The dark side of nakshatras I wish more people talked about:
Krittika, Pushya, Chitra, and Vishakha are nakshatras that often get overlooked due to inconsequential and weightless interpretation/description labels put on them. However I have been observing these nakshatras closely and have found some rather interesting patterns that a lot of people seem to miss. For example Krittika is often described as just "sharp" or having "surgical precision" when handling any matter, or Pushya is described as "nurturing" or "sacrificing for others" but there are certain nuances behind these traits that go deeper that just face value. Here are the things I've noticed:
Pushya is the nakshatra I would label as the smother mother.
The typical way Pushya is described is as the ultimate nurturer but peel beneath the veil a little and you will see a darker reality. Pushya natives can often use their nurturing as a tool for total psychological control and unhealthy dependency. Pushya people in their negative expression will cook you meals, feed your ego, and acts like your savior until you can no longer function without them. Because they are ruled by Saturn which is the karaka for shame and balance, they can resort to using guilt and "morality" as weapons to disarm you once they can feel you slipping out of their grasp. Their toxic trait is that they cannot handle people who don't need them. If you try to break free from a toxic Pushya, they will likely play the ultimate martyr card, twisting the narrative so you look like the ungrateful and selfish one. And that is why the nakshatra after pushya, ashlesha, is continuation of pusha's smothering nature, as nakshatra progression often takes or evolves the traits of its previous counterpart.
Krittika is given the orphan archetype, but people are sometimes not able to see how the concept of being cosmically orphaned plays into krittika's traits.
Krittika is usually just called "angry", but its real myth is rooted in abandonment and foster/substitute parenting (the Pleiades raising Kritikeya).
I have noticed how Krittika people tend to have a rather deep and subconscious alien complex where they have a "me against the world" mentality, so they have a perchance for isolating causing other to lose interest in them as a person. However, when they do make friends or have relationships they can commit, so long as the other party does not try to "fix" their deep rooted belief system because once this happens they will completely incinerate those relationships the second they feel vulnerable.
And more on their orphan mindset, they always seem to believe that they are either "better of alone" or "are not wanted so why even try" so they can consciously or unconsciously sabotage their relationships in pure adamance just to avoid being rejected first. They can mask extreme emotional coldness as logic. They will pick apart the deepest insecurities you shared to them in your most vulnerable with surgical precision, pass it off as "constructive criticism," and feel zero remorse for tearing you down.
Vishakha is quite envious if you ask me.
People across the astrology circle call Vishakha "goal-oriented," which completely strips away how jealous people with this placement can be. Vishakhas have envy, like obsessive envy. There was this girl I knew that was so jealous of everyone for no reason, she never seemed to be okay with whatever she had, although I'm not sure if it was her vishaka moon of if she was just a really unhappy person on her own.
And what is so astonishing to me is that a vishaka person's envy is not just because they want what you have but more so that they won because you lost. They are hyper-aware of what everyone else has, and they suffer from a chronic internal emptiness that no amount of success can fill which shows how Vishakha's symbol, the poisoned vessel, comes into play. I have also notice another pattern, and it is that Vishakha people often build a relationship trap where they target people they perceive as broken or lower in status than them, build them up, and then fiercely resent them the moment that person gains independent success.
Chitra: Reducing Chitra to "art and fashion" completely misses the point of its ruler, Vishvakarma- the celestial architect who crafts illusions, chitra natives are great at this, they have a mind blowing ability for extreme superficiality and complete ego detachment. Chitras can build a perfect life, a perfect relationship, and a perfect personality, but it is often completely hollow inside. They care so deeply about how things look than how things actually feel, it reminds me of AI and how lifeless it feels. Because they view life like a canvas, if any of their relationships gets messy, ugly, or complicated, they won't try to fix it, they will simply paint over it, delete you from their life, and move on like nothing happened
