made a funny meme about liking games where it revolves around a missing person who haunts the narrative (ex: night in the woods, deltarune, life is strange, etc.) and simultaneously also realized that those games are really, really queer. not just queer in a “gay people kissing” way but, queer stereotypes, aesthetics, AND struggles or awkward conversations.

it made me realize that I, myself, related heavily to these games—leaving my hometown, leaving my family behind, living somewhere new under a new name and identity.

there is something, I think, inherently tying the “missing person” trope to queerness. because, deep down, I think every queer person has shared the sentiment of wanting to run away and never come back. Staring at the same roads, buildings, and trees—wishing you’d never have to see them again.

In these games too, the queer MC’s eventually find themselves or their own happiness, whether that resides in their hometown or not. I think it’s interesting.

Sometimes you’re gay and traumatized. And, well, sometimes there also happens to be a cult. Or time traveling. Or evil worlds you teleport to.
