plot: your class slowly wakes up one by one from the simulation. you- being woken up pretty early on- decided to stay by gundham’s side until he woke up.

you were one of the many of your class to die, having been killed by kazuichi somewhere in the middle of the game. you woke up afterwards, eyes scanning the walls of what you first thought was your soul's final destination.

poor gundham. your boyfriend tried his best to stay strong throughout the entire trial, but everyone could see the pain in his eyes. his love was gone, to his knowledge. his dark companion, his paramour- taken from him all too soon. all because of that pink haired buffoon he called a classmate. and just when he started to like the guy...

"gundham," kazuichi looked at him helplessly, desperation in his voice for even the slightest bit of understanding from the much larger classmate in front of him, "you know it wasn't personal, right? i mean, come on, we would've all suffered if someone didn't die-"

"so why them," he muttered under his breathe, cutting the mechanic off. the whole class fell silent- this was the first thing gundham has said all trial...

"w-wha-" "why them?! you could have picked from any low mortal, but you chose them instead! you ripped my lover from my grasp!" gundham began shouting, slamming his fists down on the podium, gripping it so hard his already pale knuckles paled more. "truly, you are a foul demon sent to me by my demonic enemies," he continued rambling, "to take someone so dear to me from this world so soon. they were an angel, descended down from the heavens, sculpted by the goddess of beauty herself-"

"gundham.." hinata called out, but he was ignored, voice drowned out as gundham began screaming, shouting as tears rolled down his face.

"i have never seen a demon of such a low level- to take one's ONLY TRUE HOPE FROM HIM!"

monokuma could only laugh as gundham full on broke down, "such smart cookies, all of you! correct, once again, class! kazuichi souda killed y/n l/n! nyuknyuknyuk~!"

as the rest of the class watched kazuichi's elimination, all gundham could think about was survival. was it even worth it anymore? to survive without the one person he swore to protect.. and failed in doing so.

a hand fell onto his shoulder, and he looked down to see sonia. the princess smiled at him, comfortingly rubbing her friend's shoulder, "i know how much they meant to you," she said, tears welling up in her own eyes, "im going to miss them, too..." she was a good friend of yours as well. being so close to gundham meant she got to know you first, and you two became good friends, and occasionally cafe buddies.

gundham felt his throat clench, and he clung to the blonde in a tight hug, which she returned with equal strength as they sobbed into each other- sonia's cries small and fragile against gundham's loud, pained sobs.

you had sat at gundham's pod for a while, waiting for it to open with your hand pressed against the cold glass. you heard a gasp behind you, before a loud cry, and you knew almost immediately who it was. "sonia.." you said, smiling softly before opening your arms for a hug. she gladly accepted, running up to you with full force and nearly toppling your larger frame over. "you ha-had no idea how m-much we missed you, y/n," sonia sobbed into your shoulder, gripping at your clothes tigher, "gundham and i- we-.. i-.."

you shushed the poor girl, petting her head as she calmed down slowly, "i understand, i'm sorry for having left you both so soon..."

you both looked over to gundham's pod, watching the glass lift as your boyfriend came to. "hey there, sleepy head," you teased, letting go of sonia to pet the breeder's pepper hair, stroking it away from his face.

gundham could only look at you, shock plastered on his face, expression stuck like a fish out of water. "y-y/n.." he stuttered out finally, sitting up to get a closer look at you, "y/n!" he stumbled out of the pod, gripping onto you- similar to how sonia reacted, only this time, he managed to actually make you fall over. you chuckled, patting the boys back, "hey, hey, hey; don't cry. i'm here, baby boy, i'm here now..."

"i thought i had lost you, my dove," he said, pitifully mumbled into your shoulder so only you could hear. his voice sounded so weak.

"its alright, i know.. i'm so sorry..."

gundham let go, wiping his tears on his scarf, and you kissed him once more on the lips. "there, there," you hushed him. at this point, sonia and the rest of your class had been escorted out of the room. it was just you and him now. gundham clung to you for dear life, as if you were the very thing keeping his soul tethered to this realm. "gundham," you whispered softly, patting his hair, "let's go join the others, yea?"

"in a bit, darling," he said, nearly begging, "i'd like to just... hold you... in my arms, like this, just for a bit.." he added later, quietly, "please..?"

you sighed, nodding, placing a kiss to his forehead. after all, who knew how long you two had spent apart? who knew how much time you two had left? holding him for a minute or five wouldn't hurt either of you, and quite frankly thats all the either of you really wanted right now.

hh i wasn’t proud of how the end turned out so apologies for that :/
