If you know me well, this post probably needs no introduction. If you don't know me super well, you may wonder why on earth I get so giddy about Hanson, or why I travel to see them, or why I've bee...
I’m sure some of you can relate :)

“When does the family story end?” my 4 year old daughter asked me tonight. She meant our family. I’m pretty sure she meant, ‘when do we die’ based on what she said next. Like me, I think she views us as all playing out an elaborate script. What it gets me thinking about is that this house, the table, the room, the stuff in it…one day (maybe now), will be “dated”. No one will want it, no one will give thought to the conversations that took place here. None of the items we used to have dinner here tonight will mean shit. Even the real stuff, 'the moments’ will have evaporated before too long. So what we are left with is “our story.” It has to be interesting while it’s playing out, because like a lot of good stories, it may not last forever. You have your story. I have my story. This is our story. What should it be?
Sounds like you have a song concept on your hands, my friend.

Spiked root beer floats! Best #cocktailfriday slash birthday drink ever. Thanks to my amazing coworkers for making my birthday awesome this year! (Taken with Instagram at ShowClix, Inc.)
Since we're posting pictures of/with Tony Lucca lately in honor of his success so far on The Voice, here's my personal fave. Circa 2007, yo.
My beer Vs. Greg's beer. I think he's winning.
It's probably a good thing that I'm not all that superstitious since I'm working on the 13th floor of a fairly large high rise building.
Top 10 Things I’m Looking Forward to and/or Happy About in 2012
1. Starting my new position at ShowClix!
2. Finally living in the same city as my boyfriend again after almost 2 years of being in different places. It’s nice to be able to have impromptu dates or meet up for dinner/lunch/drinks, etc., without having to plan an entire weekend’s worth of hanging out.
3. Reading more now that I have a Kindle Fire (thanks Mom & Dad!)
4. Making my own coffee at home in the mornings with my new Keurig (thanks Greg!)
5. No longer having to drive everywhere because I will now be an official city bus rider on the regular. This may seem annoying to most, but for me this means having more time to myself on the way to/from work to do other things besides drive (read, write, blog!, who knows), not having to worry about parking or PAYING for parking, not having to worry about gas money (as often), not having to worry about directions and/or getting lost, not having to worry about scraping snow and ice off of my car in the morning… basically a lot less worrying!
6. Living in a city that I absolutely love, that continuously offers me new things to do and places to go, new food to try, new people to meet, etc. etc. etc. I have wanted to live here for a few years now, and have never lived outside of my comfort zone/hometown, so this has definitely been a long time coming.
7. Getting a dog — not for a few months but I hope to make this happen!
8. No longer having to wear ugly/uncomfortable dress pants to work! I will now be working in a jeans-friendly environment. This doesn’t mean that I can dress like a slob, but it’s a much trendier and much more fun atmosphere and dress code.
9. Concerts…without having to travel! It’s only January 1st and I already have plans to see Ingram Hill, Hanson, Needtobreathe, and Tyrone Wells. Four of my favorite artists and they are all coming to ME this year, rather than me traveling to see them. What a huge change.
10. Working in downtown Pittsburgh, in a high-rise building, in probably the coolest office I’ve ever been in.
New year, new city, new job. Can't wait to start my new position with ShowClix on Tuesday. Bring it, 2012... I'm ready. (Wasn't that delightfully dramatic?) :)
Tonight instead of going bar hopping, we decided to recreate Greg's stepmom's Slovak pork and sour kraut recipe. It's pork loin with sour kraut and these amazing little dumplings. Yum. Pretty impressed with ourselves right now.
