Scared to post this because of the treatment that fic writers have been getting lately, but here we are. I've decided to put Tarot + Chocolate on hold and private the work on AO3 for now. I'd be happy to share downloads with whoever wants it of the completed chapters.

I went through a lot over the past year, and writing this story just isn't bringing me joy anymore, and I'm not feeling inspired or passionate about it. I have been forcing myself through it and I think that's evident in the product. I always said I don't want to share shitty/half-assed writing and that's what I feel like I'm doing.

And just to get ahead of it, I really appreciate anyone who is loving it and wants me to continue, but pausing until if/when I feel inspired again is still the choice I'm going to make, for myself. Writing this story is feeling like a stressful chore, and that's never what I wanted it to be.

I'm still writing fanfic, and if you want to branch out in your fandoms I have a lot of hollanov works on AO3 that I am super proud of. I'm sorry if I'm letting you down 💔 I just have to take care of my heart right now, I hope you guys can understand.

Shane is never gonna see that flannel again btw. It’s going straight in Ilya’s suitcase and back to Boston with him. He wears it when he’s missing his man. Which is constantly. He wears it on flights sometimes. Maybe a lot of the time. Several years down the line the cuffs are frayed and several buttons are missing and Shane finds it in a drawer and barely remembers that it was once his. The only reason he remembers is because one of his most revisited memories of that first cottage summer is seeing Ilya wearing that shirt and the triumphant, roaring animal it awoke in his chest to see Ilya Rozanov wearing fucking plaid and knowing he was the reason.

Guess who 👀 HAPPY ELRIEL MONTH! I am still here, I am still loving on Elriel, I am just SLOW! I had 4 fics I was working on at once and it was really overwhelming. But now I'm just down to 2 so I think updates will come faster.

Summary: Azriel and Elain both reflect on their relationships, separately, with people who are important to them. Elain finds out some interesting information about her sisters, while they found out some interesting information about Azriel.

Feyre and Elain’s gazes met, and Elain bit her lip with a small smile. 

“Are you going to fucking tell us what in hell happened with Azriel Dolan? Because the last we heard, you two fucked and then went your separate ways. Well. Until Feyre forced you on that double date like a maniac.”

“Jesus, Nesta,” Feyre interjected. “Some tact, maybe?”

“No,” Nesta said bluntly. 

“It’s okay,” Elain cut in when she saw Feyre open her mouth with a retort that was sure to be rude. “I’ll tell you guys everything. But…Feyre…”

Her younger sister frowned at her in question. 

“You and Rhysand are like, together now, yeah?” Elain felt bad for not asking Feyre about it earlier. To her surprise, though, a cold look passed over Feyre’s face and she huffed angrily. 

“Well, no, actually. He’s kind of being a huge idiot and we’re not really seeing each other right now.”

“Oh no,” Elain answered. “What happened?”

Feyre waved a hand in the air. “He’s trying to pull some bullshit martyr nice-guy thing on me. Which is really just cover up for another fucking man that can’t face his feelings.”

“Ugh,” Nesta added. “I hate men.”

Elain watched with wide eyes as Feyre and Nesta clinked their wine glasses over the shared sentiment. What had happened when she had been in Scotland?

6 Degrees of Separation: chapter 1

Someone somewhere said any two people on earth can be linked with only 6 degrees of separation. Shane played this game in his head sometimes. He would make up maps of these links, just for the exercise of it. What he didn't do was map his connection to Ilya Rozanov, who had yet to walk into his life and crash down all 6 degrees of separation in one reckless fell swoop. Shane didn't know it, but he was already 6 degrees away from Ilya Rozanov. Because Shane was driving to Montreal, and Montreal was where a modeling agency he didn't know the name of was based. And that modeling agency recently put an ad out for a new campaign. That ad was seen by a girl named Svetlana who had curly hair and a quick, smart tongue. And that girl had called her best friend, Ilya Rozanov, and said, “There's work for you in Montreal, if you're good enough.” And Ilya Rozanov had been good enough, and was finally, finally getting out of Moscow after 19 miserable years. And those 6 degrees of separation would soon be just 1, because Ilya Rozanov & Shane Hollander would be existing in the same city without either knowing the other one existed.

Elain cocked her head at him as he approached, his face softening as he spotted her lounging amongst the flowers. She sat up straighter and closed her book as he approached. 

“My love,” he greeted her, bowing his head and reaching out a hand. She placed her fingers in his and he brought them to his mouth, placing a gentle kiss on her knuckles. 

“Where have you been?” Elain asked him, squeezing his hand before releasing it. “And what’s this?” she asked, nodding towards the box. 

“I have been preparing,” Azriel answered vaguely, the corner of his lips tipping up. “And this is your gown.”

She hadn’t the faintest idea what he meant. “My…gown?” she asked hesitantly. Azriel dipped his chin in response.

“Open it,” he encouraged her, placing the box on her lap. She did so curiously, then gasped as she beheld what was within it.
