Writer intro or something

Hey! I’m G.J, I’m an aspiring writer and (kind of) fanfic writer! I wrote KOTOR fanfic when I was like 12 and was never the same again. I’m particularly fond of dark fantasy and gay knight stuff!

current interests: Ultrakill, Dark Souls, Hollow Knight and Silksong, Berserk, Knights, Clone Wars Stuff (including Bad Batch), and Cyberpunk (both 2077 and Edgerunners)

here are some of my WIP’s!

Tales of the Sculpted Lands (my magnum opus): A Dark Fantasy anthology, about various stories and myths of the ever-evolving sculpted lands. (Inspo: Berserk, Demon’s Souls, ICO trilogy)

Chaos Travelers: A dragon bard with a southern accent, a lost android from another world, a cat lady with magic paint, and a runaway knight in an identity crisis come together to explore a world below theirs in search of a mysterious deity. The results? Absolute madness. (Inspo: Dungeon Meshi, Belkinus Necro Hunt, Frieren)

Gaudium/Violentiae: Humanity is trapped in eternal, almost fantastical warfare by eldritch aliens, and only one of these evolved humans, Wesson, remembers what the world once was, so now they’re attempting to leave this behind, and see if violence really is humanity’s natural state. (Inspo: Ultrakill, I Have No Mouth, Godhusk, Scorn)

Breathtaker (COD fic): Soap and Ghost didn't get along too well when they first joined 141 (Or did they?) but all that changes when their mission to Greenland goes sideways.

NO APPEAL (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners fic): David and Lucy go on a date to escape Night City's chaos and cruelty, but his body dysmorphia only gets in the way. It’s all just for him, though, to get stronger and make a name for himself, right? Will it eat him alive, or will he find a way through it with some help?

LunuL: about three bounty hunters in the year 2190. they trek across the Solar System being mediocre at their jobs and accidentally get wrapped up in several conspiracies and near death experiences. (Inspo: Cowboy Bebop, the Mandalorian, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and a bunch of other sci fi shit)

Viscered: About a father taking care of his 10 month old son after the death of his wife, and his past as a bio weapon coming back to bite him in the ass. (Inspo: Prototype, Berserk, Logan)

Our Lonely Ocean: About a prince-turned squire and his commander, and their many, many shenanigans as they stumble into romance while hunting monsters together. (Inspo: Adastra, Dungeon Meshi…and a little bit of Peter Hart) (REWORK ONGOING)

Triloknight Yearning: A holy knight, Omnidon, is a week into a mapping expedition of the northern coast alongside a newly-knighted dragon wrangler named Leos. As Omnidon's feelings bubble out of control, will he confess his love for Leos, or will he remain forever silent and ashamed?

so many people ive known have pushed themselves to burnout trying to deny their disabled reality, skipping accommodations, skipping rests etc. and the world convinces them that the solution to their burnout is to push even harder. it’s a huge tragedy. i know social pressures make it tough but i want more disabled people to make things easier for themselves where possible, to opt out of things that harm them when possible, to quit while they’re ahead. be that person today! protect yourself where you can! take micro breaks while doing your hobby. get that shower chair. sit to brush your teeth. lie down in the middle of the day, even if only for 5 mins. these things add up and it’s so worth it.

racism runs so deeply in people that if you call it out you are calling out them, and instead of sitting down and examining their own racism they lash out at you for being sooo meansies to them. you don't even have to be talking about anyone's racist behavior in particular because it makes racists so uncomfortable they will come forward themselves and act like you're targeting them specifically. it's okay when they do it because they're doing it in the correct way, in the nice way! they don't mean it like that. in fact they're actually being progressive. you're the cruel one for acting like their racist behavior is racist. you're the problem if you're bothered by their comfort racism. you're the bitchy colored person who makes eeeverything about racism when it so clearly isn't. i'm fucking sick of this.

Tldr Amnesty International, global human rights organisation, published a report called 'A growing threat: the anti-rights movement in the UK'. In it is detailed, amongst others, a whole bunch of transphobic groups and organisations, including Beira's Place, JK Rowling's trans exclusionary sexual violence support service. JK Rowling threw a shit fit and got Amnesty to take the report down by threatening libel. This was obviously not enough, because you can't appease a fascist, so now she's going to bankroll a bunch of lawsuits anyway through the JK Rowling Women's Fund.*

I see a lot of people complaining about how much romance is used in fanfics and that they want more platonic fics...but then I never see the people who complain actually start writing what they wanna read.

I get it, not everyone has the time to write, but you cant put others down for doing one of the most basic and common fandom activities.

yeah. I know I’ve said this so many times already, but fanfic is something a writer does for themself and their own enjoyment. it’s a hobby. it’s not an act of activism or any form of representation or anything.

if you (general you) want more representation of something in fanfic space, you will have to create the thing you want. for yourself.

this applies to platonic friendships, more romantic relationships between two female characters, characters with disabilities, trans characters, and any other things you want to see more of in fanfic space. since it’s a hobby and not an act of activism, if you want more of something, you will have to start creating that thing you want instead of throwing shades at other writers who create for themselves and their own enjoyment.
