⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ MATCHMAKING GONE WRONG⠀⠀✒⠀⠀ K. GW
⌖ genre: fluff
⌖ pairing: kim geonwoo as your crush
⌖ word count: 1,372
⌖ summary: you tried to set geonwoo up with your friend only to fall in love with him yourself instead
⌖ collaboration: The Wrong Match by @arafilez
From the very first moment you laid eyes on Kim Geonwoo on campus, you started mentally shipping him with your friend. He had that vibe that all her previous crushes had. Your friend said that you were ridiculous. You found yourself mentally creating a scenario in your head where the two of them would meet, fall in love, and live happily ever after.
Despite your friend's skepticism, you went ahead and befriended Kim Geonwoo, determined to set him up with her. You were convinced that they were perfect for each other, and you couldn't wait to see the look on your friend's face when they finally got together.
"Just wait," You said with a mischievous grin when she scoffed about the idea.
But what you didn’t see coming was that, in your endless campaign to promote Kim Geonwoo to your friend, you would be the one caught off guard, developing a crush on him yourself. You couldn't pinpoint the exact moment when your feelings changed, but it might have been the first time he showed his responsible and reliable side while taking the lead in the group project, or perhaps during the playful exchange you had while he rolled his eyes at your doodles in class before showing you some of doodles of his own on his notebook. Most of them were weird-looking, but you found them really cute.
Whatever the case, your heart started to race every time he was near. You found your thoughts and daydreams slowly being taken over by him.
You still couldn't shake off the fact that you had been mentally shipping him with your friend, who didn't even seem to feel very strongly about him in that way. So you found yourself avoiding him, hoping that the feelings would magically disappear.
So when you found yourself backed into a corner of the classroom one week later, with Kim Geonwoo standing in front of you, blocking any escape route, you didn't know what to do.

COTTON CANDY SWEATER geonwoo x reader. 337 words. fluff. not proofread.
GEONWOO's eyes furrowed as he stayed focused on carefully on dropping the right amount of cookie dough that he had just made onto the tray. in his horizontal striped, cotton candy coloured sweater, with an apron around his body, he gently put down the mixing bowl and sighed contently while looking at rows of perfectly placed cookie dough.
you were seated at the dining table across the kitchen, tapping away on your keyboard as you worked on your design. architecture was drawing the life out of you while this boy, whose back faced you, kept filling it back in. the clicking of your mouse and the tapping of the keys kept him at peace knowing you were there with him.
he turned around with his hands on his hips as the oven beeped start. his expression softened and the tips of his lips levitated with the softest curve as soon as his gaze landed on you. he rests his elbows on the kitchenette and stares at you with utter adoration pooling in his eyes. his eyes follow your actions, your furrowing eyebrows when something doesn't work right on your software, the little tug of your lips towards the left when you've fixed an error. he sees everything and he loves all of it.
you notice the silence and pry your eyes from your laptop screen, looking at geonwoo. you already find him looking at you and your mouth grows into a wide, flustered smile.
soft giggles exit his mouth followed by yours, as you get up from your place and walk to him. he's confused at first. you stop right in front of him, extend your hand to his nose to wipe off the flour perched on his skin. his eyes enlarge a little, realization hitting him.
you giggle and place a kiss to his right cheek. "you're so cute." he scoffs and responds, "im a grown man."
you place a kiss to his left cheek. "yeah with a cotton candy sweater and flour on your nose."

ah yes, the cute barista at the café near your highschool that you’ve been going to since middle school. lee sangwon. you’d remembered his name from the first time you saw him since his nametag had cute little flowers on it.
you flirted with him shamelessly— but it seemed like he thought you were just teasing him playfully. you liked him so much, how could he not realize it?
as you’re walking to the café with your friend yunah, you say, burying your face in your hands, “if sangwon doesn’t see the signs this time, i’m seriously jumping off a cliff.”
LAST FESTIVAL ˙⋆✮
shinyu x reader
synopsis ~ what happens when you meet the man of your dreams at your favorite music festival?
cw: kissing
ᢉ𐭩 It was so hot. The type of summer heat that makes you think you're just melting into the earth. Honestly, Lollapalooza is the only festival where you can be dripping with sweat and still feel like you’re on cloud 9.
There I was, at the front for a show I had been desperate to see. The sun was setting, casting a golden haze on the set, and the crowd was electric with anticipation. Then, the music started, and the whole crowd just came alive with energy. I barely knew how to keep myself together. This was it, the moment I'd been waiting for at freaking lollapalooza !
But then I saw him. The tall man next to me. He was close enough that I could feel the heat from his body as the crowd shifted back and forth, but not close enough. It was enough to catch a glimpse of him without him invading my space. He was totally immersed in the music. His eyes were closed, his head moving up and down with the rhythm, a small smile playing on the corner of his mouth. I couldn't help but notice how handsome he was. I mean his angelic features shined even during the sunset.
We were both caught up in the same vibe, as if we were on the same frequency. We were moving to the same rhythm, even though we hadn't even said a word to each other.
When the band began playing my favorite song, I couldn't help but glance at him. My eyes were open wide, maybe a little too wide (😩), and I couldn't help but smile.
"Mmh, you know this one too?" I said, laughing half-heartedly. "I figured I was the only one who had all the words memorized."
He smiled at me, the smile widening, as if he was pleased that I was so into it too. "You have good taste," he said playfully.
I didn't know whether he was talking about the music or about me, but it didn't matter because my heart did that silly fluttery thing anyway.
The rest of the show was a blur of flashing neon lights and the rhythm was thudding through me. All the time, I couldn't help catching him looking at me. Whenever our eyes met, I felt this electric shock. ( fx mentioned😳)
After it was all finished, I was kind of disappointed. I was fried, but I didn’t want it to be over yet. Everything became a blur, before I knew it, I was walking with him. He didn’t say a word, and I didn’t even think about it, I just followed him. We trailed through the crowd together as if we'd been doing it for hours.
"Now what?" I said, rather irresponsible. "Want to go see another show or something?"
He smiled. "I don't know… you seem like you'd be fun. I'd go around with you for a while."
I laughed, unsure if he was serious or not. But the way he looked at me like he was actually enjoying just being with me made me feel like I was the only person in the whole world.
We ended up sitting near the food trucks, where it was pretty quiet, and just talked. He offered to buy me food but I ate so much before I came to the set that I couldn’t bother eating. It was strange how comfortable it was for us to talk. He wasn't this perfect guy, but there was something that made me want to keep listening. (jk he is 😏)
We were just making fun of each other, talking about the songs of our favorite bands, and I helplessly stared at his lips whenever he said anything. His voice was smooth and a little raspy, as if it was created for late night conversation. I also caught him stealing glances at me once, eyes roaming over my face with this look that ran a shiver down my spine.
“You're not like all the other people around here," he said, leaning forward a little bit closer. I could feel the heat radiating from his skin.
I raised my eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
He shrugged, but his eyes wrinkled at the corners . "I don't know. I like that you're not attempting to be someone you're not."
I couldn't help grinning. "I can say the same for you".
We moved from set to set throughout the rest of the evening. He was constantly right next to me, his shoulder brushing against mine at times, it was as if there was this kinda tension between us. Like we were just waiting for something to happen. While the crowd danced and cheered on a band both of us enjoyed, I looked over at him, and he was looking back at me, lips parted, eyes dark.
He leaned in closer, speaking softly. "Wanna get out of here?".
My heart skipped a beat. There was something in the way he said it so casual, like nothing, and at the same time I could sense the motive of something else. I nodded stupidly desperate to be near him.
We pushed out of the crowd, walking across the festival grounds, around the lights and music. It was cooler now, I felt the seriousness of the situation. As though there was a choice we both had to make, despite not saying anything about it. We stopped in a less crowded section of the park, the lights of the festival still glowing softly in the distance.
He edged towards me, his face serious, the smile he'd had before wiped off. There was a look in the way he looked at me, as if waiting for permission, but not exactly asking for it. His breathing was deep, deliberate, like he was trying to keep himself together, but wasn't succeeding there. I didn't know what I was doing at all, but I couldn't stop myself from taking another step forward.
"I've wanted to kiss you from the beginning," he whispered, his voice low. "But I don't want to push you." He looked up with soft, gentle eyes.
I was holding my breath in my throat. My internal self was shouting at him to just kiss me, but the way he said it. I understood he was giving me the choice.
I drew him in, my lips against his, we both were feeling out the waters. But that softness didn't last long. His hand went to the nape of my neck, drawing me in, and the kiss intensified slow, deliberate. He wasn't in any hurry, wasn't forcing it, but I could sense his hunger, the way his body was reacting to mine.
His lips were warm, his hands firm but soft. For one moment I forgot everything. The moment seemed to last forever, the feeling of his lips clouding my brain.
When we stepped back, I was gasping harder than I expected, my stomach and chest rising and falling. I could also hear his breath coming out unsteady. We both just stood for a moment, looking at each other. I didn't know if we were both equally stunned, or just holding our breath for someone to break it. But he smiled, slow and easy, as if he very much knew what we'd just done.
"I wanted that too," I panted, my words shaking, still resonating with the kiss.
He smiled softly, his hand tracing the line of my jaw. "I thought so."
We did not need to say anything else. The rest of the evening was ours, just the two of finding each other in the crowd of lights. For once, it seemed like the music didn't have to be the priority. ᢉ𐭩

The KQ practice room door creaks open just as Hunter spins around, mid-laugh with Yujun. His face lights up when he sees you standing there—wearing a jacket, sunglasses on, clutching a bag of celebratory bubble teas.
"Y/N!!" he yells, practically tackling you with a hug. "What the hell—how did you even get past security?"
"I'm a soloist, not an amateur," you tease, handing him the drink with his name scribbled in Sharpie. "Congrats on your debut, superstar."
"I can't believe you actually came," he beams, already pulling you inside like a golden retriever. "Everyone, this is Y/N—my best friend-slash-kpop legend—"
"I'm not a legend—"
"They're being humble," he says over you.
You nod politely to the rest of the room. A few of the xikers members wave, clearly recognizing you.
Everyone… except one.
He's sitting in the corner, legs spread out, sipping something from a pouch like he's the main character in a teen drama. Blonde bangs falling slightly over his brow. That face is too pretty, and he definitelyknows it.
He glances up, eyes flicking over you once.
Then he scoffs.
"Who are you supposed to be?"
You blink.
Hunter nearly chokes on his drink. "Bro—what?? That's Y/N. THE Y/F/N."
Seeun shrugs like he didn't just say something mildly offensive. "Never heard of them."
Your brows lift, but your smile stays polite. "No worries. I don't expect everyone to know me."
"Good," he says with a lazy smirk, "because I don’t."
Junghoon makes a noise like he's witnessing live beef.
Hunter nudges Seeun's side. "Dude, you literally watched their 'Venomous' stage and said they looked hot—"
"I said the choreo was clean," Seeun corrects sharply, refusing to make eye contact.
You just hum, stepping past him to set the rest of the drinks down. "Anyway, congrats again, Hunter. I know how hard you worked for this."
He gives you a grateful smile and whispers, "Ignore Seeun. He's like that with people he finds hot."
You blink. "What?"
"Nothing!" Hunter blurts, eyes wide like a deer in headlights.
You raise a brow, but choose not to press. Instead, you let him drag you toward the couch, where a few of the other xikers boys have already made space for you.
"Okay, spill," you say, offering him one of the drinks you brought. "How are you feeling? Has it hit you yet that you're literally debuted now?"
Hunter grins, his whole face lighting up. "It's been insane. I haven't slept properly in like, a week, but seeing fans scream for us is definitely worth every second."
"That's so good to hear," you smile. "And the response online Everyone's obsessed with your dance line."
Hunter rubs the back of his neck, bashfully nodding. "I'm trying to keep my head on straight. But your message yesterday helped a lot. Really."
You blink. "You're telling me I comforted you?"
"You always do," he shrugs, like it's obvious.
Before you can get sentimental, Minjae pops up beside you, extending a hand and a warm smile.
"Hey, I'm Minjae. Just wanted to say I'm a big fan of your work."
You shake his hand. "Thank you. Your vocals are incredible, by the way. I saw the showcase clips—you ate."
He beams. "You're too kind. If you ever need someone for a collab… I mean—" He clears his throat, laughing nervously. "Just putting it out there."
One by one, the other members come over to greet you, introduce themselves, and crack jokes. Everyone's friendly, loud, and a little chaotic—in that way only freshly debuted boy groups are.
Everyone… except one.
You glance over to the far side of the room. Seeun is sitting stiffly by the water cooler, scrolling on his phone with a blank expression. Every so often, you catch his eyes flicking toward you. And every time he notices you noticing—he immediately looks away, ears slightly pink.
Weird.
Still, he doesn't say anything. Doesn't even greet you.
Minjae notices.
"Yah," he says, walking past Seeun and giving him a soft smack on the shoulder. "Don't be disrespectful. Y/N's our senior."
"I'm not being disrespectful," Seeun mutters, still not looking up.
"Then come say hi, dude."
"I'm busy."
"You're scrolling through TikTok."
Seeun stands abruptly, grabbing his water bottle and heading toward the door without another word.
The room goes quiet for a second.
You blink. "What's up with him?"
Hunter frowns. "I… don't know. He seemed fine before."
"Before I came?" you ask, tone curious—not offended.
"Yeah…" Hunter nods slowly.
Yechan pipes in from the corner, mouth half full of chips. "Weird. Seeun never acts like this before. He's usually the loudest one in the room."
You lean back on the couch, eyes narrowing slightly. "Hm. Interesting."
Hunter gives you a side-eye. "You're thinking something."
You smirk. "I'm not thinking anything."
The backstage hallway is buzzing with idols—staff running around with clipboards, stylists touching up last-minute details, stage managers yelling countdowns. The walls practically hum with anticipation.
You're standing near one of the corner lounge tables, chatting easily with Keeho from P1Harmony. He's leaned forward slightly, laughing at something you just said, his bright personality shining like always.
"You seriously wore that to rehearsal?" you grin.
"Okay first of all, it was laundry day," Keeho says dramatically, "and second of all, I was serving."
You snort. "Serving something, that's for sure."
He gasps in mock offense and flicks your arm.
A few steps away, Seeun turns the corner. He's got his water bottle in hand, earphones half in, looking like he's searching for someone—or maybe just wandering.
The moment he sees you laughing with Keeho, he freezes.
Keeho nudges your shoulder gently, still mid-story, and you laugh again, covering your mouth. You lean into him like you've known each other for years. You have.
Seeun's jaw twitches.
He was heading your way. You can tell—his path, his pace, his whole damn vibe. But the moment his eyes meet yours…
He turns.
Full 180.
He turns the other way without a word, walking off like he suddenly remembered he left the stove on.
You frown, watching his retreating back. "Huh…"
Keeho notices. "Who are you looking at?"
You blink and shake your head. "No one."
Meanwhile, Seeun storms into the xikers waiting room with a deep frown etched into his face.
Minjae's humming, Sumin's adjusting his mic, and Hunter's sitting on the couch scrolling his phone when he sees Seeun enter—looking like he just witnessed his crush get proposed to.
"Yo," Hunter says, raising an eyebrow. "Why's your face like that?"
Seeun doesn't answer immediately. He throws his water bottle on the table (gently, but still dramatic) and plops down in a sulk.
Then, unprompted, he mutters—
"Hey. What's Y/N's relationship with Keeho sunbaenim?"
Hunter blinks. "Um… what?"
Seeun looks away, chewing on the inside of his cheek. "I just saw them. Talking. Laughing. Being weirdly close."
Hunter tilts his head. "Okay… and?"
"They looked flirty."
"Bro." Hunter lowers his phone. "You're jealous."
"I'm not jealous," Seeun snaps, too fast.
Hunter stares.
"You've been acting weird since Y/N visited the company and now you're interrogating me about their love life."
"I'm not interrogating," Seeun grumbles.
Hunter raises both hands. "Okay then. Chill."
Seeun leans back in the chair with a frustrated sigh.
"I just don't like how… touchy Keeho was. He was flicking their arm. That's weird, right?"
"Seeun."
"WHAT?"
Hunter stares.
"…you literally do that to me all the time."
"That's different!!"
Hunter starts laughing. "You're unbelievable."
Seeun groans, pulling his hoodie over his head.
"…I'm not jealous," he mumbles from inside the fabric cave.
Hunter just smirks.
"You're gone. You're so gone for them."
The hallway's quieter now—most groups are packing up or heading toward press photos. You're walking toward the dressing room with a towel around your shoulders, mic pack clipped to your waistband and a water bottle in hand.
Then you see him.
Seeun.
Still in his stage outfit—black leather with silver chain details and a snug harness hugging his waist. His blond hair is damp from sweat, falling over his eyes. He's coming from the opposite end of the hallway, looking straight ahead.
Until he sees you.
He stops.
So do you.
You hesitate—then offer a polite nod, already stepping to the side to pass him.
But unexpectedly, he speaks first.
"You were really enjoying yourself back there."
You blink. "Sorry?"
"With Keeho sunbaenim."
You freeze for a second, turning to face him. "Excuse me?"
"You looked… comfortable. Flirty, even." His tone is sharp, his arms crossed. "Didn't think you were that type."
You stare, mouth slightly parted.
"…What type?"
"The type who clings to someone like that."
You blink slowly. "Wow."
Seeun scoffs under his breath, but doesn't move.
"What's your problem with me?" you finally ask, quiet but steady.
He flinches.
"You've been weird ever since I met you. Pretending not to know me, avoiding eye contact, acting like I run over your dog with my car—and now you're throwing weird accusations like I'm out here trying to seduce the industry?”
He shifts uncomfortably, jaw tight.
"You don't even know me, Seeun," you add, shaking your head. "We're not even friends."
That stings him.
You can see it. The flicker of something behind his eyes. But instead of softening, he steps closer.
"Exactly," he mutters. "We're not friends. So why does it bother me?"
"…Bother you?"
"Forget it," he growls, brushing past you.
You turn on your heel. "No. You don't get to start a fight and walk away like that."
He stops.
You continue, your voice firmer now. "I came to support Hunter. I was polite to you. I didn't ask for whatever this attitude is."
Silence. He doesn't turn around.
"I've been nothing but respectful," you add, voice quiet again. "So seriously… what did I even do?"
His fists are clenched at his sides, knuckles white. You see the tension in his shoulders. But he says nothing. Just keeps standing there, back to you, breathing heavy in his stage outfit like he’s about to combust.
And then—
He walks away.
And you stand there—heart beating too loud in your ears, hands curled into loose fists, blinking in disbelief.
What the hell was that?
You hesitate for a second.
Then your feet move before your brain does.
"Seeun!" you call.
He doesn't stop.
"Seeun, what is wrong with you!?"
Still no reaction. Just the back of his leather stage outfit getting farther, hair bouncing slightly with each angry step.
You break into a jog. "Ya! I'm not done talking—!"
And then—
CRASH.
You slam into his back a little harder than you meant to, probably because your balance was off, probably because you were too worked up. But you barely get the chance to process it because the next thing you know—
THUD.
You both go down.
Your shoulder bumps the wall. His weight knocks into you. One leg tangled between yours. Your palm flat on the floor, his hand nearly slipping until he catches himself—right above your head.
You're nose to nose.
Breath to breath.
Eyes wide.
His lips are parted slightly, like he's about to speak, but his brain short-circuited. You're too shocked to move.
"Are you okay?" he asks finally, voice low.
You blink.
"I'm fine. Just a little… concussed by your attitude."
He groans and looks away, but doesn't move off you. His arms are trembling slightly from holding himself up. His chain accessory dangles inches from your face.
"You're such an idiot," you mutter.
He snaps his eyes back to yours. "I'm an idiot? You're the one chasing after someone who clearly—"
He stops.
You squint. "Who clearly what?"
He grits his teeth.
"Clearly doesn't know how to handle this," he mutters.
You pause. "Handle what?"
You watch him swallow. His jaw tenses.
"This—" he gestures vaguely, still hovering over you. "You. Talking to me. Smiling at everyone else. Making me—feel things."
Your chest tightens. "So you do know me."
"I know of you," he admits. "I've seen your stages. Every one. You're good. Too good. And I hated that."
You blink. "Hated?"
"Because the second I saw you in person, I realized…" He hesitates. "It's not just the stage persona. It's you."
He lowers his voice.
"You're kind. Confident. Charming. Funny. You're close with Hunter. You're close with everyone. And I—"
His voice cracks slightly.
"—I didn't know how to be close to you. So I did the opposite."
Your heartbeat skips.
"You've been rude to me since day one," you say, not coldly. Just… honestly.
"I know," he whispers. "I didn't know how else to protect myself."
You stare up at him, lips parted slightly. The tension in your chest starts to dissolve. But the air between you is still thick—like something fragile just cracked and spilled open.
"Then tell me," you whisper. "If you don't hate me… what do you feel?"
He looks like he's about to combust. One hand comes up, shaking slightly, as if he wants to touch your face. But he stops himself.
"I don't hate you," he murmurs. "I think I like you. Too much. And it scares the hell out of me."
You breathe in slowly.
And before either of you can think twice—
He lets his hand fall against your cheek, gentle, like it’s the only thing keeping him from losing it completely.
"I'm sorry," he says softly. "I'm really, really sorry for being a dick."
Your fingers curl around the front of his shirt.
"I told you, you were an idiot."
His mouth twitches. "You're not wrong."
You both burst into quiet laughter.
Still tangled. Still on the ground.
Still not quite sure what this is… but suddenly? It doesn’t feel so confusing anymore.
You're still catching your breath, tangled up on the hallway floor, Seeun's hand gently resting against your cheek like the world just cracked open and let in some kind of clarity. You don’t even realize how close your faces are. How intimate this entire moment is. Until—
"BROOOOOO WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE—"
You both snap your heads up just in time to see all nine xikers members piling around the corner, jaws dropping in unison.
Hunter's face is priceless. "Is this why you ran off looking like you saw a ghost?!"
Yechan’s already halfway doubled over. "I KNEW IT. I KNEW ITTTT."
Jinsik points dramatically at Seeun. "You know what? Just confess properly, man! Seriously."
"Yeah!" Yujun joins in, grinning. "Don't half-ass it!"
And then—like absolute feral high schoolers—the whole group starts chanting:
"CONFESS! CONFESS! CONFESS!"
"CONFESS! CONFESS! CONFESS!"
Seeun looks like he wants to melt through the floor. He groans, dropping his head against your shoulder for a second like he's bracing for death.
Then he sits up, face red as a tomato.
"FINE."
He inhales—
"ILIKELIKEREALLYLIKEYOUANDIWASSODUMBABOUTITBUTINEVERMEANTTOBEAMESSANDYOUREJUSTREALLYCOOLANDFUNNYANDI'MSTUPIDLYINTOYOUANDTHISISWEIRDANDSCARYBUTALSOYOUMAKEMECRAZYSO—YEAH."
The hallway is dead silent for half a second.
You blink at him.
Then you burst out laughing.
Seeun looks at you like a kicked puppy. "What??"
You wipe a tear from your eye. "I… I didn't catch half of that."
He groans again. "I hate this group."
But you smile, eyes softening. "Well… you know, I've just met you, but seeing how dedicated all of you are—and you being brave enough to confess in the middle of a literal hallway chant—I might as well give you a chance, right?"
Seeun blinks. "Wait… seriously?"
You nod.
"Really? Even after I was a dick to you?"
You shrug. "I mean… it was intentional, right? I can respect the commitment." You grin.
He laughs nervously, scratching the back of his head. "Wow. Okay. Uh… do you wanna maybe go on a date? When I'm free?"
The hallway explodes.
"WOOOOOO!!"
"Y/N SAID YESSSS!!"
Minjae claps his hands like a mom at a wedding. "Okay, okay—BUT. Make sure to keep it lowkey, alright? We're rookies. No scandal, please."
"Yeah, keep it lowkey," Hyunwoo adds. "I'm not trying to get blacklisted before I turn twenty."
Seeun grins, grabbing your hand as you pull yourself up. "I promise I won't mess it up."
You glance at him, still holding your hand, ears burning, but smiling wide.
"You better not."
i acc love this!!!

► description: the bright neon lights and heavy bass music showed the happy aura of the infamous ‘cupid’s game’ stall in the amusement park. rumor has it that once you come out, you’re gonna fall in love with the person you shot.
“this is gonna be so fun!” your roommate keita yells in excitement as you trudged behind him. “yeah, sureeee” you dragged out. keita stopped in his tracks looking all offended. “y/n, this is the legendary cupid’s game we’re talking about! hell, you could possibly find your soulmate in this!” he cried out loud. you rolled your eyes at his dramatic reaction.
“keita, as my roommate, you know i’m not looking for anyone at the moment right?” you deadpan. keita looked at you in disgust,
“like you almost didn’t ask for yedam for his num–“
“oKAY, LETS GO TO CUPID’S GAME NOW HEHE” you slapped your hand to his mouth. “thought so, bitch” he gave you the side eye before dragging you to the direction of the place.
—
“are you sure you want to play this?” you ask keita for the nth time upon arriving at the stall. keita was already signing the two of you for the game.
“yeah. it’s gonna be fun. its like laser tag but with a price to pay you know?” he shrugs. you look at him as if he was crazy.
“so you’re just gonna risk meeting the possible future mrs. terazono just because of this game?!” you gasp. he rolls his eyes.
“yeah like i didn’t have the nickname sneaky swiper for nothing. this would be a piece of cake” before you could react any further. an employee handed the two of you, game wavers and name tags.
====================================
‘I agree with the terms and conditions of playing this game. any forms of cheating will be automatically kicked out from the arena. watch out and have fun!
warning: incase you get shot, it’s not the company’s fault who you end up with. so please don’t send us an angry email about your situation. you have been warned.
please sign here if you are ready to play, ___________.’
====================================
you stare at keita who just blindly signed the waver without even reading it. “did you even read the whole thing?” you ask keita. keita looks up at you and grins.
“nope. hurry up and sign it so we could play” you took a glance at him one last time before muttering, “here goes nothing” you took a breath and signed the waver, handing it to the employee who was waiting.
“follow me” the employee orders. taking you and keita to the changing room
—
“okay. so here’s your bow and arrow hearts. use them wisely for the next 30 minutes. there would be other people joining the two of you. try and not to get shot. it’s that easy.” the employee explains the rules. you look over at keita who’s jumping in his seat. “i’ll see you on the other side!!” he says excitedly.
“okay, timer starts… now!” the employee opens the door to the arena. you see keita run off to who knows where.
“WAIT KEITA DONT leave.. me” you tried to catch up to him but it was no use. he’s gone. “great. now i’m stuck here for the next 1 hour” you grumble, walking towards a bakery. you took a peek inside and saw, nothing but then you heard heavy footsteps. you quickly hid behind the counter, putting your arrow hearts in place in case the person decides to jump out of no where.
“fucking finally. some quiet place to hide.” you hear the person sigh in relief. you hear the chair squeak indicating they took a seat. you hear the person stand up and walk around. as they got to the counter, you popped your head up making the poor stranger jump in surprise.
“oH MY GOD PLEASE DONT SHOOT ME” the tall looking boy tries desperately to grab his arrow hearts and his bow behind him. due to shaking hands, he dropped them to the floor. the boy looked like a flustered mess. you took a glance at him. he was wearing an all black outfit. black sweater with black ripped jeans with his hair tousled. he looked kinda hot
“like what you see.. uhh, y/n?” he reads your name tag. you felt your cheeks get red. “I do not!… yoonbin” you read his name tag. he looked kinda smug from then on.
“so what are you doing here? were you hiding?” he asks.
“why should I tell you? for all i know you could shoot me right now?” you raised an eyebrow at him.
“sis, i’m literally hiding as well if you can’t notice. my friends dragged me into this and people have been gushing over this place. they say they found their ‘soulmates’ in this game and i think we should really sue their companies for using, magic or some voodoo shit. shit’s illegal” he rambled.
“okay then smartass, i was hiding as well” you confessed. “great now we have… 40 more minutes to wait till this shit is over. so why won’t we get to know each other?” yoonbin looks over at his watch and grabs the seat in front of him, patting it.
—
“that’s wild. for a first timer” you complimented him. he showed his gummy smile for the nth time today. “thanks. I know” he batted his eyelashes making you roll your eyes.
“I think time’s almost up. let’s actually try and play for a bit. you know? to not waste 30$ for this” you stood up from your seat, stretching and grabbing your things.
“okay. i’ll see you later” he waves goodbye to you as you jogged out of the bakery.
you’ve been walking around the arena for about 10 minutes now.
“why is keita so fascinated with this stuff. this is the most boring thing i’ve ever played” you kicked a rock. unfortunately to your luck, the rock bounced to a metal wall and it made a loud noise.
“goddamn it. fuck!” you muttered to yourself before rapidly looked around for a place to hide. you found a small spot in the bushes and quickly ran over there and squatted down, getting your arrow hearts ready. you see a person’s leg and you quickly shot the arrow at it.
“ouch!” a familiar voice cries. you jumped out of the bush to see yoonbin standing there with your arrow heart stuck to his leg. you ran up to him, grabbing his arm,
“oh my god, are you okay?!” you ask him, worry evident in your voice. he plucks the arrow heart from his leg, flicking it away.
“yeah. it just felt like i got bitten by an ant. no worries” he pats your head. before you could say anything, the loud bell rings indicating that it was over.
“it’s over! yay!” yoonbin celebrates. “c’mon. let’s go back now” he grabs your hand dragging you to the lobby where the scoreboards could be seen.
“oOf, jihoon’s gonna be a player real soon” you hear yoonbin laugh as he reads that his friend jihoon ranked #1 with a total of 6 shots.
“i think he stole everyone since literally after him and 2 other people including you got at least 1 shot” he observes. you nod your head in agreement.
“y/n! there you are!” you hear your roommate yell out from the crowd.
“is that your boyfriend?” you almost could hear the disappointment from yoonbin’s voice. you quickly shook your head rapidly.
“god, ew. no! he’s my roommate” you exclaimed. “y/n~~ oH, yoonbin! my man what’s up?!” keita greets yoonbin with a bro hug. “kEITA!!” yoonbin returns the bro hug.
“you two know each other?” you stood awkwardly between the two boys. “yeah. he’s my classmate in music class” yoonbin explains. you nod your head in approval.
“we should get going now. it’s gonna be late” keita reminds you. “oh shit. i still have a test to study for. yeah let’s go” you tell him.
you rushed to get your bag and other things from the baggage counter till a hand stops you. “hmm?” you look up to meet the eyes of yoonbin.
“i know this is sudden but, c-can i have your number..?” he stutters. you blushed again and nodded, giving him your phone number.
“i’ll see you around?” he hoped. you laughed, “i think we’d be seeing each other often soon” you winked before walking away from ‘cupid’s game’ with keita.
“so, what was that girlie?” keita asks you on the escalator. “nothing” you smile at him. keita gave you a cheeky wink, before laughing out loud. you felt a buzz in your pocket. you grabbed your phone and saw a notification.
