Shooting from last Sunday in a forest with a friend.
We had a wonderful time. Since I live in the city, I don't often go to the countryside. It was the first time in months when I visited my friend. Even the air tasted better!
Somehow the photos remind me of older days and photos on the German platform for lolitas dunkelsüß that sadly doesn't exist anymore. I think photos in the forest were really popular there. Before I started wearing lolita myself, I always lurked on dunkelsüß and was so jealous of the lolitas there! How quickly time passes, now I've been wearing lolita for over 11 years.
What is the gothic version of a snow fairy? A snow vampire? Anyways my dream of taking pictures in lolita in the snow came true!

End of the year lolita fashion bingo!
Did you manage to get bingo?
Mine looks like this:
9 and 24 for the ask game :)
9 Your favorite non-main piece (e.g. shoes, blouses, bags)
I think it's this headdress (upper one in this picture) that I could not itentify yet. It has baby's old school elegance and is very versatile.
24 What’s a motif/pattern you’d like to see more of?
I answered this one in another ask, but there are more motif I'd like to see more of. I love angel wings and would love to see more of them not only on main pieces but also on accessories. I hope the angel wing rings and bags will have a come back some day.
3,4,11, and 24 for the ask game! ☺️ sending you a bunch too :D

3 What is your cheapest piece?
It is and probably will always be Princess Skirt (2004? 2006?) by Baby the stars shine bright which I got 10 years ago on ebay for 5 Euros. The cheapest piece I got this year was Metas Ribbon OP with detachable collar for 5500 Yen on closet child. It was in a really bad condition and not really wearable, but I managed to fix it (more in 11)
4 What is your most expensive piece?
Since I sold my old holy grail ginger doll set from 2016 I would say Solid Color Raschel Lace Princess Sleeve OP (2025). I bought it directly from Meta's online shop and it is maybe a little bit too fancy for my usual style. I ordered it pretty late and it was alrealy too cold to wear it in Germany, so I can't wait to coord and wear it!
11 Did you do any DIY projects? What was it?
Thank you for asking this question because I actually did this year (well at least I fixed something if that counts)! At the beginning of my lolita journey I tried to DIY a lot only to find out that nothing I made was actually wearable XD I got frustrated and stopped trying. But this year I thought that I don't necessarily have to make something entirely by myself. I could try to fix some stuff I already have, so I actually made it to fix a dress that was heavily stained and discolored, to dye an ivory skirt to black and to change the buttons of a blouse since I didn't like the old ones. I hope these count as DIY projects ^-^'
24 What’s a motif/pattern you’d like to see more of?
I think I would like to see more dark floral prints, especially on cotton. I would love to see more lilies, more spider lilies, more roses and other plants in an elegant gothic way. I think most floral prints are very classic or sweet, we need more subtle dark ones.
5, 7 , 15
5 Did you get any pieces off of your wishlist?
Yes! I got Baby's Little Princess Coat (2006 or 2007) in black which has been on my wishlist for years! I had the same coat from a different release in ivory, but I really wanted to get it in black since I don't really wear light colored items anymore. I was so happy when I finally found it for a good price. I also got Solid Color Raschel Lace Princess Sleeve OP from this year's rerelease and hawase doll op (not sure which release) second hand after looking for it for over 10 years. So it was a good year in my lolita journey.
7 Did you get any brand this year?
Oh yes way too much since I finally managed to go to Japan again after six years and I had to get some items directly from the brands, especially from Baby, the stars shine bright.
15 Least worn piece?
There are a lot of main pieces I did not wear this year at all sadly since my style changed and I want to sell many items. But from the main pieces I would like to keep, I would say Embroidered pocket JSK from Baby since I really like it and would love to wear it more often. I kinda struggle to find the right items to coord it, but after seeing some really cute coords from other lolitas I feel more inspired and hope I can wear it more frequently next year.

My Japan hauls + freebies and some thoughts about shopping in Tokyo
I escalated a little bit since I haven't been in Japan for 6 years and then finally had the opportunity to buy stuff in physical stores. I also sold a lot of my older stuff since my style changed in the last years.
To be honest all the staff in all the stores I have been were very friendly. Some were more talkative and communicated a lot with me even though I was a new customer and they didn't know me. Some others concentrated more on regular customers, but still answered all the questions I had and took time for me just without much small talk.
Since I speak Japanese the language barrier was not an issue for me. Though I think most of the staff speak at least basic English and one can communicate with them without problems since the stores were often visited by foreign customers.
The best experience I had was at Angelic Pretty in Shinjuku city. The staff was very cute and nice. I was only there to look for a small present for a friend. The staff gave me really good advice and showed me a lot of cute stuff that could match her taste. She took so much time for me even though she knew I didn't want to spend much. I was really thankful for the good service and ended up buying an accessory for myself too.

Sadly I didn't bring much old school stuff to Japan which was a huge mistake.
