Why is everyone celebrating Women’s Day?

It was a pretty normal day. I wokeup and checked my phone. My phone couldn’t stop vibrating for the next one minute. I started to wonder what had happened. I mean I for sure knew it was Women’s Day but what is so special about it this year? Why is everyone wishing women in their lives today? Do you really need a special day out of the normal 365 to realise the importance of women in your life? It seems quite strange to me that the people who are generally criticising women in their routine days are putting up a big smile and actually posting quotes stating how their life would be in ruins if not for women. It feels abhorrent to even think how they’d go on to be their normal selves the very moment the date on the calendar changes. No is one forcing you to send out forwarded messages or be at the mercy of women on this one particular day. Don’t pretend for a day when you’re going to suppress her and bring her down the very next. If you’re going to eye the same women with sinister motives then don’t smile at her today. Don’t make them feel wanted or special.  Because the worst thing to do to someone is to show them the clouds and then bring them to the ground.

Air India? Never again!

As everyone was heading back home for the long weekend+Dussehra holidays, I too had my tickets booked. I get a text from Air India about their flight being rescheduled at 9:20 while their actual time was 7:30. I was still okay about it. My sister too had her tickets of the same flight. She reached the airport prior to me and got her boarding pass. Because I was running late I asked her to request them to issue a boarding pass for me. For which they refused. Okay normal airlines protocol. But she calls me later to tell me the flight has further been delayed. I managed to reach the airport at 9 for my flight at 10:15 now. Stood in the line to collect my boarding pass while noticing some sort of chaos. Random uncles shouting at the desks. I figured they had some problem. I finally had my turn and I was told very casually that the flight had been ‘overbooked’. OVERBOOKED?

Well I was supposed to go the Air India supervisor desk. I went there and already found her being surrounded by angry passengers with the same problem travelling in various Air India flights. After a lot of ruckus that lady managed to disappear with no one left to answer our queries. My sister who is apparently suffering from Chikanguniya ran all over the airport so we could catch a flight back home. But we were denied our boarding passes despite confirmed tickets. All our complaints were falling on deaf years as the staff refused to listen to us or our problems. They were busy chatting and receiving phone calls. After 4 hours of standing at the counters we were issued boarding passes for the first flight in the morning. After much requests we were also given a hotel to stay in which was quite shady. But we agreed cause what mattered was that we were finally going home. Air India, well you can eat shit!

How often do we think about others? Or let alone others. How often do we think about ourselves? Where we are going? How often do we analyse situations? How often do we make others happy? How often do we become happy by making others? How often are we actually happy? How often do we help others? How often do we push ourselves? How often do we strive? How often do we get what we want? Where we are or what we want to be?  Where you are standing, is it the place where you want to be?

Lucknow ✈️ Delhi

School life ended and so did the alliance with the school friends. While everybody else was excited for a new life ahead in college I sat nervously in a corner. I’m someone who doesn’t really make friends or is comfortable with talking to new people. My biggest challenge was going to a completely new city, amongst new people and finding mutual interests.

Lucknow is a city of culture and respect. It is basically a food paradise and will make you fall in love with the peace and friendliness of people. It surely does lack the glitz and glam of a metro city but who cares anyway? It is serene. Period.

Anyway. College happened. Noida happened. Lucknow to Ncr. I had all sorts of questions about living there. I had visited Delhi a lot of times but never really made friends. Or even thought about living there. Moving out of my city was a whole lot of paranoia for me. Well I still managed. I did make friends. With a lot of difficulty. Few selected close friends. But the good part is all my friends are sweethearts :D

Delhi is a fast city. Everyone is too consumed here to even care about others. You travel enormous amounts of distances waiting for hours in traffic to go somewhere. The people are well....okayish (My friends are amazing though). The food is duh. Why are we even talking about food? Like hello! Lucknow food <3<br>The place overall is fine. One can enjoy here a lot. Shop a lot. But if I want to stay here for the rest of my life? Heck NO!!! I’m running out of here as fast as I can.  Cause there is no place like Lucknow. No place like home <3</p>
