomb near lake, which had a very convenient opening in it

it’s funny. for something that seems to want to be secretive, the entrance to them are very much open for the public eye

there was one tunnel though, that seemed to have led to what the signs claimed as a “meeting room.” it did certainly match it’s description. though, i’m not sure why they’d have a meeting room underground, hidden from everyone. is it just supposed to be hidden from the vampires?

this meeting room did have everyone's name around the room, including mine. with two people listed as dangerous. someone to be wary of

kieran and lillian. makes sense, i guess

i don’t know who on earth could have built these tunnels, or this room. or what could the purpose even be used for. perhaps a secret organization with the humans? though, if that were the case it obviously isn’t with every human

but then that leads to another question, being why? why leave out some humans and include others? i’d assume this is supposed to be some sort of plan to defend against the vampires. are some humans more worthy of protection than others?

gosh. thinking about it gives me a headache. and the tunnels and pit falls definitely don’t help

i want so badly to try and make something out of this. the tunnels, the meeting room, the weird animal room above the meeting room. but— god. no matter how i try to wrap my head around it i feel i just happen to fall into more plot holes. why. why?

perhaps this discovery was pointless. i don’t see any usefulness or interest in it, other than the initial shock value of it

funny. this meeting room is kinda like allocer in a way. interesting at first glance but lacks any real depth. a shame really

i was right. vampires. they are violent

kieran attacked amonit. kieran turned amonit

though i guess there is always the possibility of amonit doing something to have ticked off kieran. they have always had it out for each other

vampires attack out of hate, it seems

and it seems the humans are now fighting back

holly and some other person— god i can’t be fucked to remember their name. they ran over to us, screaming about amonit and how they’d been attacked. screamed about how this was war, and how they needed to get the town’s defenses ready

i don’t know, really. all questions i tried asking fell on deaf ears. like no matter how hard i tried to scream for an answer, they refused to even acknowledge i was even there. like they took pleasure of out my ignorance

i don’t know what’s going on anymore. i don’t know what to think, how to think. i don’t

“you can’t die here”

kana paused, her foot already over the ledge. it was all too much, so much. kana just wanted to go home

“i’ve tried before. to kill myself”

a. stood next to her, taking a seat on the ledge of the hill, his legs dangling off. a gust of wind could blow him away

“i..” kana bit her tongue, the words bubbling in her throat. she couldn’t tell if she wanted to yell, scream, cry, or throw up

a. looked up at her. “you look young.”

“i’m 19.” kana grumbled, barely over a whisper

“still pretty young. and healthy”

kana swallowed her heart, bit of her hair tangling in her teeth, sticking on by the tears streaming down her face

“why are you here? haven’t your parents taught you better”

“i’m here for my mom!” kana yelled out. almost out of frustration that someone could even dare to think poorly about her mother. “she’s sick, okay? i’m here for her”

“ah,” a. let out a pitiful sigh. “so you’re here for that too”

kana bit her tongue. her eyes darting over to a. but not daring to turn her head

“a lot of people come here for that,” a. continued. “the cure. that’s why i came here too”

“you came for the cure?”

“yeah. for my late wife”

a. sighed again, picking a flower off from the ground. “but once you enter, you can’t leave.” he said, picking off the petals as the wind took them away. “and well, you’ve met him before”

“he seemed nice..” 

“he always does”

a. sighed one final time, letting go of the stem of the flower once full of life. he stood up and let out his hand for kana

“don’t trust anyone here”

kana stared back at a’s. hand. “even you?”

“even me.”

kana took one look at a’s. face. his blonde hair blocking out his icey blue eyes. they seemed so cold, so unkind. nothing like her mother’s

kana shook her head, before stepping away from the ledge

i went on a walk with kelly

i can still feel my heart beating out my chest. i wonder if she heard it

do vampires have heart beats? do they feel a heart beating long after theirs stop?

i wonder. i’m not sure. i can’t think

what did we even talk about during that walk? god. why can’t i remember. it’s kelly. it must have been important, or at the very least intriguing. kelly always is

all i can think about is how if she wanted to, she could have had her way with me. and no one would have ever known

why didn’t she attack? i guess she trust me, maybe she likes me? 

but aren’t vampires violent by nature?

it seems the people here are unable to die. normal people. not just the vampires

it seems even in death we can’t free ourselves from this place

i’m not sure of the whole story. i’m not even sure if the story holds any truth to it at all. but, apparently. a couple weeks ago, leda died. fell off a cliff and died

i asked about it. i thought perhaps it has something to do with vampires again, or perhaps some new supernatural creature. but xarien denied all supernatural claims. according to xarien, leda is still human. leda is still warm

if there’s no supernatural explanation for leda’s sudden resurrection then my only assumption could be a higher being forcing leda’s soul back into her body

xarien told me not to mess with the beacons. that we “don’t know enough about them.” that it was safer to just leave them alone. so it seems the beacons are playing a role in this

the barriers. the magic around this town

i don’t know why i feel so nothing about this

i don’t feel any fear. or excitement. or anything

why do i feel nothing?

this is objectively interesting and yet i still can’t seem to push down that nauseating feeling down my throat

i want to create. i want to make. so why can’t my fingers move? why am i unable to weave anything into its purest form?

maybe if i experienced what leda felt, maybe if i went through the path leda went through, maybe then i could

no. that’s too risky

i thought i didn’t care about the risk though? as long as i’m reborn into something beautiful, why does it matter?

i tried to turn the castle beacon

amonit was there too. honestly it was their idea first, and admittedly a small part of me wanted to know how the vampires would react, assuming the deconsecrated beacons are “their beacons.” plus, if something went wrong, the blame would go to amonit

at least i really hope so

the vampires. i don’t know which ones, but one of them caught us. or well, they caught amonit. i ran away before they could see me. at least i hope i did

i don’t want to think about what could’ve happen to me if they caught me. i don’t want to think about what they could done to me

i didn’t see amonit behind me when i ran, so i’m assuming they caught them. i don’t know how that conversation went. a part of me wishes i could’ve seen it, though. a part of me also can’t stomach that reality

i hope amonit doesn’t hate me for running away. we really did have such a nice conversation. it’d be too much of a shame for all my hard work to get them to favor me be thrown away because i prioritized my safety. it’s not my fault they got caught

furthermore, there seems to be more random structures pop up around oakhurst. they aren’t worn down, so i can only assume someone here built it

that in itself isn’t unusual. we’ve been trapped here for months now, i don’t fault anyone for getting bored and trying to entertain themself. perhaps it’s leda who’s building all the structures here. she did paint herself to be quite the skilled architect

what’s unusual here is the new beacon i found at one of these structures. maybe i’d just somehow passed this one, but i could’ve sworn i studied every single one of the beacon hidden in this town. it’s almost like this beacon just.. came out of thin air

i’m not sure. i’m not too sure about this town, though i can’t say i ever was sure
