A quick comic practice sketch with Birds Fly in Different Directions (by @litfeathers), chapter 42. I might have shortened some of the dialogue a bit... but I wanted this exchange to fit into 4 panels!

Gonna try to catch up on this rad fic while I'm frozen in this weekend. Maybe do some more fanart?

Tokiha Mai from Mai-HiME

Watched Mai-HiME recently and really enjoyed it! Gave me similar vibes to Symphogear, which is good. Though, considering all the technical issues, Crunchyroll absolutely did not want me to finish it.

Abstaining From Existence

What if you were to follow the advice of every art tutorial video you come across? What if you only followed the eye-catching and inflammatory commands and suggestions shown in the thumbnails?

There are no shapes because shapes are bad.

There was no sketch because sketching makes you reliant on sketches.

I did not practice before making this piece because practice actually hurts your skills, don't you know?

I did not use any digital brushes because only traditional art is real.

I did not use a traditional medium because everyone knows that would fade with time and disappear.

There is no background color because colors could influence the creative process, and we don't want that, now do we?

When all of this advice is followed, what am I left with? A transparent image—a perfect square of empty pixels.

Got some alcohol markers for Xmas, so I tried coloring in an old inked sketch. It's an interesting flow, but I quite like it.

Apparently I never exported this Casual Mavuika sticker design? I mean, I know why: I never shaded it.

I dunno. Might go back and finish it up, might just leave it as is.

I happened to sketch a bunch of Veemon for a Digimon/Owl House crossover idea, so I tried making a straightforward sticker/emoji design.

I love flipping between the flat and rendered versions of a piece. You can really feel it come to life.

My half of an OC art trade with @lunar-jewels, featuring her OC Mara! She's a octopus-like shapeshifter hanging out on the California coast after a run-in with a fishing net.

This was a lot of fun and hopefully I can do more art trades in the future.

I was kinda skeptical of this ink stuff, but it's pretty rad. Ended up doing some Maeve expressions, really like how she's coming along.
