Please reblog this.
you should never date someone for the sake of dating someone. you should be good friends, if not best friends with your partner. if you cant go to your partner for personal advice, if youre afraid to call your partner out on something, if you cant laugh and have fun with your partner, or if your conversations are only ever performative affection, you don’t have a good relationship
Hey. How are ya'll holding up? Sending some xoxo your way. I hope today is better than yesterday for you.
this is just a reminder to quit the jokes about wanting to die and anything else along those lines. it is actually seriously harming you, you just can’t feel it because you’ve numbed yourself to it. it isn’t a healthy coping mechanism and it is only hurting you, whether you realize this or not. words have impact. do not forget this.
say what you actually want instead. did you just say “ugh i wanna die” because you’re really tired and would rather be at home napping? then say “ugh i wanna take a nap.” say what you really want or need, because i’m gonna be honest with you chief, you probably don’t really want to die. maybe you want the situation you’re in to end, but death ain’t the answer to that. it’s never the answer. there’s always another option, i promise.
Yeah, I used to say “I want to die” all the time, but since then I’ve changed it to, “I’m really dysphoric” “I’m sad right now and I don’t know why” “I really wish I could hide in my room for a few days without seeing anyone but I have to get of bed anyway” “I don’t want to eat dinner tonight because I feel really upset” and so on.
Even if your situation and feelings can’t be helped or changed, express them; hiding behind the same sentence every time you’re upset will only make it harder to face what’s actually going on emotionally/mentally for you.
here’s to everyone hitting a low point after doing really well. you’re amazing and so strong and your hard work is not erased. you will find happiness again
