The most realistic (and funniest) thing the Metros management could do to respond to Hollanov reveal and #tripgate is actually to do everything in their power to keep Shane.

Teammates making accusations and not being nice? Not to their star, those guys are getting traded so fast the accusations become about Soviet style disappearances. Don't worry King we'll rebuild the entire team around you. Have some more money while we deal with this, treat yourself. Fans not being nice? They hire extra social media consultants to deal with it, they are standing with their cancelled princess.

Shane did not ask for any of this and is kind of horrified that the team is now him, Hayden, JJ, and one rookie who kept his mouth shut. He was actually starting to look forward to joining Ilya in Ottawa but he can't because he's become the monarch of a suddenly much emptier court filled with scheming eunachs and he never wanted this. Let him leave please what's he even meant to do with that much money??

Funniest part would be if management did think he tripped deliberately, but their three time cup winning Olympian can have a gay little trip every once in a while, as a treat. pop health science is so annoying bc it'll be like "did you know? eating strawberries will give you mega cancer" and you're like pfft whatever begone influencer. but sometimes then you'll see a reasonably credible article like "Study Shows Possible Link Between Strawberries and Mega Cancer" and you're not usually the type to follow that kind of thing religiously but idk maybe you should consider not eating strawberries? but then there's another article saying "Strawberry/Mega Cancer Study Debunked" and it turns out the original study had a sample size of 3 and was funded by Big Blueberry, and strawberries may have a small connection to mega cancer but only if you are genetically predisposed to mega cancer and eat 50 strawberries every day. so you return to your strawberry eating life. but whenever you eat strawberries in public someone tells you about the mega cancer.

I want to highly recommend two tools for helping you with this very sad situation, which you must use before it happens.

The first is this wonderful script that will automatically add key information (that you choose) like author, title, summary, etc to your bookmark notes so you at least know what got deleted.

The second is this incredible bulk downloader for AO3. Input any AO3 page (such as your bookmarks page) and tell it what format you want to download in and it will just.... DOWNLOAD IT ALL!! I run it every few months so that I have all my bookmarks downloaded in my preferred EPUB format. That way I know I always have my favorites downloaded in case they ever get deleted.

With the combination of these two, I can look in my bookmarks, see what was deleted, and easily find it in my downloads. It's such a relief to have my own fic library is all my favs!
