@lynchwyd-blog
@jlynch: What a wicked thing.
Nimble digits pinched a plastic green straw, stirring a frozen strawberry daiquiri around, the motion giving antsy fingers something to do while a leg restlessly bounced up and down. ââSo,â She began, turning to look at the person next to her, âknow any good ways toâŠâ She paused, letting her words linger in the air for a few moments as she tried to conjure up an articulate way to phrase what she wanted, â- whatâs a good way to break things off with a guy you never even knew you were dating?â Her nose crinkled as the words flew out of her mouth, âItâs complicated.â She added in vaguely before sliding a damp napkin in the middle of them, âDear Jason,â She read aloud, âI think weâre better off as friends. Xoxo Aspen.â Her gaze bounced from the words she had scrawled on the napkin moving to meet her companionâs, âthatâs the best I could come up with. A handwritten letter. Thoughts?â She asked, a grin laced with guilt flitting onto her features before leaning forwards to take a sip of her drink.
Fingers tap the counter quickly, a cue for the bartender to get another round as James slides into his seat beside Aspen after stepping out for a smoke. His head turns slowly, glancing at the dark brunette with an unamused expression. âI was gone five fuckinâ minutes, and youâre telling me in that time you managed to get yourself involved with a lad without actually knowing you did?â Eyebrows perked up in slight disbelief. His eyes flicked down to the small napkin, reading the short âletterâ Aspen had addressed to her suitor. âGet rid of the xoxo, thatâs way too honeyed. Actually, the friends bit is also unnecessary. You want him off your back donât you?â James reached for his new glass of whiskey, and turned towards her. âI could have a chat with,â his gaze dropped down to the napkin briefly, âJason. If youâd like.â He sipped on his drink, mischievous swimming in his eyes.
you could hear rowdy shouting and booming laughter over the music that pulsed throughout one of new yorkâs best bars. if sheâd known her friends were going to react in such a noisy. rambunctious mannerâ then again, they were her friends for a reason. âguys, itâs not that big of a deal,â she laughed, as they dragged her towards the bar. âdrinks on herâ three of them yelled in unison as she was shoved towards the front of the group. âi guess a round of shots on me forâ all of them,â kodi breathed, a smile permanently painted on her lips. she glanced at the person next to her, noting that her friends had knocked over a bottle in their excitement, âand whatever they want for likeâ the rest of the night.â she turned towards them, with an apologetic shrug and a nervous laugh, âsorry âbout that. yâknow, this is why we donât really go out as a group. disaster generally follows.â
james needed just once glance at the rowdy crowd to spot kodi in the front, leading a pack of boisterous individuals. âno need to apologize to me,â he turned to face her as the group joined him at the bar, ânow i see where you get your crazy from.â james joked, referring to her friends before swooping up his drink and taking a sip. âtell me then, what are we celebrating?â he asked, gesturing the bartender for a refill. âyouâll let me crash your little party now, wonât you?â eyebrows lifted in question before he took another glance at the people behind her. âbesides, i think youâre about to lose one to pre-mature vomit.â he squinted slightly in disgust before turning his attention back to his drink.Â
âIf I have to spend another night in an uncomfortable hospital chair one more time Iâm going to need a masseuse for a week.. Donât get me wrong I itâs worth it but my back is killing me. Please tell me youâve had something interesting go on in your life that you can tell me about to get my mind off of things.â
âWhy wait? Just get a masseuse now, itâll solve your back problem. I think you and I will have very different definitions of what âinterestingâ is. Besides, Iâm not keen on telling stories to strangers. You can chat with your masseuse- all the more reason to get one.â
Liana laughed as she looked at the other. âOh my god, did you see that?â The blonde questioned, not being able to contain her laughter as she saw someone being rejected as he asked a girl to marry her. âWith a ring that looks like it had cost a dollar, I wouldnât want to marry him either.â
James perked up a brow as his attention was turned over to the not-so-happy couple standing a few metres away from him. âAt least one of them is smart enough to stop it before it happens,â he let out a small scoff, âI donât know why people go through with marriage in the first place.âÂ
( OLD LYNCH FARMLANDÂ )Â Monmouthshire, Wales
headcannon II: James grew up in a very small part of Wales, on a piece of farmland owned by his family. The house came with 32 acres, separate barns for both animals and tools, as well as stables for four horses. The Lynch family stayed here until James was nine, when they finally made the move to England. Though James has become accustomed to the city life, he will never forget his youth and the bliss of his early childhood years.Â
âïž James
ASPEN: just text me when you're coming down and I'll be ready to catch u
ASPEN: or I'll be waiting on the trampoline and when you come down I'll fly up. Cirque du soleil starring Aspen And James
ASPEN: i was going to fly with my fuel tank on E actually!
ASPEN: hummingbirds are beautiful, did you just call me beautiful? ;D
ASPEN: why a horse?
ASPEN: i have to. It's not everyday you become your own captain. Do you wanna be my flight attendant? I'll let you borrow my sister's silk Hermes scarf to tie around your neck.
JAMES: Your heart still set on us joining the circus, hm?
JAMES: Maybe we'll act as a tag team, I'll come down and you'll come up to entertain the guests.
JAMES: Not going to get much airtime with an empty tank, love.
JAMES: Don't put words in my mouth, Marchesa. Hummingbirds make an annoying humming sound, I thought you both had that in common.
JAMES: I dunno, I've always liked horses
JAMES: A flight attendant.. that's it. I'm cancelling this whole operation.
[text] i know i'm sorry [text] of course i'm in new york. why?
[text] Donât be // [text] No reason, just out of curiosity I suppose. // [text] Maybe Iâll see you around
âWould you join me on a year long stint with the circus, James? I think you could tame a few lions and make them jump through hoops of fire. Maybe even become the alpha.â Her nose scrunched, baring her teeth in a child-like manner, letting out a small roar before a sea of laughter escaped her. âWeâd probably have to run away from the circus, I think PETA would threaten to annihilate us. â The danger though. The danger of it allâ A grin pulled onto her lips at the over-dramatic tone she suddenly took before she was nodding her head. âIâm going to die eventually, I may as well die with a happy stomach. Iâve got a million dollar smile, James, why not up the ante and get a gold tooth?â She mused, always finding the silver lining in Jamesâ reasoning. It was a perfect balance between the two, a pessimist and an optimist with the right amount of crazy brewing in their veins to form a bond so wild and carefree, boundaries were out the window. âGo big or go home.â She repeated, tasting the words and genuinely thinking about following through with the act. âPromise to record me and play it at the next Lynch-Marchesa cocktail party?Iâm sure theyâd love to see a shooting star.âÂ
The laugh that echoed from her lips came to a standstill as she dropped any hold she had on the boy as if she had just been electrocuted by his bare skin. She held up her glittered palms, lips tucking into her mouth attempting to keep a serious facade; which was easily given up by her orbs that continued that laughter even when no sound came out of rosebud lips. âHow about we go and say Hola to the churros right now?â Her eyebrows wiggled, hand darting out to place on his forearm so not to lose him in the crowd, pulling him closer to her. âYou know, I still managed to get a little bit of sparkle onto you. You may not be covered in stars but youâre looking like the sky when youâre looking up from Lower Manhattan. â Just enough stars to make out a single constellation.â Her finger lightly trailed from one end of his left collarbone to his neck and back to the other end of his collarbone, âSummer Triangle.â She murmured into his ear, as she weaved through the crowd
âNot sure if I have any outstanding talents that would be recognized by the circus.â James scrunched his face slightly in thought. âLions, maybe,â he glanced at her as she let out her own rendition of a roar, âyou, never.â He shook his head in feigned defeat, although it wasnât a complete lie when he said he could never tame her. âCircus runaways -- thatâd be something to add to the books.â A devious smirk hinted at his lips. âWe can hitch a ride on a freight train and hide from the tranquilizer-bearing agents sent after us. Play the harmonica when morale is at a an all time low and fish for our dinner.â James mused, perhaps only going along with Aspenâs dramatic because of his mild intoxication. âIâm sure Papa Marchesa would just love to see you sporting a gold tooth. Should we throw in candy floss to the mix? You know, just to get things moving.â He raised his eyebrows in suggestion. Aspen had no limits, and if there was anything James enjoyed, it was encouraging her wild ideas to see how far she would really go. âSure, Iâll be filming the whole act from down here.â He rolled his eyes, amused at their slightly insane exchange. âI think theyâve already seen enough crashing and burning from us.â James gave a short chuckle. In the eyes of their families, Aspen and James were the black sheep. They were the family disappointment, and yet they both took great pride in the title.
His molten eyes settled on Aspen, as if they did the threatening well enough on their own without James having to open his mouth. A gaze meant for war silencing the brunetteâs audible laugh, rendering defeat on her end as she brought up her hands. No matter how harsh his glare was, Aspen never lost the spark in her eye. He supposed thatâs why they worked as a pair, no matter how odd their friendship seemed, the two knew how to handle each other. âIâm only coming along to see that gold tooth.â He protested but let her guide him through the crowd. âA night sky in the city,â he hummed, his eyes flickering to her as she pointed out the lone sparkles on his skin. âHow fitting.â James sometimes felt like the open nightfall: infinitely dark and hollow. He let her dainty fingers trace out the constellation she saw and wondered how anyone saw anything in him. âVega, Deneb and Altair.â He recited the familiar star names. âYouâve got a couple dotting your own skin,â James moved his eyes towards her skin, âAquila, Cygnus, even Leo.âÂ
âwe donât really. not anymore, at least,â isabelle laughed, feeling light on her feet and fluttery in her stomach. her emotions were never stable when alcohol was thrown into the mix, and talking about her family, for the moment, was making her surprisinglyâ happy. âmore of a football family but dad was pretty good at cricket too. pretty athletic for a writer. since iâve moved to the states, thoughâ iâve gotten an even better,â she scrunched her nose, realizing she was shouting something that no oneâ especially james lynchâ bothered to hear about from a few feet away and over loud music. âthatâs besides the point, though. because i never miss,â it was the last thing she said before firing a glitter bomb in the boyâs direction. her eyes lit up as it made contact, exploding and showering sparkling debris all over him and a few unlucky, unhappy bystanders. she threw her head back and laughed the kind of laughter that wasnât half-assed. it started in her stomach and was visible in her chest, accompanied by an ecstatic smile and her hands clapping together. âi never miss,â she said, slightly out of breath and lifting her hands up innocently, âi told you i never miss.â a wicked grin spread across her lips as she shouted, âisabelle morgan: 1. prince of wales: 0!â her smile was gone as quickly as it appeared once james met her gaze. âoh come on youâre not actually going to staââ he took off towards her and she immediately turned on her heel, shouting âget out of the wayâ in between fits of laughter as she tried to put as much distance between them as possible.Â
âi donât know how you suffered through it. in my fair opinion, baseballâs the most boring sport out there.â james lifted an eyebrow, wondering how the morgans could ever settle for boring. ânow football- football is the right idea. at least your family was into sports. the only event my father took me to was the horse races.â he let out, realizing he was sharing things about his family, but not necessarily caring at the same time. isabelle was drunk, itâs not like sheâd make anything of it. trying to dust the glitter off his shoulder, he looked up with a cruel smirk. ânever miss huh? remind me to invite you the next time katie and i go for darts. then weâll see if you really ânever missâ.â his gaze was challenging, held solely on the brunette that was laughing. if there was anything james liked, it was a challenge. friendly competition, as his brother always put it before leaving james in the dust. though his brother was likely the person he despised the most, the competition they had when they were younger trained james well. âcâmon then, isabelle morgan,â was the last he spoke before darting after her. his feet pounded with every step he took after her, not caring enough to excuse himself as he ran past crowds. out of the corner of his eye he spotted something that was sparkling with possibilities -- a pool. picking up his speed, he ran a couple feet to the right in an attempt to cut her off. with the help of a stranger that was in the way, he nearly bumped into her as he took a hold of her with both hands. ânobody throws a glitter bomb at me and gets away with it,â with little effort he hoisted her up and within a few seconds was letting her drop into the pool. âi never miss.â he repeated her previous words with a smug smirk present on his lips.Â
â how convenient.â she rolled her eyes, letting out a huff. this was definitely an inconvenient situation for natalia and it was definitely going to take her a lot of effort to get rid of all the glitters. â then why are you here, spending your time with halfwits who donât know how to hold their alcohol?â she asked, eyebrows raised as she looked at him with an interrogative look written all over her face. following his movements, she furrowed her eyebrows. â huh, really? show me, i can fix it. howâs it not working?â she asked immediately, wanting to prove him how good she was at her work. her hand grabbing his wrist to take a look at it, she glanced up at him. â howâs it not working? do you know how to use this thing?â she repeated her question. in all honesty, by just one glance she was sure it was working fine. turning around once she realized he was still talking to her, she crossed her arms in front of her chest. â how are you so sure of that? because if youâre trying to impress me to get me to work for you â itâs not working. yes, the pun was intended.â
âiâm meeting up with some old friends. if it werenât for them, i wouldnât be here.â he shrugged lightly at the thought. it was clear james didnât belong in this setting-- everyoneâs bodies moved in a collective wave and james was the solid rock by the shore. his lips curved up slightly at her instant reaction, raising his arm to show the perfectly-good wristband. âi didnât think i had to use this thing. are you sure itâs suppose to look like this?â he inquired with a raise of his brows. holding back a laugh, he quickly fell into stride with the dark-haired female and mimicked her body language by crossing his arms as well. âdo you see anyone else thatâs capable of holding a conversation around here?â he gestured with his hand as he looked around the intoxicated state of the other festival goers. âmm, so you have given it the thought.â his head raised slightly as he glanced at her, âcâmon. my tentâs close by, you can get cleaned up there.â james offered, gently placing a hand on her back to guide her in the right direction.Â
[text] just wanted to talk to you i suppose // [text] i'll let you go though. hope your night gets better
[text] Iâve wanted to talk to you too. In person, though // [text] Wait - just one question, are you in New York?
Liana walked out of the club, clearly intoxicated, as she had trouble even making her way to the door. Once there, it was raining like all hell broke loose and it was already three in the morning, loosing her Iphone early on in the evening didnât exactly help the situation right now. She started walking as she laughed to herself, here and there some cars passing her but she wasnât exactly paying attention to them.
Neither was she paying attention when she tripped and fell on the sidewalk, still laughing at herself. Liana was completely soaked at this point, unable to properly communicate and her choice of a white top hadnât been the best as it went completely see-trough. She was too intoxicated to even care about anything as she just sat there on the floor with scraped knees and dirty hands.
James was in the middle of bar hopping when it had started raining. He didnât mind the rain, but the downpour was getting worse and walking in heavy rain was never ideal. Heâs had a few drinks, and had no intentions of going home because of the weather. Shoulders raised in an attempt to keep dry, James spotted a figure a few feet ahead of him. The rain made his vision blurry, his eyelashes clinging together, and James had to blink a few times before he was able to make out a blonde on the pavement. His first thought went to the homeless and figured she was only going to ask for change as he passed. Then as he got closer he noticed her heels and the neon lights of the club sign just behind her. âBloody hell,â he said to himself, thinking this was just another girl who couldnât handle her alcohol well. The thing that prompted him into stopping beside her was her laughter. âWhatâs so funny?âÂ
ââ Doorâs open.â
âYou donât look like a Miss Harrington,â James noted as he peaked through the open door. âAnd this doesnât look like a flat thatâs for sale.â He nodded to himself, realizing he mustâve made a wrong turn while apartment hunting. âSorry to bother you mate, I should leave you to it.âÂ
you! wait you! yes you-. sorry, donât run away from me. but you look like the most approachable person around and if you could please direct me to the best bagel store around here thatâd be great. iâve been back home in london for bloody ages now and iâm completely lost. this weather is atrocious! or at least for me.Â
-- you think i look approachable? right. iâm not a fan of bagels, so i have no idea whatâs good out there. i could, however, point you in the best pretzel shop in the business. but then i wouldnât want you mistaking me for someone approachable.Â
