Thing is as a person I’m sure he’s great for a role like that, he’s a known Nice Guy of Hollywood, he’s written and performed a lot of stuff that lives at the crossroads of funny and sweet, and he himself has been married an exorbitantly long time by Hollywood standards. My shock isn’t really about him so much. It’s the Taylor Swift of it that makes it a bonkers choice. I’d literally have been less surprised if you told me Kamala Harris had officiated. I’m not really a swiftie, just a normal-amount fan, so I don’t really know who her friend group is, but I just never figured Adam Sandler was in it.
