BIO:
Life before Hogwarts was perfect, in his opinion. He knew that sometimes his mom and father got upset when reading the newspaper. There was always whispers between them about comments they (the paper people) made of her or him and his brother. A family full of loons, they say. At the time he didn’t really understand what that meant and his mother often tried to keep that from him so it didn’t bother him.
Lysander was often the quiet one, reading his books or doing something with his mother. He particularly enjoyed going to the store with her and making crafts. Their fridge was often covered in pictures he drew of mermaids or nargles or their family because of this. It didn’t change much even as he grew up.
In hogwarts there was some bullying because of the excerpts from the prophet. It eventually died down after he had gotten angry with a classmate who made a comment about his mother and the boy had landed a good punch on the other for it. Lysander wasn’t one to get violent often, but there were just things that set him off easily and people learned really quick what those things were.
Outside of hogwarts, his sociability had gotten better but he still preferred being alone with a book than out in public at a bar or something. The traveling for work did help with that, though, not as much as he had hoped. Lysander tries his best to be ‘normal’ for the sake of staying out of the newspaper and for the sake of his mother.
Elizabeth’s eyebrows raised in amusement as she nodded while listening to him. “Right, right.. Do you forget what they did to muggles and muggleborns during the last wizard war? Voldemort and his lot. I didn’t. I heard those stories most of my childhood growing up. My parents decided to throw away their squib of a daughter but I don’t doubt for one second they’d do the same to me if they had the chance because their ignorance is greater than the love they so claimed to have for me. In war, no one’s really innocent. Sure, muggles have blood on their hands but let’s not sit and pretend that wix do not. I understand it. I understand it a lot more than you might think. My family is from the sacred twenty eight and I was the smudge that they tried so desperately to erase so yes, I do think that they should just stay in their lane and mind their own. You can’t have it both ways.”
He licked his lips, looking down at his hands. To him it sounded like she was more bitter over her parents than anything which was understandable. Lysander took a breath, which he needed to calm himself. Not that he was angry, he was more anxious than anything and yelling at himself for even opening his mouth. “I’m sorry that your parents were a part of the problem. I didn’t forget about the war, not in the slightest. A family friend lost his parents to said war. Quick question, what exactly would be staying in their lane look like to you?”
Roxanne struggled with her feelings. It seemed after the bite that everything felt magnified and that was another reason why she kept away from most of her family and people she wasn’t close to. Roxanne also sometimes worried if they were afraid of her. Rose wasn’t but Rose seemed to be the only one that she could confidently say was not scared of her. There was doubt with everyone else– even her brother. She knew her brother meant well and that he was trying to bridge their relationship once more but she wasn’t looking forward to having dinner with him. She hadn’t even responded to his messages yet, not really having much energy to do so.
She enjoyed sitting down with Lysander like this. She enjoyed his company and the fact that they could just coexist in silence. Roxanne found comfort when he braided her hair and when he read next to her. It was like everything was okay for that one moment. She then heard his voice and looked up at him from where she was laying down. She bit her lower lip before she let out a soft sigh, “Freddie wants to have dinner together.” She finally admitted as she messed with her fingers.
That explained a lot. It was bound to happen, he was sure of it. It honestly took a lot of effort in his case to stay in her life himself. Showing up unannounced, sitting in her room before she got home, making dinner or having sweets, making sure she knew he was afraid. Of course he wasn’t afraid. Roxanne was probably the first person to ever make him feel safe outside of home.
Lysander pressed his lips together a moment. “Do you want to just vent or do you want me to give an opinion or solution?” he asked as he tied off a braid and let it fall. “Also, are you ready to let him back in? You know it doesn’t have to be instant, right?” he added.

Elizabeth was a psychologist– yes. However, that was something she was paid to do and so she did it. She was exceptional at her career despite being so young but outside of the office, she wasn’t someone who really showed much empathy or cared for what people were saying so when this person went off on a tangent about how they couldn’t believe the state of the world and what was happening, she couldn’t help but let out a sigh. “You act like this is new. War is not new and political disagreements aren’t either. What’s the big deal? Personally, I hate that wix think they can come to the muggle world as they please. If they want to isolate us then they should stay in their own lane.”
It honestly frustrated him when people complained about how the wix kept hidden. What did they expect after what happened in Salem? That they’d just forgive and forget? People have shown that that wasn’t ever the case. History always repeated itself and he was sure that’s exactly where they were headed. “Personally I think anyone who thinks wix are isolating another group are not educated in the matter and should probably do more research on what the other community had done to them in the past and why they chose to stay hidden. It wasn’t to isolate but rather to protect themselves and frankly I think they had every right to. I mean people are back out there hunting them when that’s the exact thing they were trying to prevent. When people don’t understand it they fear it. It’d be like governments admitting aliens exist. But of course the roles can be switched on the matter as well.”
it was nice being home for once in his life where claude could just stay in one place for a while. he rests his hands on the bar top as he looks over at the other. “how about this, one shot, on me, and we can pretend like the rest of this week never happened, and everyone is happy, yeah? yeah.” he says agreeing with his own words not giving the other much time to speak. he had finally settled down in his own space and can no longer say that he lives in this inn on a day to day basis which was what he did when he first graduated. “it’s nice to be home for a while, y’know. how have things been with you?” he asks flagging down the bartender already.
He hadn’t seen Claude in a while, not since he went on tour. As proud as he was he did miss the other. Honestly, he just hoped life was better for the other. Lysander blinked, looking down at his cup that had juice in it. “Um, Claude, you know I don’t drink.” he mumbled. Lysander chalked it up to Claude just being away for too long that he forgot, no hard feelings. “You can have the shot. I’ll stick with my juice. It’s nice to have you home though. You should tell me all about the tour. Where’d you go? Who played with you? Did you open for people or did they open for you?”
Lysander stormed into the flat in a panic. He didn’t even knock like he usually would. The boy shut the door quickly, pressing himself against it before locking it. He knew his parents would suspect him to come here. “Rose?!” he called out, running off towards her room. “Rose, please tell me you know something about clothes because if not I am a dead man.” he pleaded as he slid into her room. Lysander held a garment in his hands, one of his father’s favorite wool jumpers. “How do I fix this? I tried to be nice and help with laundry and now my dad’s sweater is two sizes too small. And why in the world would you ever make clothes that don’t go in a dryer?”
The ocean always captivated him. Something about it always drew him back. When he wasn’t working, this was his favorite place to be. The smell, the breeze, the noise the waves made when they came up and crashed against the stones or the pier. Lysander sat in the dry sand, staring out towards the water. “Ever wonder just what might be out there?” He questioned as he saw a shadow fall over him.
He was reading a book, feet up on the coffee table— without shoes of course— and Roxanne was resting her head on his lap. His fingers mindlessly played with her hair when it wasn’t flipping to the next page. It was a normal occurrence for them to be like this, even when Rose was around. Lysander didn’t really see anything wrong with it but whenever he went over his mom would tease him about it and while he was there Rose was always giving a look like she knew something he didn’t.
Lysander didn’t say much, knowing Roxanne wasn’t having the best of days. All it took was a simple text and he was there. Existing in the moment without complaint. In all honesty, he enjoyed the quiet moments like this. The days he didn’t have to be something he wasn’t or pretend to care about things he didn’t. Knowing that the person he was with understood him and actually liked his company and there wasn’t ever a moment he had to second guess that.
After a bit, his book was set on the arm of the couch and his fingers were working away at little braids in her hair. “You wanna talk about it yet or do you still need time?”
It wasn’t like Lysander was someone that Scorpius could easily get mad at. So he didn’t take it too personal or to heart when he said that it was a means to get him out. He had been rather busy at work and if he was being honest, being away from work was a breath of air. Although, his choice was usually his house which Lysander was right. He should go out more and try to relax a bit. “You know you could have just asked? I wouldn’t have said no to you.”
He acted a bit surprised. A lot of the times he was used to others people doing the same to him so he figured it was normal to do that. Not many people liked it when he just said what he wanted to say. Lysander was often called a bit of a dick for it, that was until he started to not do that. “Boy, if I knew that ahead of time you’d know I’d be dragging you out more. But since we’re here we can just look around, no? You still do those journal things? Maybe we can go look at some new moleskin journals, too. I’ve seen some online that looked really cool and already had the calendar and to do lists in them.”
“right right,” clyde says listening to the other person ramble something. sometimes when people say something they go in one ear and right out the other. he holds out a book that he found a couple of blocks down, it hadn’t looked like that it was there for too long and it wasn’t weathered down by its surroundings. the book looked fairly important as he tapped the bind of it. he holds it out to the person determined that this was its owner. “is this yours? i think i saw it fall out of your coat pocket a bit back there.” he says clearly lying, he couldn’t say that he didn’t take a peak inside. not surprising from clyde he liked meddling in places where he didn’t belong.
He was in the middle of looking over another book recommendation from Scorpius when he was tapped on his shoulder. Ly turned, eyes landing on the book the other was holding out to him. It looked more like a notebook rather than an actual book but Lysander softly took it and opened to a random page. “Mm, no, not mine” he stated. The male closed it and opened the first page seeing if someone had written a name in it or not. “I suppose it wasn’t super important to the person since they didn’t write their name in it. I would say take it to a place where you found it and turn it in in case they go looking for it.” The boy held the book out to the other, glancing at him for a brief moment.
luna knew she was often seen as odd. she grew up being called looney luna - she was used to it. but she had grown out of some of her eccentricity. or at least she thought so. some of that, she figured, came from meeting her husband. he never once made her feel odd or like she was weird and she appreciated it. she had always been comfortable with herself, but that didn’t stop her from feeling a little self conscious when other people started calling her names. but rolf never once made her feel like she was out of place or like she needed to change herself.
despite having grown out of most of her oddness, there were times she felt herself reverting back to things she did in hogwarts - like spacing out and thinking about the unknown. that particular day, she found herself thinking about how closely related dragons where to lizards, if they were related at all. what brought the thought process on was the lizard that had run across the cobble stones as she was walking. “do you think lizards and dragons are related?” she asked out loud to the person next to her.
Lysander looked up at his mom from his book. There were many times he’d often thought that lizards and dragons were a part of the same genome, at least. They shared very similar characteristics and even the muggles had name some after dragons, whether they knew they existed or not. The boy smiled, nodding. “I think it’s possible. Maybe they lost their magic or were born without and that’s what makes them lizards,” he mused with a soft chuckle. His eyes wandered back down to the book he was reading. “I’m sure if we asked dad he’d agree, too,” he added. Maybe even Lorcan would.
Scorpius had never been someone who celebrated Halloween. He’s just always sorta gone along with his friends if they wanted to go out on that night because picking out a costume was always a pain in the ass. He looked around at the shops that they were going to and then back at his friend, “So.. with everything going on, Halloween is still a thing or did that get cancelled?”
It had been a while since he’d seen the other. Really, he knew that telling him it was to get him out and away from work would make Scorpius not want to come so he lied. Lysander paused a moment, staring into the window of one of the shops. “That’s.. a good question.” he stated, tapping his fingers against his leg. The boy let out a sigh. “I just wanted to get you out of the house, honestly, and this seemed like a good excuse to me at the time,” he admitted. Lysander wasn’t ever good at lying. He always felt guilty, no matter the reasoning. To him, no reason was ever a good reason to lie though.
