Ray Frenden reviews the too-cheap-to-be-true Monoprice graphics tablets. How do they stack up to industry standard Wacoms?

After spending a week with the 6.25“x10” Monoprice, my Yiynova and Cintiq remain unplugged and I gave my Intuos away to a friend. The Monoprice tracks subtle pressure variances and small movements with less lag and more crisp fidelity than any of the others. It is, put crudely, fucking awesome, in both OSX Lion and Windows 7 x64.

I have one of these, 10x6.5 I bought about two months ago for 48 bucks. It’s a billion times better than my old Wacom Bamboo and works like a fuckin dream.

Concerning potential aliens: If anyone has a way to explain that which doesn't include aliens I'm all for it. I'm not set in my belief here, but it was wicked strange.

And I do really want there to be aliens, real bad.

What was your experience like, if you don't mind me asking?

Moments ago: I was drifting on home in my little car, cruising slowly up a large hill, it’s almost 4 AM here so i can go weed speed forever, trying to get a good look at this wonderful moon. It’s massive and yellow, commanding our sky alone spare a small, sort of crescent shaped cloud. I’m slowed way, way down at this point to catch the moon on the crest of the hill and her little cloud buddy. Then i notice this little cloud is sort of shimmering and giving off something like that of glowstick-light. So I pull over, pop that shit in park and give it a better look. Without even realizing that this thing was in motion it was right over me. I mean without noticing anything, as though it were in both places at once, and the two images just fused. It went from being something like a plane in the distance to coming in for a landing at a near-by airport. ( it was still way up there but it was lower and almost directly above me) It was wild. Black with lights that looked like the bioluminescence once i was closer. I’m smoking and choking over all this as i watch it float over in complete silence, then it just fucking fazed out of this fucking reality.

I am incredibly pumped, not only did I see MOTHER FUCKING GOD DAMN ALIENS FOR REAL tonight, but I had a wicked fucking dream about what seemed to be a chaotic start to a semi-post-apocalyptic world. 

Yeah, real jazzed to draw some aliens and comets.

I truly enjoy the fuck out of this. Even if I'm usually against mirroring the same image to create a more "complete" piece. Fuck, this is rad.

Also: most of your gallery reminds me of BIOSHOCK which receives my instant approval.
