Stop the music, DJ! What a weekend! This summer is the real renaissance of the underground. You don't believe me? I don't care.
You are probably lining up to a Sunday Brunch at Meghan's, thinking this is the best way to spend time with your "friends". So let me save you some time and spill the T: Charlotte doesn't like you and Olivia wants to shag your bf. Lilly already gave him a BJ. But that's fine; her boyfriend is gay, and she pretends he is not. Everyone is pretending. Life is a Ball, honey. So you better drink up before reality hits you.
If you are up for something new, then follow Mother. I will show you the way of living free.
Did you hear about the Coven collective and their work in Berlin? You should. It's subversive, Latino and under the radar. I love it. They threw a last-minute rave at a secret location, and that is the spirit I love. Take over the public space, kids. The world belongs to you. Fill it up with love and joy!
I mentioned the Rama debut party in the last post and oooohhh! I think I need a pause here (…) Too much. My ovaries are boiling! This is just what I wanted. New York/Chicago classic house in London. It's about E-DU-CA-TION. YES! I'm spelling it out for you if you don't understand. Take notes, screenshot it, lick it. I literally don't give a f*ck. And Sommé Farris …babe… I was worried about your new haircut. I thought you could be a modern-day Samson who would lose all your strength after the chop. But baby, you are an Aphrodite, and I can't wait to see what you bring next. I would give you this weekend queerhoe badge but there is some special mention that I need to do first. So hold on; the moment will come.
Last Saturday, we celebrated 70 years of a true legend. I won't say if he was alive because he is. Club scene owes to Larry Levan everything he has done during his lifetime. He created a place of acceptance, inclusivity and joy for all the marginalised communities rejected by fancy clubs like Studio 54. The Paradise Garage, his leading club, is still, to date, a historical landmark known for its music and atmosphere. Larry, we love you and thank you for your legacy. We feel you with us on every sweatdrop left on the dancefloor. You will be forever our Weekend Queerhoe.
Oooh when did I get so emotional? I need to stop watching The Bear. Too much. That dizzy camera, that hot chef. God! Bring me a glass of Pinot!
See you on the dancefloor, kids.
Bisou bisou
M.
