As I get cracking on a RepComm fic I have to clarify like 90% of Delta squadās characterization in it comes from the game itself and from what Iāve read from the books (snippets, summaries from wookiepedia, that shit.). Thereās prob gonna be stuff Iāll miss but like. Iām not reading several books that barely feature Delta Squad and instead center around characters I couldnāt give less of a shit about, personally.

AU in which Mark accidentally kills the Captain during their final standoff, and successfully sends himself and the warp core back in time.
He believes everything is fine. He fixed the warp core and stopped the Captain from sabotaging it. Now they can finally proceed with their journey like they were supposed to.
All thatās left is to āmeetā the Captain, exceptā¦ theyāre not HIS Captain. Not the one who saved him from getting sucked into the vacuum of space. Not the one who stopped him from attacking Wug. Not the one who has lived and died by his side across thousands of lives. Not the one that remembers every life they spent together. They are justā¦ the Captain. The one who just arrived to the Invincible II.
Something in Marksās heart hurts when the Captain doesnāt recognize him. He tries to ignore it, itās better the Captain doesnāt know how they destroyed the universe, but it still hurts nonetheless. Who wouldāve thought you would become attached to the one person who faced death after death with you.
It doesnāt matter now though. The Captain Mark knew was dead. Heā¦ killed them. He saw the blood pooling under their skull, the way their breathing slowed to a stop. Now he was alone. The sole bearer of the thousands of universes destroyed, all the lives lost.
But that was over now. He fixed it. Now all thatās left is to go to cryosleep and wake up at their new home.
Except thatās not what happens. Mark wakes up, early, to the sounds of alarms blaring and the computerās warnings. Heās back at the beginning and the Captain is staring at him with a horror he hasnāt seen since his first death.
