Thank You So Much For Participating This Year! - Lumity Month 2021

Thank you everyone for participating in Lumity Month this year! I am so happy that so many people participated in the event again this year.

I want to apologize for my lackluster job at hosting the event. Unlike last year, I hosted the event during a month that ended up being really busy at my job. Busier than it was last year so I didn’t expect it.

Thanks to this, I ended up really tired and fatigued after I got off work and usually fell to sleep early, entirely forgetting to post the new prompts for the next day. I even went so far as to forget to do this two days in a row, multiple times!

Plus, I still haven’t gotten around to reblogging everyone’s submissions and writing my own 😩 I am so sorry everyone 😔

You all deserved better for this event. This was a month to celebrate Lumity together but I screwed it up 😔

I am going to reblog everyone’s submissions as soon as I can. Not only that, next year, I am going to host Lumity Month in a later month of the year because I know for a fact that I will not be busy at my job and I can be a proper host like for the original Lumity Month.

Once again, I’m sorry for everything, but thank you to everyone who stayed around in spite of this and continued submitting and participating! You all are the real heroes of this month ^^

Wing It

Lumity Month- Beaches

Luz dragged the bundle of sticks towards the edge of the beach, so it would hopefully be far enough away when the tide came in. 

,She wiped the sweat from her brow, and pulled the picture from her short pocket and looked at it, and began to begin her little project

Amity sprinted onto the sand, she was worried, she had recieved a scroll message from Luz saying that there was a emergncy and she needed help.

She nearly collided with Willow, who burst from the tree line before her, and the two locked eyes with one another

Willow “Let me guess, she sent you the message too?”

Amity just nodded and continued her sprint down the beach

They rounded a bend and then saw the human sitting on a moss covered rock, poking at a small fire she had conjured using one of her glyphs

Amity eyes glanced around for any sign of danger, but then her eyes locked on the structure behind the human “Willow, Is that?”

Willow gripped her former best friends arm, and gave it a small squeeze

Willow “ I think it is…”

The two wandered over, and looked at Luz, with confused looks on their faces

Luz “Oh, hey your here! I thought we could have a girl’s night… I didn’t scare you too much with my message did I?” She asked,

Willow shook head, and Amity chuckled giving Luz a thumbs up

Luz beamed, pulling a bag from behind the rock, “I got hot dogs, buns, and stuff for s’mores as dessert!” She then looked at the object behind her, “Did I get it right?” She whispered softly

Willow and Amity replied in unison :”It’s just like we remember.”

The three then sat in front of the recreation of the childhood fort,  and prepared for whatever else Luz had planned for the night.

Lumity Month (Self Doubt)

Amity was curled into a ball in the back of her walk in closet, the options of what she was going to wear tossed hap hazardly across the wood floor in front of her, she could barely make them out through the tears forming in the corners of her eyes however

“What if she thinks that I’m not good enough for her, what it she wants her to be with someone normal, what if she hates me… What if she thinks I am nothing but a disappointment like my parents do…”

She heard the door to her room open, and Emira’s voice could be heard, “She’s in here…”

Amity looked up to see the blurry visage of Luz walk in, her hands covering her eyes, “Are you decent?” She asked, waving her hand in front of her feeling around to not run into any walls

Amity gave a small chuckle, “Yes.” She finally responded

Luz lowered her hands, and saw the tear stains that had formed on Amity’s cheeks, and she sat on the floor next to her.

Luz “Amity, what’s wrong?”

Amity looked ahead, and whispered quietly, “What if….she doesn’t approve of…US?”

Luz eyes widened, and gripped the young witches hand. “Then me and you defy the norm, just like how me and Eda defy the emperor. But trust me, she is going to love you!” She said, giving her a warm smile

Amity wiped the tears from her eyes, and sighed “Allright, I think I can do that. Now let me get dressed and we can go meet your mother.”

I can definitely see this happening with the two of them. This was great!

Lumity Month- Cursed

Amity awoke in a cold sweat, the sheets of her bed were soaked through. SHe rose from the bed, and wandered to her bathroom. Upon entering she conjured a light spell and stared at her reflection in the mirror, she recoiled in horror at the sight. This had to be nightmare, she turned on the sink and tried splashing cold water upon her face, but looked up to see her reflection staring back at her in it’s repugnant glory

Luz and Eda were awoken by the furious knocking at the door at 2 in the morning, Eda reached the door first, opening it and giving her most furious glare “This had better be—” She stopped when she saw the youg girl, a look of fear on her face as she began to plead, however, the words came out slow and broken “Heeelllpppp—–Me—–Pleaseeee——”

Luz looked at the mishapen Amity, who watched as Eda scoured through some of her more illegal books she had obtained over the years. Amity’s skin in spots were now a dark oozing purple mass, the right side of her face appeared to be sagging off her bones, she raised her hands and tried to shape her skin back into place

Luz looked over at Eda, “What is wrong with her?” She said, tears in her eyes. Eda shrugged, “Far as I can tell, someone cursed her. She s slowly turning into one an abomination constuct.” Luz felt a seething hot rage swell through her, she was going to find out who had done this and make them pay, “Is there a way to reverse it, or slow it down?” She asked, Eda raised her head, and shrugged, “I’m looking kid… but it’s going to take some time. Why don’t you..” She stopped when she heard the voice echo from outside, and the three of them went to the door

Odalia stood in the grass, in the cool night air as the door to the little shack opened and the two criminals emerged, followed by her daughter. She gave a small smile, she had no qualms about her actions, seeing as Amity had been disobeying her wishes for quite some time now, and this seemed like the fastest way to rectify the situation. Eda glared at the woman, “What do you want?” She growled, and Odalia turned looking at the older woman. “Why, I am just here to collect my daughter.” Luz stepped between Amity and her mother, “She is not going anywhere until we fix this.” Odalia’s eyes narrowed, “She seems perfectly fine to me, come along Amity.” Odalia hissed, turning and walking towards the tree’s. Luz opened her mouth to argue, when Amity stumbled past her, groaning in response. “Yeeessss…..Mother Deeeaaarrr….” Luz eyes widened in horror, “Amity What are you doing?” She asked, fear filling her voice. Odalia turned and gave a small grin, “Why, just doing what all good Abominations do. FOLLOWING ORDERS…”
