Hello, call me Lycan or Lycanroc! I use it/its and mix/mex pronouns. This is a sideblog I've made for myself to post simplified, alternate, or contrast-adjusted variants of flags I like and want to use, but are too hard on my eyes for varieties of reasons.

My purpose for creating this sideblog can be read in this post. Feel free to request a flag you want a variant of! Can't promise the request will be fulfilled quickly, though. Please include a link for the flag you want a variant of.

GNAWSTIMMIC — alternate. Kind of different from my usual ones. These are just to put the all-inclusive neurodivergent infinity flower symbol onto the flag, as many consider the infinity sign exclusive to Autistic people, making this a good compromise. Original flag here.

[ ID 1: A flag with 7 horizontal stripes. The top two and bottom two stripes both jut out, resembling sharp teeth. From top to bottom, the colors are: pale orange, sunrise orange, smoky topaz, black, desaturated cactus green, bay leaf green, pale olive green.

In the center, there is a symbol with two infinity signs stacked on top of each other; one going horizontal and one going vertical. Both are a near-mint green with a black outline. The horizontal one is on bottom and vertical on top. /ID]

MONACHORIC PUPPY — contrast-adjusted. Term coined by gengernoway, just with slightly color-adjusted stripes.

The flag also has an puppy icon in the middle, its coat being dark sienna, the right side of its face has a seal brown shadow; this puppy also has dark red eyes, and a dark red outline and facial marking. /End ID. ]

AHUMAN — alternate. This terms coinage can be found on this archived post, and the symbol from this archived post. The colors of the flag are from both original ahuman flags combined.

[ ID: A flag with seven horizontal stripes all of even sizes, excluding the 4th stripe which is larger than the rest; From top-to-bottom, the colors are: gulf blue, deep lavender, pale cerulean, midnight blue, pale cerulean, deep lavender, and gulf blue.

In the middle, there's a symbol depicting a small circle with a dot in the middle, the circle has a small line coming out of both the top and bottom of it, all of a pale cerulean color; surrounding the circle is a deep lavender diamond with a ring behind it, and another ring encircling it, both of the same color as the diamond. The inside of the very inner circle and both rings are midnight blue, as well as the symbol's outer stroke. The inside of the diamond is gulf blue. /End ID. ]

Reasons I may post a variant flag for a term include:

Overly intricate stripes, whether that mean: including a large amount of stripes (often 10–15 of many varying lengths); and/or wavy, lacy, or otherwise textured/patterned stripes.

Stripes either have too little contrast between one-another, or too much contrast between one-another.

Or, regardless of which side of the former point these fall on, the stripes are simply too highly and/or evenly saturated.

Many flags for identities that I see, especially as of late, have had the above aspects; which are hard on my eyes and may be a cause for headaches/migraines. Thus, I simply wanted to create a place wherein I can share my variants of these flags, in case others have similar issues with them as I.

While I will limit the number of [horizontal] stripes on my variants to 9, there may be exceptions. Though these will be few-and-far between; I'm just not a fan of more than 9 stripes unless absolutely necessary.

I'm very aware some of these aspects to flags are just the creators personal preference, and that's okay! I do not fault them for that. However, I would like to use their terms without a potential risk of pain; and I don't expect them to cater to my specific experiences or tastes, so I sought to make variants myself. I will always link back to the creators original post, or an archive of it.

If you're a creator of the terms I make variant flags for, I hope you understand. Especially if I seem to do a lot of your terms. It's in no way any shade to you or your flag-making skills, I'm just slightly picky and experience near bi-weekly headaches and/or migraines as is. Just prefacing this out of slight paranoia that I'll anger others.

MONACHORIC — contrast-adjusted. This term was originally coined by rabidbatboy. I simply made the colors higher contrast, as the original was hard on my eyes due to the low contrast; I've included two different contrast levels, one being much higher, and the other more-so in-between.

DESPAVIR — simplified. Term originally coined by lovesse. The first flag of mine is only simplified, whereas the second one is slightly desaturated.

There's a symbol of an eye with an indigo outline, pale pink sclera, a violet-magenta iris, and lavender rose broken-heart shaped pupil. /End ID. ]
