             it’s nice to hear the word cousin from him. exciting. it’s been sometime since she had cousins from earth. he sat up more in bed when she mentioned family. billy researched all he would on his former life’s family; there was a lot and the fact that he just woke up wasn’t helping him remember what he researched. “uh, it's…i just woke up some i’m not fully right in the head now. you knew me? i mean, not me but my former self.”

                        she listens. and then she just kind of —— stands. awkwardly. for an extended period of time.            holy shit.      pietro has a kid.           and lorna magnus has probably just had a short circuit because who the fuck would have spawn with pietro? who in their right mind would BONE pietro? how is she still single when pietro apparently fucks fish and women to the extent that he has o f f s p r i n g. and no, no matter how she puts it in her head it makes no more or less sense. it remains weird and like the kid definitely has no mark of the devil tattooed on her forehead so ——-       “fuck me. i mean. i promise he does. he and namor have an affair and he one-hundred percent tries to murder me, murder his father, and puts wanda in a coma, but okay. small child. looks like you’ve got yourself a dysfunctional aunt.”       lorna had always been good at adapting to change. bad at knowing what to say.

              she seems to process it ------ slowly, but surely. this is not HER aunt lorna, she knows that. nobody seemed to be her’s here, though, so she’s put aside any shock & forces down any disappointment.      ❛  i know he --- he doesn’t like grandfather.  ❜      the last she saw them together ------ she tried to forget it. her grandfather’s sadness, her father’s RAGE at him. it was one of the firsts in the series of horrible things she would see her father fall to. but only a first --- she had seen him at his most low. crystals sticking, JAGGED, out of his chest with a sickly grin. it was a sight that haunted her.      ❛  but the rest of that --- it never happened. not for me. he LOVES you . . . and i know. i’ve always had that . . . but i love my aunt lorna. she’s wonderful.  ❜

“god…what’s with all the noise?” billy was still in that tired mode, eyes barely opened as he jumped awake from his nap. he turned to the bright light from his window when he saw a figure standing near the now opened window, “what the-what’s going on? are you like an intruder or something?”

           there’s a sleepy sound of the boy waking up that has luna turning, light from the window shining around her as she looks back at him. she cracks a smile at him, soft with a hint of apology in her eyes.    ❛  more like family, actually. i --- didn’t mean to wake you up. i didn’t know you’d be sleeping . . . i just wanted to find you. i never got to meet you when you were . . . younger.  ❜     before his soul was stolen was more like it. she was young at the time, too, to be fair. she probably would hardly even remember if they met --- but the fact they didn’t saddened her all the same.

                she never thought she’d die so soon. she was so well protected by so many. she had her mother. her father. her grandfather. her cousins. the fantastic four. luna had faced the threat of death before, but she was always saved. she was surrounded by heroes, she thought she would always be saved. delusions of a child, one could suppose, as she now stands with the ringing sound of a shot still echoing in her head & clutching her side where blood is soaking up her clothes. she can hear a voice among the ring --- sue. luna doesn’t blame her. she got herself into this, she could have calmed the person using her powers but she didn’t. she acted to rashly & simply ran in a panic. now she was paying the price.

                tears begin to well around her eyes. this hurts. dying hurts. she inhales, but it shakes & is in the form of gasps, as well as the exhale. she leans, her legs not wanting to stand anymore, & finds herself leaning onto sue. she never thought she’d die so soon --- but if she had to imagine it she thought her dad would be there. or her mom. but it turns out neither of them were there . . . it was just the invisible woman. & she was okay with that. she wouldn’t have to see her heroic father’s anger at who hurt her or her strong mother’s tears. she’d get to see sue who was kind & would always help. sue may not be one of her parents, but her’s were arms that she always felt safe in. 

                ❛  it --- it’s s-so cold.  ❜    weakly, luna’s eyes move to see the woman’s face. colors of grief & sadness swirl around her & luna wants to help. she’s never liked seeing people sad --- she had been scolded for fiddling with people’s emotions without permission before but she couldn’t help it when people were sad. she was helping them, was that so wrong? her hand, trembling, reaches up to the woman’s face & her fingers brush at her chin. she radiated calm at her, radiated acceptance & love & even happiness into her aura.    ❛  i’m scared b-but it --- it’s okay. it’s okay . . . you --- y-you’ll tell my dad i-i love him. t-tell my mom, too. make s-sure they know . . . this w-wasn’t your fault. y-you’re the best, s-sue . . . i love you, too.  ❜    despite the pain, despite everything fading, she manages a smile.    ❛  i love you t-too.  ❜     how fitting that someone who saw her first breath, would be there at her last.

something that makes me so sad is the fact that the first time luna saw her grandfather with her new powers pietro was yelling about how horrible he was & luna goes over to him & says  “but he’s not a bad person. i can see. he’s just very sad.”  like that breaks my fucking heart fucking god. sadneto.

“Yes, I…  I’m fine.”  Pietro replied with a soft smile and a nod.  “I just…  As you can probably see, I must be much younger than you are used to.  Some of these things, this family…  It is all quite new to me still.  But I do hope to get to know you.”  He couldn’t help the tears that began to well up in his eyes, and although he usually did what he could to avoid his emotions showing on the outside, this was a different occasion.  Now, he was alright with letting it show.

           ❛  yeah, you look a lot younger --- but once grandfather did too, in a way, so i thought maybe . . . but you -- you don’t know me, do you?  ❜      a part of her is a little sad at the truth of it. her own father knew nearly nothing about her . . . she wasn’t even born yet for him. but there are also tears about to make break around his eyes. they’re not sad tears, she can tell, they’re --- happy. overwhelmed happy tears. he hardly even knows her but he loves her. maybe he’s a lot younger, but he’s still certainly her dad. she does a reply smile at him as best she can.      ❛  that’s alright. hey, don’t cry, silly. you can get to know me all you want, promise. you’re my dad . . . i love you. and i love getting to see you. so --- we can do stuff together and i can tell you all about me.  ❜

Great, another one of those people that can read people’s thoughts or something it was bad enough he had to deal with Wanda and her magic ability and now this person as well?
