FACT: trans women experience greater rates of violence, homelessness and unemployment than trans men. mentioning that transmascs do in fact experience a privilege in comparison to their transfeminine sisters isn't "transandrophobic" nor is it "dividing the community" or "infighting", and the only reasons to suggest that are because you want to dismiss transfeminine attempts to describe & analyse their own oppression.
it would be nice if "we were all oppressed equally" or if the state truly did see us all as faggots, but Trump's executive order specifically highlights trans women, and many of the anti-trans bills specifically focus on "boys in girls' sports" and make no attempt to stop trans boys from competing alongside cis boys. so when you say shit like "we're all oppressed equally" or "they don't care what flavour of trans you are" just know that you are denying institutinal transmisogyny and are fundamentally no different to any other conservative antifeminist.
I think a lot of people fail to realize that it is possible to both acknowledge that certain people are more opressed than others, while simultaneously maintaining a strong community that isn't divided by the mention of that fact. So many people hear "group x is more oppressed than your group" and immediately jump to prove that "Uhm, AKTSUALLY, I am just as, if not more opressed than you!" I think the problem is that people are told "group x is more opressed than you" (in this case, trans women), but they hear "your problems don't matter because other people have it worse than you". I remember that before I knew that I was trans, I was just bisexual, and I felt like I was going crazy, because it seemed like no one really cared about the unique issues that bisexuals face, because the "attention" was elsewhere. But trans women shouldn't need to sacrifice themselves to "prevent infighting." We should not need to shoulder the burden of people who are too reactionary to let people discuss the unique oppression they face. People need to be mature enough to hear "trans women have it worse" and not immediately start infighting. The responsibility should be theirs.
i honestly hate how much people use "this is the only body you get" as a reason to not do anything that might be permanent. its the only body you get so you need to make sure you like it! get that tattoo! get those piercings! forsake your humanity! let an old and vengeful god replace your beating heart with an ice cold stone which yearns for the warmth of blood! start hrt!
Quietly losing my mind over the fact that Elon Musk has straight up orchestrated a coup of our executive branch and like....I don't even know what, if any, system we have in place to fix this. Like... He's just taken control of the money and locked out the actual appointed officials. What the fuck.
Nazis are taking over my government, and like, not even just the Nazis we fucking elected! And I'm...making hamburgers? Because somebody has to make dinner? I just feel completely unhinged.
I think that's how random civillians generally feel in these situations. Someone's gotta make dinner.
If you're wondering, there is plenty to be done about it, and plenty being done about it already, even if it's not happening instantly in a way you can perceive.
Yes. Let me break it down for you.
Reblogging because this is an excellent article that both tells you about some of what's being done and breaks it down in a way that will help you understand and think about future action. Please read!
there's probably a better way of wording the last part but like come on it doesn't matter if we're all the same to fascists
I will argue with you across the table at dinner. None of that matters when there's a knife at your throat.

A reminder to the "the American government wouldn't..." crowd. They have. They have made their own internment camps before. They have rounded up innocent citizens and immigrants before. The victims of which are still alive to this day and trying to share their stories with the world, they have been trying to warn us for a long time. George Takei (as seen above) is a famous example of this. He has written about his experiences time and time again, even publishing a book talking about his time in these camps. He may be famous now, but at the time he was just another kid forced from his home. To this day he still firmly dedicates himself to trying to educate and inform people, trying to spread awareness with his platform. The American Government can and will do terrible things. Do not let anyone convince you otherwise.
