okay idk i don’t have any strong feelings about taylor swift and mostly i like her music (not really the last album tho) and i hate how often i see her name but i just learned that there’s over 30 variants of the record she put out literally less than one year ago and that’s just fucking crazy

like idk i know the theory that she’s blocking chappell roan from some chart thing idk i dont know how all of that works and i’m not mad about that but it is soooooo funny to be taylor swift and know that your 16 year old die-hard fans will absolutely buy every variant of one record that they can get their hands on like i wonder how much money the average swiftie has spent on this single record lol

Personally, I only bought three variants. I have a vinyl and a CD that I picked up at Target the week the album dropped, then she dropped a limited edition TTPD CD with the bonus track “Fresh Out The Slammer (Acoustic Version)” and since it’s my fave song from the album, I decided to get one. Those limited edition variants that have a live or acoustic versions of a song as a bonus track don’t sell that well. Last time she dropped a limited edition variant with a bonus track(which was when it was projected Chappell would go #1 on the bb200)it sold barely 1,000 units. Billboard also came out and said the digital variants wouldn’t have affected Taylor’s chart placement, she would’ve been atop the chart anyway.
