Decided to keep with the mini tradition of Daphne and Elijah in Daphne's weekend age up post. I have a mod where anyone can do the "best hug ever" and these two did it autonomously. That was the moment when I realized these two had a really sweet and close relationship because, mind you, this picture was probably taken a few days after Elijah's birthday. S if you ever wonder why I focused so much on just the two of them and their relationship.

We also had a bit of story from Cela. I know it's probably a depressing thought but those things did happen. Lynching was a horrible way racist would use against black people as their own form of "justice". But it wasn't unrealistic for the "justice" to happen black people they didn't approve of. I don't plan to make this a super realistic but it's a decades challenge, I feel like only focusing on the cookie cutter basic history would be disingenuous towards black history. So keep that in mind.

One summer day, Elijah and Daphne have the job of going to town to pick up groceries they can't get on the farm. The siblings laugh and tease each other both having a good time. But the sound of the door opening

Happy New Year! just wanted to pop in and say I'm still playing this save but it's surprising hard making posts for Simblr. Honest to god, props to those that are able to keep up with posting and story telling. I do plan on posting but I don't know when, because, even more surprising, I might be getting deployed! Yea....not super happy about that but I'll find out if I'm going by February. In the meantime I'm just playing to play. But back to the Warings, here's a little glimpse to the future. Ishmael talks with his grandkids, Sable is also there just behind the wall, Elijah holds his youngest, and our girl, Cela is happy to see her family altogether.

Cursed by the technology gods

That's what it feels like honestly. Remember when I said my game kept crashing and I had no idea what was causing. Yeah, I still don't because even when I took out all my updated mods and repaired the game it still crashed! So in the end I completely uninstalled and reinstalled the Sims. This entire process took about three days (thank god I'm on a four day weekend). But now I'm running into another problem where before I had set up a symbolic link (I play Sims on a secondary hard drive so I don't have to worry about all the space CC/Mods take up) and now I can't set up a new one for some reason. I'm losing mind and getting real tired of everything.

I still don't know how to fix the Symbolic link thing so to "fix" the problem I'm moving all my steam games to my secondary hard drive and will now keep everything Sims 4 on the main drive. Hopefully I'll have enough space for the mods and CC.

Last Update about my cursed game. So the switcharoo worked and the game without mods worked (no crashes or anything). I'm now moving all my mods back into to game but the game takes forever to load. It's been stuck on the beginning loading scene for almost 24 hours now. Here's to hoping it loads sometime today and I can actually play. I managed get a Juicy Queenbeet in Cookie Clicker. If you play the game you know how low that chance is. This is actually one of games where I'm trying to get 100% of achievements, I'm currently at 84% so go me!

I also beat Baldur's Gate 3. Again. I love this game so much. I beat the game as Dark Urge Druid using honor mode rules, just not on a honor mode save file, which was challenging but fun. Here's a late game picture of my party and Durge. I romanced Gale btw and some of his kiss animations are *chefs kiss*.

I'm going to scream

My game is still crashing but when I can actually play this happens. The game is in Live Mode but my family isn't showing up at the bottom of the screen and I can't click anything, it was just stuck like that, sims were still moving but I couldn't do anything. I'm assuming that it's probably a broken mod or something to do with the Grim Reaper award event (I've heard it's been very buggy). At this point, being so close to the Life & Death Update I've decide to just wait and then update my mods. Add to fact that by the time this post is seen I'll be on Vacation, which means I'll be away from my computer. So I wouldn't be able to do anything if I managed to fix it. But I should be back to posting during the first or second week of November (crossing my fingers). I've said it before but I have the worst luck with technology.

My Game Keeps Crashing?

Not sure if it's because of a mod or something else? At first I thought it was my decades save but (luckily or unluckily) it crashed in another save. It's so random when it happens too, I'm so confused!!! Is this happening to anyone else?

Another picture that I've post from a different POV but not these ones. It highlights the difference between the twins. Fun fact despite being twins and being super close as toddlers Cato and Casper don't spend a lot of time together. It's lowkey kinda sad. I didn't even realize until I was looking for a picture of them together and couldn't find one.... Well that's something I want to fix in their teen year. As a child, Cato was sick a lot and I usually had him either sleeping or writing. You'd think that made him easier to take care of but every time he got sick I panicked and was afraid he'd die. Thank god he didn't but that was not fun, because every time he got better he'd get sick again. Casper, on the other hand, was boring. I complain about it below. I'm struggling so much with his personality but overall, I've go nothing. Maybe something will change in his teens.

You know what, I'm going to say it, Cato gets on my nerve but somehow he's still more interesting than Casper. Sure Cato being sick more than half the time but at least I can work with that, Casper just fades into the background. He's sorta like Elijah, y'know helping out with the farm but yet bland as fuck. For Cato he struggles with his health and how it leads him being treated differently than everyone around him, he looks at Casper and see what he could've been. Casper, on the other hand, I can't seem to find him something to struggle with. He's not the oldest so he doesn't have to deal with the expectations that comes with, he's healthy so he has had a relatively normal childhood, he's not a girl so he doesn't have to worry about his future. And he doesn't have a bad relationship with anybody in the family (like Cato & Elijah) and I would even say he close with Ishmael (look below).

Ok old picture but I need to post it because it's hilarious. Back when the twins were infants. You have this sweet moment with Ishmael hold Casper and the two of them just looking at each with so much love, and then Cato at their feet sad.....wtf (≧∇≦)ﾉ ya'll also I would argue in game this is essentially their relationship. Ishmael is always talking to Casper and helping him but doesn't give much attention to Cato.

With Casper growing into a teen, the parents decide to leave tending the crops to the kids. The parents want their children to be self-sufficient and to one day be able to handle their own crops one day. The teens don't mind but Daphne does drag her feet, not being a fan of any work.

The parents do he leftover work. Ishmael deals with the animals while Sable does the housework. It's work their both used to but older age makes the work slower and slightly harder.

Cato, as usually, is stuck on the sidelines. Growing into a teen has made his health any better. If anything, to be honest, aging up has it worse. He feels weaker and gets more coughs than before. Due to that he spends a lot of his time sitting and watching his family work.

When the day is over with the child asleep, Sable and Ishmael talk about their life, children, and possible future plans. Sable tells Ishmael about Cato's struggles and suggest keeping an eye on him. They talk and laugh over their children's past antics. But then their conversation takes a darker turn.

Both know that they won't be able to get off the Waring plantation property but they have high hopes for their children. They know Elijah has a crush on Cela Mason, the only daughter of a well-off widow so if Elijah is able to marry her he would have a good future, while Daphne would marry into another household, they just have to make sure she marries a good man. SO their biggest worries are the twins. Casper hasn't shown much interest in other girls but with his ages, he's still young, but with Cato, would anyone be willing to marry someone so sickly. They decide to have Cato focus on his education and hope he'll be able to find a high paying career.

They finally decide to end the conversation, with Sable giving Ishmael a kiss goodnight. The two drift off to sleep, imagining a better future for their children.

Soon it's the twins birthday. A quiet celebration, the twins blow out their candles surrounded by family.

With the twins become Teens. With the extra money Elijah brings in, their mother and father decide to keep them in school. Through each twin has a different priority. Casper will always but work around the property first but Cato focuses on his writing, knowing that it's the only thing he can place his future on.

Also look at Cela, she's adorable. I'm a little mad at myself because I wished I showed more of her and Elijah's relationship as children. Elijah was Cela first friend and Cela was Elijah's first friend he made by himself so they always had this connection that didn't compare to their relationship with the others. Here's to hoping I can give their relationship as teens justice.

With Elijah out of the house and the chores done, Casper and Daphne choose to go out to the park with their friends. Daphne races against Phillis to see who can get the first, while Casper piggybacks on Isaiah talking with Lucinda.

The group of five first plays London bridge is falling. They run around playing and laughing. After the kids start a competition on the hanging bars to see who can last the longest. Phillis keeps watch to make sure no one cheats. Casper manages to win while Daphne is the first to drop.

The group splits up to talk to each other, with Daphne and Phillis staying at monkey bars. Casper sticks with Isaiah and Lucinda, choosing to seat on the grass underneath the swing chair.

Back at the property Cato is up, still feeling weak from his bout of sickness. He feels miserable knowing once again that his siblings are out and about while he's stuck at home.

Cato grabs his journal and proceeds to write not only about his feelings nut also stories of how he wished he could live his life. Writing does help a little but Cato still feels stuck in his depression.

Sable catches a glimpse of Cato's writing. Reading what his wrote worries her greatly. She decides to talk to Cato and asks him what's wrong. It's rough at first but soon Cato is spilling how he hates being so week and how he's always the one left behind. Sable tries to comfort her son but she isn't sure how she can help

Finally Sable decides to invites Cato to lie in bed with her, wanting to hold him. Cato agrees, happy for some sympathy. Cato manages to fall asleep in his mother's arms forgetting about for a moment his lonely feelings. Sable on the other hand can't help but wonder how to help her son out.

As Cela and Elijah walk to town they talk about whatever comes to mind. Both enjoying the other's company but it isn't long before the see their friends.

Elijah and the girls take a seat. And the group of friends start laughing and joking. Elijah reassures them that his family and himself are doing fine.

Apollo and Titus pull Elijah from his seat wanting to mess around. The boys strike poses for the girls who laugh at their antics. Everyone is happy to see Elijah again and the mood shows it well.

Soon the group starts talking their home life's and parents. Cela complains that because her house doesn't have any men she's usually stuck doing all the heavy lifting. Elijah tell her that if she ever need help to just get him and he'll help.

Cela thanks Elijah and promises to take him up on his offer, while the other three exchange glances and laugh. Elijah is truly terrible at being discreet.

Elijah awkwardly smiles and the group teases Elijah. It seems that even getting away from his family doesn't stop Elijah from being a target. But Elijah wouldn't trade his friends for the world.
