kiranskhan:
Truthfully, Kiran would have approached anyone in the same manner, but he was lying if the fact that he was Amma Avery’s little brother didn’t give him a little more incentive. “Yeah, flirting. Relax, lil homie, imma get you in, ‘ite?” Kiran let out a small chuckle, trying to make the younger boy a little more comfortable around him. “Yeah, see, that’s because she’s arguing. Ain’t no one gonna respond well to negativity, you get me? If someone wanted to come into your house, and they’re going HAM Lucy Weasley style – don’t get me wrong, bare fond of her – but you’re not gonna wanna let them in, init? Watch this.” Smirking, Kiran sauntered over to the knocker, eyeing the wooden decoration before leaning against the wall with an arm over the knocker, like he’d done with so many girls, as he began whispering, “Yo, you alright? You get polished today, boo? Looking bare shiny today, init. Kinda caught my attention…” And he continued, thinking the knocker would at some point grant them entry.
What a weird guy this was. Luke had spent most of his life interacting with as few people as possible because there were so few people that his parents approved of. Granted, in the walls of Hogwarts, he had let that slip and let in a few people in his House that he clicked with, like Mallory and Lucy, but no one quite like Kiran Khan who used a sort of lingo that his parents would scrunch their nose at. They disapproved enough of Amma’s informal speech. “I guess?” Luke was still questioning this whole plan. “I mean, makes sense. No one likes to be yelled at.” But the knocker wasn’t a ‘one;’ it wasn’t a person. Its operation ran solely off magic and magic was something far harder to try and bargain with. But Kiran seemed confident, so Luke stood back, eyebrow raising as he saw Kiran work a form of his own magic. After a few moments, however, Luke curled his bottom lip into his mouth to try and stop from laughing. “Um, you know it’s not going to answer you, right? And I’m not sure it’s looking for a date. That’s part of the problem with the knocker. It wants for nothing, so why give for any intimidation of bribery tactics? And it’s...uh, kind of looking like flirting tactics don’t work either. But I don’t really...know much about all that.”
