Appearance:

Russet hair that shines more red in the sunlight. Reaches just above his shoulders.

Hazel eyes with a peculiar mix of brown, grey, and green.

Severe burns from fire scar the right side of his face, including the corner of his lip, his right ear, and a bit of his eyebrow.  Burn spreads across his neck, around his shoulders and down his chest and hip.

A giant brand representing his bargain with his master and High Lord Beron Vanserra spreads across his back in the shape of an elm tree.  Base of the tree starts at his lower back, and branches stretch to his shoulders and up his neck.

Was born with pointed High Fae ears from his sire's side, but were cropped when he was born.  Are mostly human-shaped, but have prominent scars on the top that make them look more square instead of rounded.

Powers:

Daemati: mind reader/manipulator

Backstory:

Born of a human witch made slave and a Lord of the Forest House who was high-ranked in Beron's council.  When his daemati powers were discovered, Beron made a bargain with him to free his mother and remove his bastard title of his sire Lord Angrboda, provided two defined laws: Ensel is forbidden to harm the High Lord---either physically or with his magic---and he is required to obey every order the High Lord gives him. Ensel's sire Lord Angrboda trains him in his daemati powers for almost two years in isolation before he is brought back to serve in Beron's court. This training/torture continues for decades.

Ensel had a hateful relationship with Eris Vanserra before Eris offered an alliance to free Ensel from his bargain by killing Beron. This alliance slowly developed into a sexual relationship that was riddled with tension and severe strains due to their contrasting positions in court and Eris's actions and inaction regarding Beron's violence throughout Autumn. Their relationship kindles into something closer to love after Ensel's mother died due to old age, around sixty years after Ensel made his bargain with Beron.

At the end of the Human War, Ensel was severely burned due to Eris's actions during the final battle. His collar was removed due to the requirements written in the Human/Fae Treaty. Still severely injured, he was sent below the Wall for almost a century to collect information about the humans and their queens. When the last queen Andromache died, he was brought back to Autumn.

Ok so im seeing a lot of tamsand on my dash (for some reason) and ig i wanted go chip in lol.

Hc that the first time tamsand met was when tam was in like his 20s 30s ish. Spring calanmai, in spring, post war, so like tensions between courts are kinda high, and for some reason night or the other courts were also there.

the thing is, tam was absolutely SMASHED it wasnt even intentional, just people kept giving him drinks, and hes like fine ok. And accidentally got drunk. He met rhysand and (mamma Mia voice) dot dot dot.

What can I say- fire night, sparks fly.

Next morning, tam doesnt remember a thing, but rhysand- his world, it was rocked, absolutely life changed, met the mother and all that. He thought tam would remember. But no, come morning pretty male with beautiful eyes was no where to be found.

They only met again years later, maybe when tam is in his 40s to 50s, so long ago, he barely remembers the night, but rhysand remembers everything. It was a ball or banquet or something equally pretentious, gathering of the some of the highest powers of the continent their families and everything. They were introduced and, rhysand was like wow, you're here. Where were you and hes kinda hurt like, damn you dont remember a thing? Tams is mostly oblivious and develops a crush pretty quickly. But you see, tam's first contact with night wasnt rhys- it was his sister. In fact they'd have been friends for many years and draaaaama ✨️😝

Like Jesse has pissed him off one too many times and is walking away from an argument and Nicholas yells after him

“You think I’m not a threat? I want you to say 2 words to your dad. See how he reacts.”

Then he tells Jesse his mums name and storms off. Jesse’s super confused but tells his dad.

Robert goes pale. He demands Jesse make sure that boy never fences again. Chaos ensues.

Tamlin likes to keep his hair long, all the way to his knees or more, back then. it was just nice, something that he felt like was just for him, for him to take care of, to have fun with that won't affect anyone else. in his earlier days as a high lord his closest friends learned to use it as a method to keep track of whether or not he was overworking himself, or not taking care of himself. nag a little without being too overbearing they would say 'your hair is dirty' and mean are you overworking again? 'thats not your usual braid' when was the last time you had time to take a proper bath and look after yourself 'your hair looks better' you had some rest? and his lovers (lucien, andras or both) would often use that to- well, you can infer.

and so, when he first met feyre, and well, had to say something nice. that was the only thing he could think of, 'your hair looks clean', you are in better shape, did you rest well? clean up? relaxed a bit more?
