The most important part of being a witch, I’ve found, is meditation. Be aware. Be aware of your body. Be aware of your surroundings. Be aware of the smells in the air, the moister, the dry heat. Be aware of, but do not indulge. Note the emotion in the room. Observe it. Everything is connected and notice how it is broken down in front of you. The universe is billions of years old with the same amount of matter in it since time began. Everything is connected. Everything is the same higher energy broken down differently.

The more this is mastered, the easier spells come. The easier it is to know which direction is the quickest to work today. The easier it is to see people’s energy right in front of you. Reconnecting yourself allows the rest to fall into place.

I’ve been told my whole life to be aware of my surroundings, but always with a sense of fear. I was told to only look for threats and predators and for the first time in my life I am opening up to everything else.

Ok so can I just say that Mark would really like Anya!!  <3  I def think he’d know her, since he “dated” Bea and he’s friends w a couple Storms, including her brother, Blaise.  That being said, I’m not sure how well they would or wouldn’t know each other?  Do you have any ideas about that?

How’s the whole thing with Bea go? Whatever the case, I think Anya would really like Mark as a person too. PLUS if Mark is still good friends with Blaise, I don’t see why he and Anya wouldn’t be on a friendish level? Like I don’t see them calling each other up, but if they end up being in the same place, they can EASILY hang out and have a good time together? 

Mark’s an artist... Maybe Anya gets him to draw up some fashion sketches for her from time to time?

Anya’s eyes rest on his bright blue ones briefly before letting out a sigh. 

She can still remember when she was younger - gosh, she’d wanted him to stare at her with those piercing blue eyes. Maybe even tell her she looked good as he looked her over. Ez had always tended to gain this odd sense of interest in females whose attention he sought and Anya had been curious about it. She had been around Oz and him enough to see Ezra play his moves on the ladies and part of her had wanted to be on the receiving end of that stick. 

After all, what younger sister doesn’t end up having a small crush on her older brother’s best friend?

However, Anya grew up and she came to realize that Ezra’s interest in females wasn’t the greatest compliment she could receive nor want. She discovered him to be more of a pretentious flirt, an unapologetic asshole, caring more about himself than anyone else. Of course, Ezra actually mirrors Oz and Ro in personality and perhaps, if the two weren’t her brother and cousin, Anya would find them equally unappealing. 

Her gaze moves to his shirt and she notices that she did get coffee on him, “No, I usually greet them with a hug,” Anya informs him a smirk on her lips. She merely runs her hand through her hair and shifts her gaze back up to his. She’s tempted to reach out and poke him but she doesn’t. Ez is one of the few people who can unnerve Anya because even in all the years of knowing him, he’s still unpredictable. 

She moves past him, going to the table with the coffee pots, as she adds, “Besides, we saw each other a few days ago, I’d hardly call that so long, Ez.”

Anya knows he’ll join her and right as he does, she turns toward him, “So,” she begins, “You ever gonna tell me I look good in front of Oz, or is this our little secret?”

These two are friends!!  These youngest girls need to stick together <3  Lina is totally here for any time Anya needs to get out and esp if she needs an estrogen fix after all these boys hahaha  But anyway, I feel like they’re both v nurturing kind of people?  And I like to think that Lina’s someone who could look after Anya (not that she needs it) <3

AW FRIENDSIE<3 Yes, Anya needs an estrogen fix every so often lol. I am so excited for these two gals being friends!!!! But awwwww Anya so needs someone looking out for her. She does an okay job, but having another person looking out for her (outside of her family) is necessary! Anyways, these two are super close in age??? So perhaps, they’ve gone through school together and always been each other’s study buddy, party buddy, survive high school buddy? Kind of keeping each other accountable and being helpful when necessary? 

Question for you: So Cece is dead and a ghost, which I’m guessing Anya knows she's a ghost, but Lina doesn’t right??

omg so blaise loves his sister so much!!??? and honestly, idk what he would do w/o her haha. I mean, I don’t think they are nearly as close as blaise would like, tbh, but I feel like they still have a good relationship??? and blaise is so happy that the ~wild~ storm kids have taken to her and how she can kinda ~calm~ them and he’s just really happy that they all have each other, at least?? blaise also just really wants anya to know that she can always come to him w/ literally anything anytime??? I think he knows that he’s not her first choice when it comes to confidants, but he’s here just the same. <3

Yes, I agree. I definitely think they have a good (at times close) relationship! Anya is honestly happy she’s not the oldest sibling and in part, is really glad that pressure falls on Blaise. She kind of knows he can handle it better? Plus, it’s good he’s the eldest and not Oz? 

ANYWAYS, she always calls him ‘big brother’ and can tell if he’s had a hard day and will oftentimes try to find aways to cheer him up. I think sometimes, Anya struggles with their mother’s obviously care for Blaise over her other children, but she doesn’t ever blame Blaise. However, it is something that causes her a lot of frustration. I don't think she’s ever shared this with Blaise... but I don’t know if he’d realize it or not?

So these two probs meet in social gatherings, on occasion?  I mean, idk that they’re tight or anything, but Josh ~is tight w the Yorks and so, since Anya’s friends with Evelina York, he probs sort of sees them around together?  But beyond that I’m not really sure?  Let me know if you have any ideas for these two!!

Hmm yeah I see what you’re saying. I feel like Anya would like Josh because he seems like a light hearted person. I think it would be HILARIOUS is sometime he was having coffee at the coffee shop Anya likes to go to and while he was all caught up in work, he reached out for the “waitress” but grabbed Anya. Being all like, can I have more coffee??? And Anya is like: I’m not a waitress??? 

OR MAYBE we should just do that? Say they’ve met at some point and time because of Evelina but don’t remember each other well? Just throw them together and see where it goes?

Sophia died at Lyndhurst when Anya was about 16, and lived there for awhile before then, so I feel that these two probs met before Sophia’s death?  In any case, I absolutely think Sophia likes Anya so much!!!  And wants good things for her!!!!  And would like to wrap her up in a warm blanket and take care of her hahaha  How do you think Anya might feel about Sophe?

Whenever Anya is feeling down, she just goes to Sophia and asks her to talk about all the nice things in life and then Anya feels better.

These two are friends, as well!!  I def feel like, if Anya ever wanted to open up about the anger or frustration she feels, Victor would def provide her w a safe place to do and be a good sounding board.  He’s a v supportive friend and he def wouldn’t judge her at all bc I mean he’s totally been there!!!  Either way though, I do think he’s there for her and like she’ll do something nice and he’ll kinda laugh and be like ‘wow you are a much better person than i am’

Not but, Victor is a psychic!!! so Anya and Victor can deff feel that about each other, which I think is pretty cool. Maybe that’s what pulled them into being friends (cause I feel like they met probably when they were kids, right?) in the first place? It seems like neither of them is super pumped about the power running through their veins. 

So perhaps, they have talked about their struggle with people supernatural?

Anyways! I was also thinking, that since Victor has/was in NYC for awhile, I feel like Anya would be living vicariously through him. She’d want him to tell her all about it - how life is there. Living like a normal person without his name looming over him. I can deff see them being close friends and relating well to each other.

Omgosh, I feel like Anya will not be happy if Verena takes an interest in her. LOL Anya is not a power seeking person nor would she understand the reasons Verena ever did what she did. Yes, she understands love and having it and losing it but she’s like it also makes you miserable and mean and CRAZY. I think Anya would be polite but sharp with Verena. However, I think it’d also be super interesting if Verena did decided to instruct Anya on being a witch. With her hiding her budding magic at the moment... Maybe it’d be a super interesting plot line down the line of Verena discovering that Anya can actually preform her magic and that it’s not just immaculate as she’s led everyone to believe. Cause I’m sure she won’t be able to keep it a secret for long? What do you think?

Hello, again, Annie!  <3  Ok, so one thing Aldus does believe in is family!!  And, whatever else may be the case, Anastasia is that.  I feel like he actually quite cottons to her tbqh bc, like Blaise, she is v sane and I think he responds to that pr well for the most part, yknow?  Plus, she’s close w Beatrice, Aldus’ reincarnated daughter, so she has an advantage in that honestly hahaha

I feel like Anya isn’t sure what to do with Aldus? She’s just ?? like ?? BUT Bea has lost her dad (and dad’s are important, to a degree, to Anya) so as long as he’s being kind to Bea and like doesn’t do anything weird, she’s okay with him - I guess? Like Anya doesn’t care much for the older generation of Storms, but about her generation and making sure they are good. SO as long as he doesn’t do any harm, she’s okay with him. Does that make sense?

I agree, I can see them balancing each other well. Anya feels a lot of responsibility, so I can see Cass’ easy going self is good for her? I know Dot is Anya’s bestie too... but since I’m playing her, I’d like her to have a friend outside of me. LOL. But yeah, I definitely think they could easily be close and good friends and each call the other up when they want to escape their crazy family for a little while.

Anyways... I feel like Anya doesn’t know what to do with Li. I can see where she often finds him overwhelming (in general) but loves his determination. Anya tends to get along with males in authority more than females (thanks to her momma) even if she doesn’t show it. So I’m sure she’s happy to an extent that Lionel has authority and if she needed something she’d come to him. Since we last talked about witchcraft... My guess is that since her mother knows about her being a witch since the belly days, wouldn’t all the Storms know Anya is a witch? So, even if he knows that, he wouldn’t know that she’s actually able to use conscientious magic. Since only Oz and Ro know about that. I don’t know if Anya is going to be ready to EVER share with the masses that she can preform magic. LOL. She’s like lets keep that in the bottle. Power scares her and she just doesn’t want anyone to know. BUT YES, I think she doesn’t mind Lionel and probably enjoys all the positive words he has to say about her. :)

**PSA for a past relationship**

Hey all - 

I’ve been thinking about Anya’s characterization quite a bit today and I have come to the conclusion that she had a serious relationship with a boy while in her teenage years. I feel like it fits her memo and that it was the type of relationship that anyone looking at them would say, “Oh they’re going to end up spending their whole lives together.” However, obviously, it’s something that didn’t end up lasting and ended more or less with her heartbroken. I’m still working out all my thoughts about it, BUT if anyone is interested in this, please let me know!!

I’m happy to hash out ideas and such.

witchcraft, coffee, & ezra w. ~ ezrya

One of Anya’s favorite places to spend time in is a coffee shop during the late afternoon hours. It’s a place she can go to hide herself behind a book or meet up for a cup of coffee with a friend. Mostly, to get away from the Storm estate for a few hours. 

Today, she’s hidden away in the back of the shop, nested on the cushioned window sill. Anya has a big heavy book in her hands and although she’s been trying to read it for hours she can’t focus. For one, there’s too many people coming in and out of the shop, basically every other second. But most importantly, Anya is plagued by the reality that there’s going to be a funeral for Miles Griffith and Constance York. Which is strange because she is friends with both of them. 

She’s grown up in a world where death hasn’t necessarily meant death, death. Rather, it’s meant a loss of the flesh and blood but there’s still a chance of turning into a ghost at Lyndhurst. Which Miles and Cece both did. So, although, to Anya her friends are still pretty present in her life, there’s still the element of having to say goodbye to their physical self? You know, comforting their loves ones, being there, dressing in black.

The thoughts make her dizzy. Noticing she’s out of coffee she slides off the window sill and walks to get a refill with her mug in her hand. Anya knows this place by memory, as she walks she pays little attention to what is right in front of her. Rather, her eyes are on the bit of coffee remaining in her mug. She things about attempting to warm it herself when she walks right into someone. 

“Oh, I am so sorry... I--” Anya begins, luckily the remaining coffee in her mug wasn't enough to spill on him. However, she feels a little less inclined to continue apologizing when she realizes she’s hit into Ezra. “Did you place this?” Is all she finds herself asking instead.

ro is one of anya’s favorite people too! she loves him so much i can’t even! i feel like when they spend time together (just the two of them) they revert into ronya-land? like time slows down. they just bring out the best in each other and honestly, anya just feels so safe when roland or oz are around, tbh. at the moment them two (oz + ro) are the only ones who know about her being able to use conscientious magic... actually, i think it’s interesting anya hasn’t told bea, but maybe they figured it out? and she just hasn’t told anyone yet or ?

though, i feel like anya tends to confide in oz and ro more than she does with bea in general. 

i deff think anya has a soft spot for roland. like she just likes to make him smile and feel better about himself PLUS, i think she knows that there is a softer/happier side of him that just isn’t brought to the surface always. so she definitely, goes the extra mile with him when she knows he’s having a rough time and tries to make things better.

anya decided from a young age that she wanted to be kind

even kind to ez westcombe who doesn’t understand the word no or when he’s being an asshole or staring at her for too long

honestly, this decision was a direct response to wanting to be everything that adelina blackbourne is not

in her journals, she refers to her mother as ‘the ice queen’ 

in person, anya always calls her adelina and has not called her mom since she was two years old

after all... you can’t really be kind and warm to a person who is never kind and warm to you, right?

she doesn’t blame blaise for her mother’s obsession but she does blame her mother for her family being v emotionally unstable

tbh her mother is the root of her anger issues

something she keeps to herself - even from oz, ro, and bea

honestly, oz, ro, and bea are the light of her life and she doesn’t know what she would do without them

they may not see this, but she learned her kindness from them

she knows she should blame her father too, but in a family predominately male, she would have thought them ladies would have stuck together!

besides, her father is only human 

perhaps, that’s why things are different with him

he’s always had the ability to show her compassion when she needs it

her budding witchcraft is also a source of anger

anya is extremely fearful of being a witch

mostly because she worries it’ll turn her into her mother and her aunts and anyone who possesses such power

she doesn't ever want to lose sight of herself and being kind

it’s what keeps her grounded: Her need to remain “the responsible storm daughter”

however, anya is petrified of losing herself to something she doesn't know how to control or even understand 

this often results is anger outbursts, which typically happen behind her bedroom door or when no one is watching 

recently, her research on being a witch has resulted in covering witchcraft books with new covers 

this way she can sit in coffee shops and read them without getting peculiar looks

anya is REALLY good with a needle and thread and would kind of love to be a seamstress 

most of the clothes she wears, she’s made them herself 

why buy the expensive stuff (which she can obviously afford) when she can make them herself?

growing up, gabriel was her mannequin 

she’d test out all her clothes on him, while he shared stories from the books he’d read

recently, she’s found her interest peaked by caleb young

he’s nice and he’s prospect who (if he wanted to) could take her far away from the storm estate 

it’s not something anya thinks about a lot, but she wonders if she would be happier in a far away place

then again, far away places only really exist in ones dreams
