Hmmm, Lizzy, I’m kind of drawing a blank here bc I feel like these two just oh wait they have one thing in common (kind of) hahah  Josh probs knew Roland best when he was w Evelina?  And honestly, it wasn’t Josh’s place and he def said nothing (esp bc he’s sure ppl would think the same of him and Helena), but he probs didn’t like Lina w Roland and felt she’d be better off w someone else tbqh  I def think he’s a lil protective of the Yorks hahaha Anyway, what might Roland make of him?

okay, so roland was def on his absolute best behavior when he was w/ lina (but that’s relative haha) and honestly if he was getting ~disapproving vibes~ from josh (idk how obvious josh was about how he felt but I feel like roland is also super sensitive to that kind of thing??) he would have decided that he hated him based on that??? and it’s not really josh’s fault b/c honestly it is really just roland being frustrated w/ himself b/c he KNOWS he isn’t good enough but when other people feel the same way, it’s harder to hide from it and yeah I can see him taking his frustrations about himself out on josh (which I’m sure would do wonders for josh approving of lina/roland #facepalm) and even tho they aren’t together anymore, I can see him just going out of his way to be an ass to josh right now???? I do think he would have been a little ~mixed~ back when he was dating lina b/c he while he would be hella frustrated w/ himself (and therefore josh) there’s also lina to consider so he’d try to be better with josh (but ultimately fail) but now he’s not with lina so he doesn’t care about josh at all and yeah i’m so sorry

Ok, Sophia is one of Beatrice’s bffs and a ghost here at Lyndhurst for the past 8 years (aka since he was about 18) and before that, she lived there for awhile as a human, so I def feel like these two know each other!  They’re…so…different, so I can actually see a few possibilities here hahaha

They balance each other!  They both love Beatrice, giving them a certain commonality, and both help curb the other’s extremes.  They actually make great friends and look out for each other.

They completely do!!! not!!!!! understand one another at all, communicate poorly, and generally leave each other’s presence w an expression or irritation and/or sheer confusion

Every time they meet, they argue.  At first it was probs about bigger, more meaningful things, but atp they tick each other off so much, it could literally be about the dumbest thing in the world!!!!  They cannot!!!! stand!!!! each other!!!!

They actually really????? just don’t really mesh????  But they also don’t really feel that strongly about each other bc they’re just ppl and when they run into each other they’re both just kind of like ‘oh…hey…’ and kind of move on

So I actually think that it might be a slight combination of these??? Like I think that when Roland first met her, he didn’t understand her and certainly did not understand why Beatrice was bffs with her (plus I feel like there may always be a certain amount of jealousy towards beatrice’s friends tbh???) 

That being said, i think that once he finally got to know SOphia, he realized that he liked her??? And I think that he always liked Anthony and he just really appreciated that they were two genuine and down to earth people and that’s so rare in roland’s life and ultimately he couldn’t hate her anymore and they slowly became friends and maybe now they actually are and they help balance each other and yeah, they def aren’t as close as sophia/beatrice, but I feel like roland might just seek out sophia whenever he’s feeling especially frustrated with his life/lyndhurst b/c she’s just a reminder that not all things are bad here??? although he def hates that she has to spend eternity here??? like as far as roland is concerned she’s legit in a ~semi-living~ hell right now -- like he can legit think of nothing worse than being trapped at lyndhurst forever

Ok, so while, on one hand, Verena is kind of obsessed w the Storms, on another level if they can’t advance her, she doesn’t??? care?????  And in her book, Roland is useless to her, so while coming and being all ‘im ur mother’ @his twin she was probs kinda like ‘who’re you again?’ @roland basically smdh  I also feel like Verena resents Celeste bc she was the lady of Lyndhurst and like there’re just so???? many????? positives in Verena’s relationships cleArLY  anyway, she’s obv been around his whole life, but I think she’s more likely to roll her eyes at him than play the dutiful aunt/whatever she is to him hahaha

honestly I don’t think roland cares about verena at all either??? like she’s just another annoying ghosts that haunts his home and the less he sees of her the better (#privacy) ... that being said, I can see them occasionally have snark fests re: his mom sometimes and that being the closest thing they ever have to actual bonding haha. but for the most part, I feel like roland just makes sarcastic comments @ her and honestly just finds her to be super annoying and wishes she could just move out but shE’LL NEVER LEAVE and “i hate everything” ~ roland, everyday

Lizzy what would this even ommmgggggg  Ok, so I can see a couple variables at play here, either separately, or some combo?????  First, though, I want to sort of establish what we know?  So Roland, being a Storm, was born and raised at Lyndhurst and Aldus, being a ghost, is haunting it.  Aldus also would’ve been heavily exposed to Roland from infancy, given that his twin sister was Aldus’ reincarnated daughter and Aldus was sure to be involved

aldus actually (tries to?) bond w roland we lil bros gotta stick together ++ that level of snark i meannnn #respect

aldus lowkey adopts roland as his own, given that beatrice is his twin

aldus rejects roland, given that he’s cyril and celeste’s kid #gross and is trying to butt in on aldus’ family scene s/o to bb beatrice

aldus attempts to drill it into roland’s head that its his duty to protect beatrice

aldus is generally an unpredictable jackass and sometimes he’s kind and protective and giving and other times he’s cruel and selfish and snide????

Bc Aldus is…Aldus, all of these things could be simultaneously possible, none of it could have happened, or some of it and not others.  Really, anything can happen w him bc he’s so gd moody honestly hahah there are so many other possibilities as well bc he’s so changeable?????  I”m down for whatever!  ;DDD

AHHH OMG WHAT IS HAPPENING (idk but I love it) 

I actually weirdly want a combination of all of these things??????? Like I can totally see all of them happening and maybe Aldus just has a lot of conflicting emotions re: roland b/c yeah on one hand he’s bea’s twin but on the other he’s celeste’s and cyril’s kid????? and on one hand, he probably has seen that bea really cares for roland, but yeah on the other hand, roland is also butting in on his family hahah and omg like what a mess???

if that’s the case, I feel like roland would have weird feelings re: aldus too??? b/c like if he lowkey adopts him, even while being super changeable in the way he treats him, he’s STILL a better father figure than his actual father??? I mean lionel will always be his ~actual~ dad #facepalm, but like adlus is kinda like a second dad and honestly I feel like he might get even more daddy issues from aldus than his actual dad b/c he’ll see how aldus is with beatrice and honestly part of him would crave that same sort of love and attention b/c he def doesn’t get it from cyril but aldus will never love him as much as he loves beatrice and I think it’s also obvious that whatever genuine affection aldus may or may not have for roland pretty much stems from his affection for beatrice and I think that will also feed into roland’s insecurities that he’s just not good enough??? And I think he feels that way a lot b/c it’s obvious that celeste’s fav is lionel and he probably thinks that lionel’s fav is also beatrice since he’s easier on her than him (and since roland is his heir r/n, you know lionel is expecting a lot from him and roland knows he can never live up to those expectations and omG KATE I’M GETTING SO EMOTIONAL RIGHT NOW UGH)

so since roland and gigi’s siblings are getting married, I’m sure they’d know each other?? idk how gigi feels about lionel/drea, but roland is def 100% against it b/c he feels like it’s just something lionel is doing out of “duty to lyndhurst” and honestly that’s just not a good enough reason to do anything as far as roland is concerned haha 

idk about you, but I just feel like these two would clash on a lot of things?? and I also feel like roland’s just been in a bad mood lately b/c of all the things that are going on in is life and he’s not feeling especially social and I just see him being an ass to the davenports (except for dot who he’s become friends w/ which might not sit well with gigi???)?? and I’m guessing that this is the first time that he’s met gigi since she’s been so busy with ballet in the past, so i doubt gigi is getting a good impression of him haha -- but thoughts???

so their siblings are getting married, haha, so I’m sure they know each other??? plus cedes is bffs with beatrice so i’m sure they’ve known each other for awhile now??? I can honestly see them enjoying hanging out together b/c they are both close w/ bea and all three of them get into trouble all the time and just think of what would happen if the three of them got together??? but I can also weirdly see them hating each other???? I feel like roland and ezra probably started out as friends??? (especially since it says on ezra’s bio that they are frenemies?) like I can see them both hanging with oz and getting into all kinds of trouble haha. but like as soon as ezra started pursuing anya and anya is like “ew no” then I can see where there’s some tension here? b/c anya is one of roland’s favorite people and no one is aloud to mess with/bother her and ezra is def doing that as far as roland is concerned, so he’s definitely not a fan anymore

okay, so I think that roland is kinda against the andrea/lionel marriage b/c he doesn’t think they really love each other and “duty to lyndhurst” has never been a good enough reason for roland to do anything, so he just doesn’t get it/thinks it’s a sham/basically is not a fan and will def say his opinions on this to everyone smdh

that being said, I do think that he really does enjoy dot’s company and finds her amusing and likes hanging w/ her. do you think that’s it’s really obvious that she’s got a crush on him, btw?

i’m just picturing roland helping miles get the hang of being a ghost and that mostly includes roland laughing @ miles and calling him an idiot when he tries to do something/asks “stupid” questions and smdh roland is the worst friend. :) 

although he def acts like an ass 99% of the time he does really care about miles and constance and hates that they are dead/he knows enough about ghosts to know that it sucks and that they’ve got this like half life laid out before them and they have to spend it at lyndhurst (ew) and there’s literally no escape for them and tbh roland can’t think of a worse fate and on the dl part of him wished they’d just died b/c he’d rather die than have to be a ghost and live there forever haha #funtimes

UGH KATE MY HEART HURTS A LOT WHEN I THINK ABOUT THESE TWO???? 

okay so I feel like roland probably had ~feelings~ for evelina for a long time b/f they started dating??? and at first, he was probably an extra asshole towards her mostly b/c he didn’t know what was happening/what to do w/ them smdh but then ultimately he realized that he did just want to be near her/be her friend, so he softened and I feel like he probably ended up opening up to evelina more than anyone else and I just lakjsdlfkjadslkfjasldfalskjdflkajsf

and okay so then they started dating and roland was honestly the happiest/most grounded that he’s ever been in his life??? not that he was this perfect person (far from it) but I think he probably stopped drugs and drank less (still a lot but less haha) and was moving in the right direction!! that being said, I do think that he was kinda protective/possessive and easily jealous (not that he didn’t trust her not to cheat on him but I think he has a lot of insecurities and he was always afraid that she’d wake up and realize that she could do a lot better than him) and I can see them having some arguments resulting from those things, possibly, but overall I feel like they were pretty happy together???? 

but how do you think things ended btw??? I feel like it didn’t say in either of their bios but I’m too lazy right now to go and check? but I can see her breaking up w/ him for a number of reasons, but I can also see him breaking up with her, even though he still loved her, just because he thinks that he’s not good enough/she’ll be better off w/o him?? thoughts???

so I feel like roland feels really guilty for having feelings for lucy beyond friendship since she’s literally dating his best friend??? not that he’s ever gonna act on them b/c of that, but still??? but omg I feel like lucy was just this breath of fresh air when he met her, y’know??? b/c she’s just so unapologetically herself and what you see is what you get and she calls you on your shit and just she’s so incredibly genuine!!! and roland lives in this world where everything is fake and put on and she’s just the complete opposite of all of that!!! 

I think he’d probably be kinda weird around her tho??? like he does like her and he wants to be friends b/c of that ++ victor, but he also doesn’t wanna get ~too~ close haha so he’s probably chill one minute and then suddenly he’ll be more withdrawn and leave abruptly and ngl he kinda is a low key drama queen but idk what I expected b/c he is a storm <333

So, as I said in my comment to Beatrice, Lionel and Roland are 11 years apart and I think he loves them like siblings ofc but also has almost parental feelings, as well?????  I also feel like the twins can get away w more than anyone else, but by the same token, I def feel like Lionel is more firm w Roland than w Beatrice????  And I’m not really sure why that is, exactly?  If it’s bc he’s a boy (and therefore Lionel’s heir #whoops ;D) or if it’s bc he saw something more of himself in Roland or if it’s bc he’s younger and/or he was trying to balance out Celeste or if it’s just a personality thing????  But I do think it’s there, whatever the reason may be.  

I also think that, as Roland’s gotten older and more rebellious, Lionel’s gotten stricter w him which may or may not actually be helpful to anyone but there it is ;DDD  Bc Lionel’s king of responsibility, I think it confuses, stresses, and irritates him that Roland isn’t showing any sign of buckling down????  I also feel like Lionel felt hopeful of Roland’s future when he was w Evelina and was disappointed when they broke up bc he’d kind of hoped that Evelina might bring out a more ~responsible side of him.  But, more than disappointed, I think Lionel’s actually worried about Roland and he doesn’t???? know????? what to do????? except to double down and try to ram some sense into him and I feel like that probs isn’t ~actually the best way to handle it but there it is hahaha

When it comes down to it, though, Lionel loves Roland so much and he’d do whatever it took to help him - which is frankly what he thinks that whole ~tough love~ is doing?????  Like, it’s actually something he’s doing bc he wants so much more for his brother and knows that Roland has so much untapped potential he just has a v strange way of showing it????  But I s2g he’s trying his best

okay so I feel like that’s also true in how roland views lionel??? like I’m getting the sense that their dad was kinda neglectful and when he wasn’t ignoring his kids, his kids wished he was haha and so I think that lionel has actually filled that father role more than anyone else in roland’s life??? and okay so I think that he def loves him a lot but he does NOT understand him and a lot of lionel’s life choices frustrate roland 

so like i know we talked about the storm ~family dinners~ briefly once and honestly that feels like a perfect example of that -- like lionel just wants the family to sit down and have a nice dinner and for it all to be perfect and meanwhile roland knows that it won’t be/can never be and makes a point of pointing out everything that’s wrong all while making sarcastic and blunt comments to include (but not limited to) how their mom probably killed their dad ~thumbs up emoji~

and I think lionel’s expectations for him and lyndhurst and the future all seem so unrealistic to roland and I feel like roland is determined to show him just how fucked up everything is and I kinda feel like sometimes he acts out literally just to piss his brother off??? and so when lionel is getting more and more strict with roland, roland gets worse and worse haha and it’s beautiful 

but yeah I do think that he was better when he was with evelina??? and I think she did help to bring out a better and softer side of him but now that they’ve broken up, I think that he’s gotten even worse, haha. honestly, I think he’s been getting progressively worse and lionel should worry b/c there’s every chance that he’s gonna die in a fiery car crash or overdose or sometime but I CRY b/c the more his mom and/or lionel try to pull his back, the harder he’s gonna push away and WHAT A FAMILY I’M JEALOUS
