FLAMECASTER BOOK REVIEW:

this was another great read! this took me about five days to finish, just because of school. if i’m being honest, i was unsure of this book in the beginning. i was worried i wouldn’t like it just because the writing style was different and the characters were very young in the beginning and i thought it would stay that way throughout the book. i didn’t think i would connect with the characters very well, but i did! i love them dearly!

to start off, i loved the mood of the book! it was full of mystery and intrigue that left me hooked and wanting more! i truly couldn’t put the book down. there was never a dull moment in this book, i enjoyed every page.

i loved the well balanced humour in this book as well! it had me laughing at little one liners and the internal monologues of the characters. the humour was definitely relatable!

the love trope made me ACHE OH MY GOD. there was a definite romeo and juliet vibe to this book and i am LIVING for it. the angst, the devotion, the love-at-first-sight trope... UGH i loved it.

also, there were multiple suicide attempts throughout the book?? like everyone wanted to die i swear to god. the suspense left me hooked.

let’s talk characters! i am IN LOVE with ash. his personality mixed with the very clear image of him i have in my head made me fall hard for him. he’s so selfless and caring and i love him. he’s relentless too! he’ll go to the ends of the earth for the people he loves. plus i have a thing for red heads. 😉

lila! i loved lila. she was the character that just said what everyone else was thinking and for that we stan. she was probably the most humorous character in the book. i would’ve liked to see more development from her, so i hope we see more of her in shadowcaster!

jenna was also an amazing character. what a survivor! she was definitely one of the most mysterious characters. ahh i can’t give away to much but i love her!

i’m sad we didn’t get to see a whole lot of destin’s character in book one, but there’s not a doubt in my mind that he will return in shadowcaster so i’m excited for that! i can’t wait to learn more about him.

all in all this book was a very cozy read and i savoured every page! the plot twist at the end left me craving more and i’m so excited to start the second book today! hopefully i’ll be back with a review of shadowcaster soon!
