Every day beginning with a flight is a perfect day.
I've often said there's nothing quite like the colors of a prairie sunset, but this is pretty fantastical.
A recent morning flight over Regina had just the right amount of dystopian feel to it. With a thin low level cloud and a touch of patchy fog, it was an absolutely beautiful morning!
Just above a thin cloud with a wondrous sun rise!
You can't beat these views of Regina!
I do believe I have finally captured a fall morning in Winnipeg in and of its full beauty.
While I'm alone here in Winnipeg this 2016 thanksgiving, I do have much to be thankful for. This year especially and while they can get lost in time, its as simple as a view such as this that brings it home. It's these moments that make it all come together.
A beautiful (though windy) Winnipeg fall day.
I’ve given up on the sky. The clouds are killing me, but I can’t do anything. There is just no detail to bring out or resurrect.
From the cloud covered morning haze... (1/2)
...to the warmth of the evening light. (2/2)
I would have to say Pontiac hood ornaments are probably my favorite ones.
I just can't express how much I love the 69 Judge!
I will eventually (unintentionally) end up with enough shots like this for a book...
In the morning light of the autumn equinox, here is a portion of downtown Winnipeg from the air!
Without anyone in these photo's it looks freshly abandoned. And as there wasn't really anyone else wandering around at the time-it felt a bit abandoned.
Of course I wasn't going to abandon the warm color entirely, the feel it adds is one I find a bit eerie.
Stairwells aren't something I usually find too interesting to shoot like this. The artificial skylight made for some awesome effect lighting, and so I gave it a successful try. Then threw it to black and white. Got the aesthetic feeling I was looking for!
While I was in Winnipeg flying for a short while, I took the opportunity to explore around a small bit of the city. I came across the parliament building and shortly thereafter the openness to wander about it as long as you don't start going through closed doors and into offices. There are many long and rather empty hallways which seemed fun to play with a desolate, empty and alone theme. This along with the color temperature made me feel right at home with my camera.
