Discovered that my device doesn’t support the newest ikevamp update anymore rip :(( I love using old tablets for games haha With this sad realization, I decided to stop playing ikevamp. I don’t want to download it on my phone so I unfortunately won’t be up-to-date on ikevamp anymore.
However, I am still in love with the game and the characters itself so I will be posting content and other things from that game here. When new routes release in English, I plan to watch playthroughs of it on youtube. Similarly, I also plan to continue doing ikevamp radio translations since I enjoy listening to the silly shenanigans the voice actors do in each episode. I have a couple drawing wips and fics in my head that I hope to post soon.
It really sucks to start off this year with unfortunate news of me being unable to play one of my favorite games but it is what it is.
I’m not sure if I will be posting things other than ikevamp, as that was the main fandom I was posting for. I do play other games, but ikevamp has been the main thing of this page. I feel it would be a bit weird to suddenly change fandoms.
As sad as this is, I will be moving on from this sooner or later. I’m kinda relieved at the same time since I don’t have to go on grinds anymore. Those took too much of my time. On a positive note, I was able to finish both of Dazai’s route and unlock all his side stories during the time I was playing. That was fun. He’s the reason I came back to the game last year, and I’m glad I was able to read his completed route as it is now my favorite.

This is a FAN MADE route of my oc, Salaì. This means this route contains my headcanons for the characters and in no way is suppose to represent the canon story. This is just a fun little time because I know many of you enjoy Salai. Feel free to engage, talk theories, send asks (even to @ask-salai ).

PS, this is not like a normal otome game route, it was only supposed to be 8-10 chapters, so keep that in mind because things WILL FEEL RUSHED. I am NOT a professional writer, I do this as a HOBBY. Somethings are not in-depth as I would like. Please do not go into this thinking it is going to be written the same as the game. Things will feel rushed, I'm sure I could have gone deeper into symbolism, but this is just a fun silly little project, which is also why I encourage you to ask questions. Everything in the route make sense to me because he is my character and I may have not realized I didn't add info. I am proofreading as I post but that doesn't mean I won't miss something.

I love all the hcs about the characters placed throughout the chapters. Like how Vincent has interest in Japanese food/culture, Arthur letting out his inner-Brit the more he drinks, Dazai just being his usual unhinged self, etc.
Overall, it was an amazing read! The only sad thing is that I’m a poor student who can’t afford the side stories :((

Just as I've said in my previous post, I love reading hcs that people have of canon characters, and ikevamp is no exception. I feel like there's an infinite number of possibilities because 90% of these characters are based on real-life counterparts and we can take some aspects of that into the headcanons. It just makes the experimenting all the more fun and interesting.
And because of these hcs, the interactions between each of the residents are so much more lively. Sebastian, for example, is much more unhinged in this story than in the original routes, and that's partly because there's a built-in connection between him and the other characters (including MC) that makes their conversations that much more fun to read.
I feel like one problem this series has (that so many ikevamp routes has too) is the pacing. And as a writer, I understand the difficulty in wanting to put so many things within a limited number of chapters. There's the one month time limit that MC has to fall in love with a suitor. And within that month, you need to introduce the suitor to MC, have her interact with them enough for them to form romantic feelings to each other, and have them get together as a couple. ON TOP OF THAT, there needs to be a secondary conflict with the suitor and their past that needs to be resolved within the month.
There's also the chapter limit of 25 chapters, with each chapter being not that long, either.
One thing I like about Salai's story is how you dabble small clues about his past ever since his first introduction. Even if you're not aware that he has a past with Leonardo, there's subtle clues throughout his interaction with him and MC that you get a glimpse of his past before he reveals it. Like how he speaks Italian, is from Milan, he's a painter, he has a cat, etc.
So many ikevamp suitors just have the big reveal about their past so late into their routes that it's just an unnecessary info-dump. It really hurts the plot and my brain when they do that, so I appreciate you taking the plot in small little chunks.
However, one thing that confused me a little bit was how the conflict with Leo and Salai was resolved. I know Salai spoke to Comte and Comte was like "I'll speak to Leo about it" but I didn't really see the plot resolve completely? Unless I missed something, of course. Or is Salai moving away from the manor, away from Leonardo, the resolution he gets? Is Salai not needing Leonardo's companionship the development? Leo just seems like a big a-hole for not wanting to take responsibility for his actions in the past.
Oh, speaking of MC, I love how you gave her such a relevant role in the story. You had her speak out for Salai against Leo, her comforting Salai through his emotional instability, her helping him with his financial problems. It's nice to have a MC who has an active role in the plot rather than a MC who can't-do-anything-by-herself-and-I-don't-have-a-decent-opinion. She knows what Salai needs, and she's here for it!!

So pacing was a huge issue for me. I didn't WANT to write a full route. It was not my intention to write 20 chapters. I wanted it to be semi short.. like 8-10 like I've said..but then I didn't want everything to happen TOO quickly. I wanted to pace it out a little more. I wanted a LITTLE filler but I also didn't want to drag it on. Plus I couldn't really think of anything else to really add???
But I knew pacing would be a little bad. But I'm also writing this for shits and giggles..not as a real route so that's why I was like "you know what, it's okay"
I LOVE THAT YOU LOVE THE MC BC I HATE CANON MC. SHES SO DUMB I CANT DEAL WITH HER
So with Leonardo and Salaì...the thing is...his route isn't even canon. There's no way he would pick MC over Leonardo. So with all of that I didn't fully know how to word it all with it being so repetitive bc I worried about that as well. But basically Salaì realized that he shouldn't revolve his life around Leonardo, even though that's what he's been doing for centuries. Living without Leonardo is unthinkable to him. But he caught feelings for MC and he was like "know what I need to live for myself"
I hc that Leonardo has anger issues, and when he turned Salaì, he was technically VERY young considering he's a pureblood. So I tend to make him a little immature to make it fit.
Especially after Leonardo hurt his feelings. He's trying to tell himself that Leonardo isn't worth it, which MC helped him see bc in his eyes Leonardo could do no wrong and everything that happened was his fault and all on him. So he decided to move out to be away from Leonardo. He's hoping it helps him get tober him, but he still wants some sort of relationship with him.
BUT I AM SO SO SO SO SO SO SO HAPPY THAT YOU LIKED IT!!!!

Ohh okay, I can see it now. So Salai moving out was a way for him to move on and separate himself from Leo symbolically and physically? I think I understand.
Dude, as much as I love MC, there's some routes where I literally want to bang my head against the wall because of the things she's doing. I'm not here to start a war, but I think she can be edumacated on some basic school subjects or something. She's emotionally intelligent, just not smart.
(Also what does she mean when she says she DIDNT KNOW NEWTON INVENTED CALCULUS??? That was my literal nightmare in high school???? Like I think my brain cells are whack but her's is on a different dimension sometimes.)
And I felt like the filler wasn't that bad actually. Some filler episodes in ikevamp literally does not contribute to the plot in any sense, but every scene where MC interacted with Salai felt important to the plot and/or their relationship.
I'm also gonna be taking your advice and reading all the info on Salai cuz I guess he's stuck on me now haha

It only takes him like a month or two to write to write a novel in English, but then it takes him about five to six months to translate it into French.
I was thinking about how he still writes while living in France, but that would mean he is also writing in French. But I would like to think he writes in English first, which takes no time at all, but then it takes him MONTHS to translate it.
When he's stuck on a word he goes to Napoleon to figure out what the equivalent is. He hates translating
