Thank you! <3<3 Right now I’ve gotta get some sleep so I might feel well enough to go to work tomorrow, but I spent most of my day writing and am excited to continue!

Here’s some random drabble/mini-fic ideas I’ve had brewing that I can use to shake some writer’s rust. And yes they're all smut tbh I'm not writing anything else until I get off my ass and finally re-write/progress on Awake My Soul. Summaries intentionally vague to not give away too much.

Erick/fem OC: Semi-AU (non wrestling.) Inspired by the backstory hinted at in the twitter video Erick posted a few months ago. Kinda dark. Stockholm syndrome.

Luke/fem!Erick: Fluff that takes a BIG turn, featuring Bray at the darkest I've ever written him.

Luke/fem OC: Takes place while Luke is out injured. Kinda fluffy, kinda pure smutty. D/s. (This one I’m leaning towards and have written a couple paragraphs of.)

Luke/fem OC 2: Features an entire Wyatt Family cult, not just the main three/four members. Pretty fluffy/domestic, with a couple twists and turns.

It might not be significant, but I noticed the song in the video is the 3rd verse of 'Mary Had a Little Lamb' - "Why does the lamb love Mary so? The eager children cry; Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know, The teacher did reply."

I actually didn’t watch the video with the audio on until AFTER I’d made that post, lol. I was doing something else and listening to Wrestling Observer Radio when I saw someone mention the video, and was only going to watch it quickly before going back to what I was doing, so I muted it and kept WOR on. But then I got sidetracked and ended up spending an hour plus watching/capping it.

But anyways, they’ve used the first verse with imagery of Erick in at least one promo; I can’t find it right now but it was shortly after they debuted, I remember Bray was sitting on a porch swing. It might have been NXT only? EDIT : found it.

Also, because I’m not familiar with the song beyond the first verse, I just looked up the lyrics, and noticed the second verse, “He followed her to school one day, Which was against the rule, It made the children laugh and play, To see a lamb at school.“ And I immediately remembered this promo which uses wording very similar to those lyrics. The third verse could be interpreted into when he broke away from and then re-joined Bray.

I can’t find any meaning beyond maybe it being in reference to his relationship with his mother? Or maybe his loyalty to Bray? EDIT AGAIN: Or shit maybe I’m wrong and that is an actual living girl in the sheep mask to whom Erick is a protector and father figure?

Alright, so I (probably like a lot of you) went through that new Rowan video frame-by-frame, and here’s my thoughts:

If you just watch it and maybe pause a couple times, you’ll probably get the impression that Erick is murdering women for some reason and collecting their hair. However there’s one big, interesting piece of the puzzle that you only see/can read clearly if you pause at the right time:

That article is about someone with the last name Rowan and a first name ending with N, aged 47, who seemingly murdered a woman in her late 30s. Now, Erick is clearly not that old. (Here’s the larger image where the text is legible, since tumblr resized it.)

So taking that into account; my theory is that when Erick was a child his father murdered his mother, then some years later he escaped from prison at which point a now adult Erick murdered him. Erick collecting women’s (who he’s apparently murdered) hair, and what is seemingly a doll that he’s made or a corpse he’s keeping (it looks like a young girl but never moves, so I’m guessing it’s not living) are “tributes” to his mother. That also fits with the existing backstory/character traits of him being childlike and innocent, but also a possibly sociopathic monster. It would also explain why he’s with the Wyatts, they’re the family he never had.

EDIT: I just realized that in the above pic the middle photo is a family portrait; with a young-ish boy on the left with his eyes colored black, a woman sitting in the middle with marker scribbles covering her face, and a man on the right whose face is torn from the photo.

#i read a post once that described 90s kids as the generation of nostalgia #because so much technological advancement happened in such a rapid timeframe when we were growing up #that we can clearly remember having technologies that are now obsolete #like going from a corded hugeass phone to a small computer in your pocket just within our formative years is a major thing #and it sparks a nostalgia for our seemly ‘simpler’ childhoods #because so much rapid development makes it seem like it was a lot longer ago than it actually was (x)

Just to add onto that, our childhood wasn’t even technology based. We grew up knowing of chalk, skateboards, jump rope, street hockey, playgrounds, butterfly collecting, etc. Slowly technology took over our lives and now there are hardly kids playing outside in the summer. We can clearly remember our childhood as it was and now we can see the clear line between it. We were the generation right smack in the middle of it all. Our parents were of non-tech and our children/young siblings will be all tech.

Not to mention, ours was the last generation that grew up with all those bright promises of “work hard, go to college, and you’ll have a successful life,” only to find those hopes abruptly dashed when the housing bubble burst. Milliennials have grown up expecting that disappointment, because for them, the problem has been there since Day One.

So 90s kids aren’t just nostalgic…we’re BITTER. And we ache for those days when we could still think that the world was boundless and full of the opportunities we were promised since the first day of kindergarten.
