hi! hello!

my name is eros (aka Luna_Midnights). (they/them) i am a newbie game dev, traditional & digital artist, and a writer. i am fond of all things horror and all things artistic :)

i work mostly solo. i've got a few projects to my name, but below is my current pride and joy:

cakewalk

A short, vulnerable, story/psychological horror game about making cake and learning to accept that your friend is not who you thought he was.

closed beta for the prologue is out! it is currently only available to my playtesters though. stay tuned!

Hello! I'm back! Crazy, I know. But, I come bearing questions!!

Im really curious about specifically characters dreams! My main question is what do their dreams consist of?

Other minor questions are things like

- do they lucid dream?

- do they or have they had sleep paralysis before?

- how did they deal with nightmares as a kid?

Answer when you can, but I just really wanted to know! I absolutely adore your content and I'm planning on making more fanartcin the coming days! I'll make sure to tag you so you can see it.

this is difficult to answer...

i suppose like all dreams, both avery's and roswell's dreams consist of mostly things they both care about and fear. specifically, most of avery's dreams take place in their apartment, and recreate the feelings of their worst days.

roswell doesn't remember his dreams very well.

i imagine neither roswell nor avery lucid dream.

maybe roswell, however, got sleep paralysis when he was younger. maybe not often, but i think he eventually got used to it. he wouldn't tell anyone because he didn't want people to think he was weird.

avery was restless as a kid, and i imagine when they did get nightmares they would stay awake for a few hours afterwards before crashing :(

right now? it's anyone's guess. but the game will probably be finished before i try to implement mobile or console support, because i have experience with neither (ESPECIALLY not console)

i had an idea for a monologue avery drops before confronting their boss . and instead of being normal and writing it down in its entirety i do this

i like to imagine this is optional dialogue you can completely miss. either you go face merrick first, or… take a moment to look down at all your coworkers and the machines and the empty pathways

I've been thinking a lot about Ivan and Andrew's color choices lately... SO NOW YOU'RE GONNA LISTEN TO MY RAMBLING.

(color theory lectures oh no)

So Andrew’s colors are pretty basic — it’s a triad. Two warm ones (yellow and red-purple) and one cool (green), a solid setup, like in any other color harmony

But Ivan’s case is way less straightforward. He doesn’t have a clear triad (or another harmony) - he’s got two out of the three primaries:

blue and red

Everything starts from there. These are the heaviest, most saturated colors. If you throw in all three primaries, it can get overwhelming, straight-up and painful to look at.. basically you need to know how to combine them //BUT THAT’S NOT EVEN THE MAIN POINT// SKIP SKIP SKIP

With Ivan:

-red is warm

-blue is cool

and they work almost like a contrast, even though technically red+green = basic complementary colors

And the whole thing is held together by gray and black - so really Ivan’s whole vibe is cold: gray, black, blue.

And red only shows up as a flash, like an accent honestly. That’s why he comes off way more intimidating, while Andrew feels warmer in tone and therefore more approachable. It’s just human nature.. I guess...how it actually works XDDDD

So... THAT'S ALL bruh

I could also be wrong. Some points are controversial and not everything is as simple as it seems etc etc...

color theory is everything in a roblox design. Know Your Color Theory.

avery’s oldest design btw. if anyone gaf. cakewalk still uses a lot of pink and green (opposites on the cmyk color wheel) though i swapped avery’s color palette to be pink-yellow-blue because i’m a suckkkerrr for that color combo.
