https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/article/youth-radicalization-rising-in-canada-canadian-security-intelligence-service-report/
A new report from the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) has brought to light alarming data about youth radicalization in Canada.
This article feels like a complete Red Herring to try and justify the eradication of internet anonymity and to remove minors from the internet altogether for the sake of “protecting the children.”
“The main challenge of RMVE youth radicalization is determining which teen engaging with terrorist materials and violent content online is a genuine threat and could mobilize to violence,” the report said.
The situation in Canada is dire, more and more we see families having to make sacrifices that shouldn’t be made for the sake of keeping a roof over their heads and the only people to blame are the people in power, so the youth being ‘radicalized’ against the government or expressing displeasure over the prospect of HAVING NO FUTURE is them purposefully spinning the narrative and twisting the reality to make it seem like unrestrictive access to knowledge and resource is the problem.
Why is it that this is only a recent problem? Why is it that this topic is being brought up now when the disparity between the working class and the 1% is causing unrest in the public and the children are noticing? The government doesn’t want to address the problem, they want to find a scapegoat to keep us in the dark to continue exploiting us for their benefit.
If the youth is considering acts of terrorism against their own government, the people to blame aren't the youths or the internet. It’s the government for pushing the youth in this direction from their inaction and complete disregard to the lives of them and their loved ones. Children and teens are so incredibly perceptive, they KNOW something is wrong with the way the system is set up and instead of the people in power using this knowledge to try and make things better, they want to restrict us into compliance by leaving us in the dark.
You want the youths to be happy and not consider extreme acts of violence?
ENSURE THEY HAVE A FUTURE TO LIVE FOR, AND STOP EXPLOITING THEIR PARENTS DAY AND NIGHT JUST TO MAKE RENT.
Kotak suggests regulatory measures could help force online platforms to comply with legislation, but he says the platforms themselves could be doing more, too. “I don’t think they’re doing enough when it comes to protecting youth and ensuring the content on their platforms is safe,” he said.
Fellow Canadians, we have a battle ahead of us and we need to make sure Neo-Liberalism does not win. We are following in the steps of the United-States government. Every day I see it more and more, and the government is purposefully controlling news outlets to not report on the things that would get the public angry and fired up against them.
Meanwhile, just weeks ago, in an Ottawa courtroom, a youth was found guilty of terrorism charges involving Islamic State-inspired plans to attack Jewish people.
Do you think this has anything to do with the government's blatant ignorance of the genocide in Gaza? Do you think, perhaps, that teaching us in the classroom about the cost of inaction during WW2 would inspire the youths to act when the government won't (albeit in the wrong way but you have to pardon their naivete).
I’m tired of the government blaming its people for things they are doing wrong.
Do you remember, your President Nixon? Do you remember, the bills you have to pay Or even yesterday?
A reminder that this tumblr is not a safe place for any kind of bigotry.

i think there is something to be said about this wave of white women made media that is so surface level with an underlying racist and/or insensitive bias and that refuses to engage with criticism. i'm talking taylor swift's the life of a showgirl, emerald fennell's wuthering heights, colleen hoover, the acotar series and booktok in general, etc. whenever you dare to raise concerns about the superficiality or the questionable writing or the treatment of poc in those pieces you get shut down with a "it's not that deep" or "let women have fun". this weaponisation of misogyny to justify slop made for mass consumption, especially considering how wide spread it is becoming, scares me quite a bit. to quote princess weekes, "the girlypopification of anti-intellectualism" is truly concerning, and i do believe it is linked to the rise of far right movements worldwide. if you refuse to engage with what you are being presented with, and exclusively consume brain smoothing content "for fun" then yeah you do become more susceptible to propaganda. it is that deep.

From ‘Captain Canada’ to the ‘Gravy Plane’: Why Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s popularity has taken a major hit.
He was “Captain Canada” last year and at one point, the most popular conservative in Canada. But now Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s taken a hit in the polls after a series of decisions that include the purchase and almost immediate sale of a $28.9-million private jet that his critics are calling the “gravy plane”. Two recent polls have seen the Ontario PCs drop enough to find themselves almost on par with the Liberals, a party that’s currently helmed by an interim leader. Doug Ford’s personal approval ratings are worse, with more Ontarians unhappy with him than not. Can he turn this around? We’re joined by Robert Benzie, Queens Park Bureau chief for The Toronto Star.
