So just before we all go to cinema for last episode (WHICH I AM SUPER EXCITED FOR!!!) I wanted to mention few things that I noticed in the fandom when the cinema release was announced
And how fans joined the bullies.
Yes, you. You joined people that were insulting us before we go to cinema.
People started making sooo many posts on how we should shower before. It got to the point that people in some comments were competing who showers more during day... we shouldn't have to tell strangers online how much we shower. It's no one's business.
The constant talking we gonna be messy, stinky, loud and act like animals - that was bullying.
The problem is that fans of the show joined in insulting their own fandom.
They kept talking they are the different ones and they don't do those things, which claimed that there are fans that do all those things. And do we actually can say all fans do it? Were we in cinema before to know how our fandom will act? Claiming the other fans do so was joining the people that hated on us.
And I understand where such behaviour can come from. Many people prefer to bully than be bullied, so they just defended themselves by throwing blame on other fans that supposedly could do those things.
Then suddenly people instead of posting how excited they are, they started posting how to act in cinema... they tried to be seen as nice ones and not the haters, so they added basic rules like "don't record movie", "don't make a mess" which is true, we should never do this, let's not turn it into another Chicken Jockey trend.
But despite them trying to seem like they have good intentions it still felt like micro bullying. Why?
They assumed we don't know how to act in cinema. The show is 13+, kids at 10 learn how to act in cinema, there is no way there are teenagers that don't know how to act in public, and if there are it's minority of the fandom.
So if most of the fandom is old enough to know how to act in cinema, why post all those rules everywhere?
For me it just seems like people try to ruin our fun.
In between the general all known rules, that I bet each fan knows, they threw not going in cosplays, and when it got backlash they changed it to "not go in cosplay that will cover someone's view", and I agree but... I think if someone wouldn't see they would just ask the cosplayer to take ears or hat off? And most cinemas have sits placed in a way that shouldn't cover anyone's view even if someone tall is in front of you. So this came from just people not wanting us to cosplay, and fans adapted this and changed to seem nice.
Also being loud. I think it is under basic knowledge on how to watch movies in public - you can react, but don't be so loud that others won't hear the movie.
I remember when I was on Miraculous Movie, you know why I liked it so much? BECAUSE PEOPLE WERE LOUD. Yes, I did hear the movie. But I also got to watch other's reactions which made this so much more fun! We could laugh together, cry together, and once someone shouted "ANOTHER SONG!?" and whole cinema started laughing... it was best experince in the cinema, because it felt like spending time with fandom, and not with strangers, and it was beautiful.
So please sing during watching! Laugh and cry! We go there to watch it together! It's a fandom event for us weirdos to be happy about last episode of our favorite show! Don't be scared to show your reactions!
And the fact people assume we will be so loud no one will hear, again, it seems they see us as some animals that have no idea how to act in public, and assuming that for no reason is for me like micro bullying. And because of that people will be discouraged to react and sing at all... so we will just come, sit, and leave with no fun fandom interaction... Please people let yourself have fun while watching! It's the last time we can unite as fandom to watch something when it releases!
And also the fucking deodorant... every post like that tell us to shower, to use deodorant. Why? Why people assume we don't have basic hygiene? It's literally just joining our bullies that expect the worse from us!
Not only that, I can't imagine how bad a person that actually struggles with hygiene, or even if they shower and use it, but have problem with how they smell must feel... it's like telling them not to come, when it's not their fault. I would be scared other fans would kick me out of cinema or insult if I had such problem. And many teenagers do. So let's not judge people for how they smell.
We all should shower, but do you tell it to everyone before they go out? No. We assume people know it is important. So telling only our fandom to do so it's just simply rude.
Yes, we us fans know how to shower. We are human beings, and we do all the things other humans do. We are not some dirty animals that will come to ruin the whole cinema. We go there to watch together one last time our favorite show.
So stop the posts of how stinky we are, how loud we are, and how everything we do is bad. That is bullying even if you had good intentions of teaching basic cinema etiquette everyone at 13yo should know... also the cinemas before starting movie tell us not to make mess and record the film so... why you have a need to repeat it to us again? Because you assumed our fandom is bad, and I find it as hatred towards us.
SO TO EVERY TADC FAN: PLEASE HAVE FUN TOMORROW! GO IN COSPLAY! TAKE YOUR MERCH! SING WHILE WATCHING! REACT TO THE MOVIE! AND HAVE FUN WITH OTHER FANS! DON'T LISTEN TO THE POSTS THAT DISCOURAGE US HAVING FUN AND GIVE SOME STANDARD THAT WE MUST BE QUIET, PERFECT AND BORING!
